Apoorva Mukhija Takes A Dig At Salman Khan's Bigg Boss: 'Dekhoge Toh Gaali Dene Ki Aadat Lagegi'
Last Updated:
In trying to explain how Apoorva was selected for Karan Johar's The Traitors, she took a subtle dig at Salman Khan's show, Bigg Boss.
The mind-bending reality show, The Traitors, has officially begun on Prime Video. Hosted by Karan Johar, the thriller show is already delivering high-stakes drama, shocking evictions and nail-biting suspense. As the drama unfolded on our screens, contestant Apoorva Mukhija also took to her YouTube channel to explain the behind-the-scenes 'kalesh' of the show. In trying to explain how she was selected for Karan Johar's show, she took a subtle dig at Salman Khan's show, Bigg Boss.
Apoorva said she gave multiple interviews in September 2024 to be selected for the show. Calling herself a 'baby" back then, she revealed that she hadn't seen the international iterations of the show. Apoorva said, 'I, in general, don't watch reality TV a lot. Meri mummy ne mujhe bachpan main Bigg Boss bhi nahi dekhne diya tha. Mummy kehti thi, 'Bigg Boss dekhoge toh gaali dene ki aadat lag jayegi.'"
Besides the Salman Khan show, she also took a dig at herself and said, 'Look how I have tuned out, mummy. Abhi bhi gaali dene ki gandi aadat hai mujhe toh isse badhiya mummy mujhe Bigg Boss dekhne deti." She also mentioned that The Traitors is a smarter show than Bigg Boss as people used their brains for a purpose, unlike in Salman Khan's show. However, she added that just like Salman Khan's show, she and The Traitors' contestants have abused each other for no reason.
The Traitors made its grand debut on Prime Video on June 12 at 8 PM, offering viewers a thrilling start with the release of the first three episodes on launch day. After the premiere, new episodes will continue to drop every Thursday at 8 PM. Filmed at the luxurious and visually stunning Hotel Suryagarh in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, The Traitors combines grandeur with high-stakes drama.
In this game show, 20 players come together in a majestic palace, but among them lurk three secret traitors chosen by the host, Karan Johar. Their mission? To sabotage and eliminate the Innocents one by one, all while keeping their identities hidden.
By day, the group completes missions to build a massive prize pot of Rs 1 crore. By night, the Traitors strike in secret, 'murdering" an Innocent. Each episode culminates in a tense Round Table (like Mafia) where everyone votes out a suspected Traitor. If the Innocents unmask all the Traitors, they share the prize. But if even one Traitor survives, that player walks away with it all.
The star-studded cast features a diverse mix of personalities from the entertainment industry, including Karan Kundrra, Anshula Kapoor, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Norouzi, Harsh Gujral, Jannat Zubair, Janvee Gaurr, Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid), Jasmine Bhasin, Lakshmi Manchu, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Nikita Luther, Purav Jha, Raftaar, Uorfi Javed, Raj Kundra, Sahil Salathia, Sudhanshu Pandey, and Sufi Motiwala.

Karisma's Father Randhir Kapoor Never Wanted Her To Marry Sunjay Kapur: 'He's A Third-Class Man'
Last Updated: In 2003, Karisma tied the knot with Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay Kapur. The marriage, however, did not stand the test of time and ended in a bitter and prolonged legal battle. Karisma Kapoor, once engaged to Abhishek Bachchan in 2002, was poised to become the Bachchan family's bahu. But their highly publicised engagement ended just months later. In 2003, Karisma tied the knot with Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay Kapur. The marriage, however, did not stand the test of time and ended in a bitter and prolonged legal battle. While the couple was parents to two children, their divorce, finalised in 2016, became a talking point in the media due to the serious allegations involved. Karisma accused Sunjay of domestic abuse, while Sunjay alleged that she had married him only for money. Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor, Karisma's father, had always been vocal about his disapproval of the marriage. In a 2016 interview with Hindustan Times, Randhir lashed out at Sunjay and said, 'Sunjay is a third-class man… Everyone knows our credentials. We are Kapoors. We don't need to run after anyone's money. We have been blessed with not only money, but our talent can support us for the rest of our lives." Randhir further added that he had opposed the match from the beginning, stating, 'I never wanted Karisma marrying him. He never cared for his wife. He has been giving bull**** to her and living with another woman. The entire Delhi knows how he is. I would not like to say anything more than this." At the time of his death on June 12, 2025, Sunjay Kapur's estimated net worth stood at $1.2 billion (approximately Rs 10,300 crore), according to Forbes. He became one of the World's Billionaires in 2022. His company, Sona Comstar, headquartered in Gurugram, has 12 manufacturing units and employs over 5,000 people across India, China, Mexico, Serbia, and the US. The company saw significant growth driven by the global electric vehicle (EV) boom. Sunjay assumed control of the company after the death of his father, Dr Surinder Kapur, in 2015. Following years of turmoil, Karisma and Sunjay eventually reached a divorce settlement in 2016. As per DNA, Sunjay paid Karisma Rs 70 crore in alimony. A report by ANI stated that he also invested Rs 14 crore in bonds for their two children, which yield Rs 10 lakh annually in interest. Additionally, he transferred ownership of a house previously owned by his father to Karisma. First Published:
