'Telangana is the most successful startup state', says KTR
HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao hailed Telangana as the most successful startup state in the history of independent India, emphasising that no other state in the country has achieved such a remarkable progress in just a decade.
Addressing the gathering during the Telangana Formation Day and BRS silver jubilee celebrations held at the Dr Pepper Arena (Comerica Center) in Dallas, the US, Rama Rao highlighted the 'unparalleled' achievements the state witnessed under the leadership of BRS president and former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.
KCR transformed Telangana into a land of boundless opportunities and an economic engine for India, he added.

During his US visit, KTR met IT leaders in Dallas and highlighted India's readiness to host offshore centres, especially from small and mid-sized firms. "AI will define the future. We must equip our youth and create ecosystems to make India a global talent hub," he said. Recalling Hyderabad's transformation under the BRS govt, he noted: "In 2014, Hyderabad had 3.2 lakh IT jobs. By the time we left office, it had grown to 10 lakh. Companies like Amazon and Google built their biggest campuses outside the US here." He said the BRS govt promoted IT growth beyond Hyderabad, creating hubs in 10 tier-2 cities such as Khammam, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Siddipet, Nizamabad, and Adilabad. "Firms like NTT Data are thriving in Adilabad with 500 professionals. We offered rent-free spaces, incentives, and plug-and-play infrastructure," he said. KTR emphasised the need for infrastructure to unlock regional potential. "As former US President John F. Kennedy said, America got rich by building highways. India must invest similarly," he added, appealing to NRIs and investors to back the country's next growth phase.

KTR invites Indian-origin entrepreneurs to invest in Telangana's Tier-2 cities
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao emphasised that collaboration between governments and IT companies is crucial for India's youth to compete in the AI sector. He urged IT entrepreneurs of Indian origin to establish their companies in India, particularly in Tier-2 cities. During his visit to the USA, KTR met with representatives of IT companies in Dallas, highlighting the potential for small and medium-sized IT companies to establish offshore centres in India. He noted that the post-COVID era has demonstrated that work can be done for any company from anywhere in the world. KTR pointed out that during BRS's nine-year rule, the IT industry was extended to Tier-2 cities in Telangana. 'The government established IT hubs in 10 such cities, offering rent-free facilities in the first year, plug-and-play infrastructure and various incentives,' he added. The former IT minister emphasized that while multinational giants like Amazon and Google may not relocate to Tier-2 cities, small and medium-sized IT companies can. He highlighted the vast opportunities in India's Tier-2 cities, which have good rail and road connectivity, predicting remarkable developments in the next two decades. However, several IT company representatives noted that the growth of the IT industry in Telangana has slowed down.

Telangana Congress's weekly grievance redressal forum ‘Face-to-Face with Minister' resumes in Hyderabad after five months
The 'Face-to-Face with Minister' at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad has resumed after a gap of over five months. As part of the weekly programme, Ministers from the Telangana cabinet sit at the Congress party's headquarters to receive petitions from people and address their grievances. It, launched in September 2024, was stopped in December without giving any reason. Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar attended the programme on Wednesday (June 10, 2025). He said that the party had decided to continue with the event for the benefit of the people following the direction of party state-in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. 'I appeal to the people and party workers to come to Gandhi Bhavan, which is like a temple for many, and submit your petitions to get your issues resolved,' he said. Later, he received petitions from the public as well as party workers. The petitions are related to land disputes, senior citizens' welfare, jobs, party positions and others, according to the party sources. Speaking to the media before attending the programme, Mr. Prabhakar termed Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K. Kavitha's protest under the aegis of Telangana Jagruthi at Dharna Chowk on Wednesday against notices to former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao — by the Justice PC Ghosh commission probing alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) — as mere attempt to make her presence felt. 'The enquiry commission can call or issue notices to anyone involved in the execution of the Kaleshwaram project,' the Minister said, defending the issuance of notices to the former Chief Minister. He alleged that the previous BRS government had looted public money under the pretext of providing water by constructing irrigation projects. He also dismissed the recent controversy surrounding Ms. Kavitha's letter to her father as a trivial matter, adding that the Congress is not bothered about their internal clashes. He accused the main Opposition BRS of enacting dramas to attract public attention because the party is losing ground and its future seems bleak.
