Siddhant Chaturvedi Says He Shot Half Of Dhadak 2 Without Knowing The Title: 'Ishaan Khatter Told Me...'
It's not every day that an actor finds out the title of his own film from someone outside the set. But that's exactly what happened to Siddhant Chaturvedi while shooting Dhadak 2, one of this year's most eagerly awaited romantic dramas. The actor revealed that he had already filmed a major chunk of the movie without knowing it would eventually be titled Dhadak 2 — and the first person to break the news to him was none other than Dhadak star Ishaan Khatter.
During a recent promotional event, Siddhant shared the unusual anecdote. 'He [Ishaan] was the one who told me before I knew, and I had already shot half of the film by then," the Gully Boy actor recalled with a laugh. 'Without me knowing, and he knows." The surprise revelation happened when Siddhant ran into Ishaan at a film screening.
While Siddhant was caught off guard by the name, he had only glowing words for Ishaan's performance in the original Dhadak. 'He was fabulous in it," he said, applauding his co-star from Phone Bhoot, which also featured Katrina Kaif.
Dhadak 2 stars Siddhant opposite Triptii Dimri in what's being described as an intense love story. Helmed by debutante director Shazia Iqbal and produced by Dharma Productions, the film serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2018 hit Dhadak, which introduced Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor to Bollywood. Unlike its predecessor, which was a remake of Sairat, Dhadak 2 adapts the critically acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018) for Hindi audiences.
With a powerful premise, a fresh pairing, and the promise of emotionally charged storytelling, Dhadak 2 is all set to hit theatres on August 1, 2025. Meanwhile, Siddhant has the spotlight with this upcoming release, while Ishaan's Homebound — which premiered at Cannes 2025 — continues to garner attention globally.
