A UK pub chain with more than 600 boozers nationwide is celebrating its 10th anniversary by giving away thousands of free pints. The Craft Union chain plans to distribute 10,000 free pints across its pubs this week across London, the Midlands, the south, the north and Wales.
On Wednesday, May 14, customers can grab a free drink from the wide selection available at Craft Union pubs (their full list of pubs is here). With the arrival of warmer weather and longer evenings, they say it's the perfect time for those looking to relax with a cool drink.

In addition to the giveaway, Craft Union says it is also contributing to local causes. On May 14, 10p from every pint sold will be donated to local initiatives, with an estimated £20,000 expected to be raised.
Over the past year, Craft Union pubs have already raised approximately £1 million for local causes. But that's not all - one lucky customer could win a life-changing £10,000 on Wednesday, reports Lancs Live.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Craft Union pubs are running a special promotion where every pint purchase comes with a QR code that gives customers a chance to enter a daily prize draw. The winner will be announced the next day.
Craft Union currently operates 637 locations, with its first site opening in Stoke-on-Trent in 2025. The pub chain says its philosophy revolves around creating welcoming community hubs that aim to offer great value, live sports, and more.
Frazer Grimbleby, Craft Union's Managing Director, said: "We're proud to be marking our 10th anniversary with three initiatives to give back to our guests as a thank you for how they have supported Craft Union over the last decade."
He also highlighted the company's charitable efforts, saying: "We're delighted to have raised more than one million pounds for local causes in the last 12 months, and we are incredibly grateful to our guests for their unwavering support and enthusiasm in raising funds for charities - so what better way to show our appreciation than a drink on us.
"Make sure you get yourself down to your local Craft Union pub on Wednesday to claim your one free drink while stocks last, we're expecting the nation to get through 10,000 drinks in no time at all."
Craft Union, a UK pub chain, has seen rapid growth over the past year, opening an impressive 78 pubs in just 12 months. The firm says that makes it the fastest-growing pub company in the country.

Coca-Cola recalls Topo Chico mineral water over fears of bacteria
The Coca-Cola Company is recalling Topo Chico mineral water that was sent to five US states due to possible bacterial contamination. Coca-Cola is voluntarily recalling 'limited quantities' of 16.9-ounce glass bottles of Topo Chico that came in packages of 18 because they may be contaminated with the bacteria pseudomonas. They were sent to stores including wholesale retailer Costco, which distributed the bottles to its locations in Louisiana and Texas. The affected items were purchased from May 20 to 29 of this year, Costco stated in a letter to customers on Monday. 'Pseudomonas can be found naturally in water sources, including mineral water,' states the letter. 'The health consequences of consuming mineral water with the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa is considered to be very low in healthy individuals with potential minor health consequences if consumed by individuals with weak immune systems.' Costco members who bought the mineral water with the lot code 13A2541 should return it for a full refund. 'The safety and quality of the products we offer our consumers is our top priority,' reads the letter. There have been no reports of consumers becoming sick from the mineral water, according to a Coca-Cola spokesperson. 'All impacted product has been removed from store shelves at the approximately 40 retail locations across Arizona, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas,' the spokesperson told FOX Business on Thursday. More Trending In addition to the lot number mentioned by Costco, bottles with 11A2543 and 12A2543 can also be returned for a refund or exchanged, said the spokesperson. Customers with questions should call the Coca-Cola Company. Coca-Cola acquired Topo Chico in 2017 in a reported $220million deal. Coca-Cola also owns the drink brands Sprite, Powerade, Vitamin Water, Dasani, Fairlife and BODYARMOR. The recall comes two-and-a-half months after the company recalled more than 10,000 cans of Coca-Cola over concerns of plastic contamination. Parents missing out on official scheme that could save £2,000
Many parents are missing out on a scheme that could save up to £2,000 a year for each child, a payroll specialist says. Robert King, director of nanny payroll services at Nannywage Ltd, is encouraging parents to make use of the lesser-known facility. And he said it could save them hundreds on childcare costs this summer, reports Lancs Live. Robert said: "The Tax-free Childcare Scheme allows working parents to save up to £2,000 per child annually on approved childcare costs, with the savings capped at £500 every three months, or £1,000 for children with disabilities. "Over the summer holidays, parents can benefit significantly, as the scheme provides a government top-up of £2 for every £8 deposited into the account. This is a great way to manage rising childcare costs while keeping flexibility to withdraw unused funds if plans change." According to the director, it does not take long at all to sort. Robert said: "Families can apply online for Tax-free Childcare through the government website in just 20 minutes. Once the account is set up, parents can deposit money immediately and use it to pay for nurseries, childminders, summer activity clubs, and other approved providers. Any unused money can be withdrawn at any time." There are criteria to take part. To qualify, each parent must earn at least 16 hours per week at the National Minimum Wage or Living Wage, but no more than £100,000 annually. The scheme is not available to those receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit, or childcare vouchers. For self-employed individuals or directors, proof of income, such as accountant statements, invoices, or bank statements, may be required to confirm eligibility. The scheme supports children aged 11 or under, or up to 16 if they have disabilities. Eligibility ends on September 1 following the child's 11th or 16th birthday, depending on their circumstances. It comes as a recent study has shown that 61% of parents feel the strain to overspend during the summer holidays, with 51% worried they won't be able to afford a holiday this year. The average weekly cost of childcare has risen by 11.41% since 2023.
