Indore, Jul 28 (PTI) Illegal encroachment in a government-controlled temple's land, worth more than Rs 150 crore, was removed on Monday in Indore, an official said.
The encroachment occupied approximately 1.28 lakh square feet of land of the Shri Ram and Khedaapati temple in Pipaliya Kumar area.
Officials said the action involved the demolition of illegal constructions and the removal of illegally sown crops with the help of the municipal corporation.
According to officials, the temple land was sold by the land mafia through fake and illegal sale deeds.
They said appropriate legal steps are being taken. PTI HWP MAS NSK

Malayalam reality show winner Jinto booked for allegedly stealing from gym owner
Bodybuilder-cum-fitness trainer and winner of a popular reality show, Jinto, has been booked in a theft case lodged by a woman gym owner, police said on Tuesday. Palativattom police registered a case against the Big Boss winner under BNS Section 305 (theft).(PTI File Photo) According to police, the complainant alleged that Jinto trespassed into the gym, which she had taken on lease from him, and stole money and some documents. The complainant also reportedly submitted CCTV visuals which allegedly showed the accused entering the gym in the wee hours of Monday, vandalising cameras and other articles and stealing the documents and money. Palativattom police registered a case against the Big Boss winner under BNS Section 305 (theft). Further actions are yet to be taken, they said. Jinto was reportedly interrogated by investigators in connection with a hybrid ganja case earlier.

Bengaluru cylinder blast: Mother and daughter succumb to injuries, death toll rises to 3
The death toll from the domestic LPG cylinder explosion in south-eastern Bengaluru has risen to three, after a woman and her young daughter, who were undergoing treatment, succumbed to their injuries on Monday. A 10-year-old boy died and 12 persons were injured in the blast on Friday, police said. (PTI) The victims have been identified as 30-year-old Kasturiamma, a domestic worker, and her 8-year-old daughter, Kayal. Both were residents of Tamil Nadu, police said, Indian Express reported. The explosion occurred at Kasturiamma's residence in Chinnayanpalya, Wilson Garden, around 8 am on August 15. Earlier, a 10-year-old boy named Mubarak had died and several others were injured in the blast. (Also Read: Suspected cylinder blast in Bengaluru kills 8-year-old boy, injures six others) The powerful explosion ripped through the densely packed residential area, damaging more than 16 houses, according to the report. Kayal, who had sustained 35 per cent burns, died around 5 pm on Monday at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. Her mother, who suffered 40 per cent burns, passed away at 8 pm the same evening at Victoria Hospital. A police officer said Kasturiamma, while still under treatment, had told the police that she had turned off the gas cylinder before going to sleep. Authorities have now registered a case against the LPG company and are awaiting forensic reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), who have collected evidence from the site. The Adugodi police have booked the case under Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 125 (endangering human life or personal safety through rash or negligent conduct) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the LPG firm. Delhi HC slaps Rs 10 lakh fine on RWA for filing petition to extort money
New Delhi [India], August 19 (ANI): The Delhi High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on the Azad Market Resident Welfare Association (RWA), through its General Secretary Anil Lodhi, after finding that petitions were being filed to extort money. Justice Mini Pushkarna, in an order dated August 7, directed the amount to be paid within 6 weeks, and expressed 'alarm and shock" at the conduct of the petitioner. 'Cost of Rs. 10 lakh is imposed upon the petitioner, Azad Market RWA (Regd.), through its General Secretary Mr Anil Lodhi, to be paid within a period of six weeks, from today," Justice Mini Pushkarna observed. The court also referred the matter to the Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) for an inquiry regarding advocate Babu Lal Gupta. The HC noted that all the petitions filed by Lodhi were with the help of Gupta. Gupta made the petitioner a trustee in an NGO. The court also recorded that one of the respondents, Mamta Yadav, was contacted to extort money. The High Court also noted that the said persons are involved in filing petitions that are in relation to unauthorised construction in places which are not in the vicinity of the area where the petitioner Society or the NGO are situated. 'These facts are alarming and shocking, which disclose the deplorable conduct of the petitioner in filing cases for extorting money from people, by misusing and abusing the process of this Court," the High Court said. The court said that on the one hand, cases of unauthorised constructions strictly with an iron hand; but at the same time, the Court has to ensure that the process of the Court is not misused by anyone in order to extort money from the persons undertaking such construction. 'A proceeding before a Court is a solemn process for furthering the cause of justice, and not for aiding unlawful objectives of certain individuals," Justice Pushkarna observed. The HC further ordered, 'On account of the facts that have come to light before this Court in relation to the clear involvement of Babu Lal Gupta, Advocate with a purported NGO, Green Gold Earth of World', and the petitioner, the matter is referred to the Bar Council of Delhi, to consider the conduct of BL Gupta, to assess whether there are any violations of BCD Rules by BL Gupta, in relation to the subject matter, and requisite action that is required to be taken, with regard thereto." Advocate Gupta has a chamber in the Rohini District. The HC is directing the registry to tag this order with the petition filed by the petitioner or Lodhi in future. Justice Pushkarna ordered, 'Considering the misuse and abuse of process of this Court and considering the fact that various petitions against unauthorised constructions have been filed by Azad Market RWA (regd.) through its General Secretary, Mr Anil Lodhi, it is directed that the Registry of this Court, at the time of accepting any petition from Azad Market RWA (regd.) or from Mr. Anil Lodhi, or from the NGO Green Gold Earth of World', shall affix the present order to the said petitions, so that this order is brought to the notice of the Court, in future also."
