Bruins draft Swedish puck-moving defenseman at No. 61

Yahoo28-06-2025
BOSTON — After taking Boston College players with their first two picks, the Bruins moved a little further away for their third one.
They took left-shot defenseman Liam Pettersson, a 6-foor-2, 170-pound puck-moving defenseman from Vaxjo Jr. in Sweden with the 61st overall pick in the NHL Draft.

Elite Prospects described him as:
'A treat to watch when he has the puck on his stick. He is a shifty skater with slick mobility in all directions and combines it well with smooth, deceptive hands. He keeps his transition play clean, breaking the puck out effectively through cross-lane feeds and executing stretch passes with ease.'
The pick originally belonged to Carolina, but the Bruins got it from Colorado in their deadline deal that sent Charlie Coyle to the Avalanche.
The Bruins picked a defenseman after taking centers with their first two selections - James Hagens at No. 7 and William Moore at No 51.

Caitlin Clark injury update: Fever superstar exits Sun game late

The Indiana Fever got the 85-77 victory over the Connecticut Sun at TD Garden on Tuesday night, but the win could prove to be incredibly costly. Superstar guard Caitlin Clark left the game with less than a minute left in regulation and looked to be in noticeable pain. Advertisement After she's missed 10 games this season with both a quad strain (5 games) and a groin injury (5 games), the troubling sequence of events that closed Tuesday night's contest could hint to yet another injury. The Sun game was the fourth contest she's played in since her second return from injury last week. While there is no official word on Clark's condition as of now, her status for Indiana's Wednesday road game against the New York Liberty and the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game festivities are officially in question. After the game, Fever coach Stephanie White indicated that Clark "felt a little something in her groin," per IndyStar's Chloe Peterson. An evaluation will follow, per White. It's possible that this could be a new groin injury on the right side of her body, per a reporter's observation from the post-game press conference. We'll keep you updated once we know more on Clark's condition. Advertisement This article originally appeared on For The Win: Caitlin Clark injury update: Fever superstar exits Sun game late

Shannopin Country Club's 17th hole features very unique green complex

The 17th hole at Shannopin Country Club is one of the most unique and most difficult par 3s in the Pittsburgh area. Shannopin Country Club was established in 1920, named after the Lenape tribe Chief Shannopin. Located just 10 miles north of Pittsburgh, Shannopin has one of the most unique and difficult par 3 holes in western Pennsylvania. The 17th hole plays 200 yards, downhill, and is guarded with several bunkers, but what makes the hole stand out is the green. "It's 42 yards from front to back," said Shannopin Country Club head golf professional Eric Teasdale. "At its widest point, it's only 10 yards wide. So the green slopes from back left to front right on both of those greens. It's kind of like you're hitting right into the green like that. It's 194 yards downhill, true yardage, not counting slope or anything. We can get it up to a little over 200 yards." The difficult 17th hole can make or break a lot of matches played at Shannopin. "Our 17th-18th hole is a very hard hole and they're matchbreakers for sure," Teasdale said. The tee shot on the 17th offers no real bailout area with out of bounds to the right and two bunkers guarding the front part of the green. Approach shots that miss to the right of the green will have a nearly 15 foot pitch up the hillside to contend with. "Any time that pin is in the back, we have very few individuals that hit it all the way onto the green," Teasdale said. Downhill putts on the slick surface will be hard to contend with and leaving yourself a tap-in par will be a big win. "Anytime you make a 3 on this hole, you're happy," Teasdale said.
