T'ganu Gears Up For Biggest Tour Gateh D'Tranung
Terengganu Youth Development, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisations Committee chairman, Hishamuddin Abdul Karim, said the number of participants for the fourth edition of the tournament has increased compared to last year's 23 teams from nine countries.
He said participating countries include Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia and the Netherlands.

'We have 12 local teams and 14 international teams taking part in the race, with total prize money of RM216,000. In fact, we received many applications from local clubs, but some had to be declined for various reasons.
'For this edition, we are giving more opportunities to international teams as part of efforts to promote sports-based tourism in Terengganu,' he said at the Tour Gateh D'Tranung 2025 press conference here today.
Also present was Terengganu Sports Council (MSNT) director, Ahmad Shahrizal Yahaya.
Hishamuddin said this year's race will span eight stages, beginning in Kuala Nerus and ending at the Drawbridge in Kuala Terengganu, covering a total distance of 910.5 kilometres.
According to him, elements of Terengganu's woodcraft heritage will be incorporated into all printed materials for the event, including the jerseys and brochures.
'There will be five contested categories in the Tour Gateh D'Tranung: General Individual Classification, Sprint King, King of the Mountains, Best Local Club, and Best Under-23 Rider.

The region attracts hundreds of mountaineers from all over the world including from Europe every year. Accidents, sometimes deadly, are common during these expeditions especially on K2 and Nanga Parbat, both 8,000 meters peaks.

Mirabel cruises to maiden pro win
KUALA LUMPUR: Golfer Mirabel Ting made an instant impact in the professional ranks by romping to a commanding nine-shot victory at the PGM Royal Pahang Championship — barely a month into her pro career. The 19-year-old Sarawakian was in complete control throughout the 54-hole tournament at the Pahang Royal Golf Club, closing with a steady two-under 70 on Thursday for a winning total of 14-under 202. Mirabel, who turned professional earlier this month after leaving Florida State University with a year of eligibility left, had set the pace early with rounds of 67 and a brilliant 65 on Wednesday to build a five-shot cushion heading into the final round. She was the only player in the women's field to shoot under par across all three rounds. It was Mirabel's second victory on PGM Tour, after having won the Fortuner Cup in June last year. The two-time Olympic medallist (one silver, one bronze) said the decision was made after careful consideration, as the injury would prevent her from competing safely or being at her best. 'I'm truly grateful for all the kind messages and concern for my wellbeing. I promise to take better care of my body as I focus on healing and prepare for the next opportunity to represent Malaysia,' Bernama reported her as saying in a Facebook post. Pandelela, 32, said she would continue to cheer on her fellow teammates in Singapore.
