158 Agniveers pass out from 14 Gorkha Training Centre in Subathu
Subathu (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 5 (ANI): A strength of 158 Agniveers passed out in an impressive Passing Out Parade at the historical Salaria Stadium of 14 Gorkha Training Centre in Subathu, an official release said on Thursday.
The recruits, who swore allegiance to the Indian Republic, underwent rigorous training for over 31 weeks in various aspects of physical fitness, battle and field craft, weapons, and tactics.
As per the release, the Agniveers would now be joining the Gorkha Battalions of First and Fourth Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army, having a rich and glorious military history of over 200 years of valour and sacrifice.
Brigadier Puneet Sharma, Commandant 14 Gorkha Training Centre reviewed the parade. He also addressed the parade, wherein he motivated all the recruits to keep the National and Indian Army flag flying high across all frontiers of the Country.
The parade was followed by a melodious Pipe Band display of martial music with excellent synchronisation. The function concluded with a breath-taking Physical Training Display that left the spectators awe-inspired. More than 300 serving persons, Ex-Servicemen, parents, and relatives of Agniveers graced the event.
Earlier today, the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) Regiment Centre in Srinagar held the Passing Out Parade (POP) of its fifth batch of Agniveers, marking the induction of 326 recruits into the Indian Army.
The newly inducted Agniveers completed 31 weeks of physical, mental, and tactical training before marching in unison during the attestation ceremony. Senior Army officers, instructors, and recruits' family members attended the event.
The Reviewing Officer, a senior Army official, congratulated the newly inducted soldiers and encouraged them to uphold the rich legacy of the JAK LI Regiment with unwavering commitment and courage. (ANI)

402 Agniveers pass out from Dogra Regimental Centre after rigorous 31-week training
New Delhi [India], June 6 (ANI): The Dogra Regimental Centre held the passing out parade and attestation ceremony for the 5th Agniveer Course on June 4 at the historic Jamedar Lala Parade Ground, according to a release on Friday. A total of 402 Agniveers passed out and were attested to be sworn in as part of the Indian Army. The Agniveers underwent rigorous training for 31 weeks from November 1, 2024, to June 4, 2025. This training included tactical and physical training, drill, weapon handling, field/ battle craft, and endurance, turning them into professional soldiers. Team-building and Esprit-de-Corps were ingrained through various sports and professional competitions during the training. A highlight of the training was a weeklong training camp conducted under realistic field conditions. The camp put Agniveers into various tactical exercises and situations, initially keeping them self-sustained for 72 hours in field conditions. It culminated in a gruelling 40 km 'Josh Run', a true test of endurance, spirit, strength, and willpower. Major General Anupam Baghi, Additional Director General of Rashtriya Rifles, and Brigadier Jitendra Sharma, Commandant, The Dogra Regimental Centre, reviewed the parade in the presence of other officers, families, civil dignitaries, and parents of Agniveers. The young Agniveers took the oath to serve the nation with pride and dedication, and to uphold the values of the Indian Army. The Dogra Regimental Centre has a rich history of producing brave and dedicated soldiers who have served the nation with distinction. New Delhi [India], June 6 (ANI): The Army Air Defence Centre, Gopalpur, witnessed a proud and momentous occasion as the Passing Out Parade (POP) of the fifth batch of Agniveers was held on Thursday, June 5. The parade was reviewed by Brigadier Hemant Singh, Commandant of the Army Air Defence Centre, who congratulated the 401 Agniveers on successfully completing their rigorous training and taking their 'Antim Pag' (final step) towards joining the ranks of the Indian Army. The event was marked by an impressive drill display, which was a testament to the high standards of discipline and training imparted at the Centre. Brigadier Hemant Singh, in his address, highlighted that drill is the bedrock of military discipline. "Pray for safety, security of our country and Army personnel": Lucknow Eidgah Imam appeals to Muslims ahead of Eid-al-Adha
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 6 (ANI): Lucknow Eidgah Imam Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali, on Friday, appealed to the Muslim community to pray for the safety and security of the country and the Army personnel ahead of the Eid-al-Adha festival on June 7. Speaking with ANI, Maulana Mahali also urged the Community to follow the 12-point advisory issued ahead of the sacred festival. 'Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on June 7. In this regard, the Islamic Centre of India has issued a 12-point advisory in which Muslims are asked not to sacrifice animals forbidden by the law. During sacrifice, hygiene should be maintained. The blood of the animal should not be disposed of in any public place,' he said. 'While offering a sacrifice, no photos or videos should be taken or uploaded to social media. We have also appealed to the Muslim community to also pray for the safety and security of our country and the Army personnel,' the Lucknow Eidgah Imam said. On June 2, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali issued a comprehensive 12-point advisory to ensure the festival is observed with hygiene, respect, and social responsibility. Speaking to ANI, Mahali said, 'A 12-point advisory has been issued for Eid-Ul-Adha, where Muslims are advised that while performing the ritual of sacrifice, please maintain hygiene and cleanliness. The ritual should be done on designated spots, not on roadsides or streets.' He further stressed that the blood of the sacrificed animal should not be shed into drains but buried in raw soil so it acts as fertiliser for plants. 'The blood should not be shed in the drains. It should be buried in raw soil so that it acts as a fertiliser for plants,' he told. The Imam also requested that no videos or photos of the sacrificial ritual be taken or uploaded to social media. The holy festival of Eid al-Adha, also known as the 'festival of sacrifice' or Greater Eid, is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the 12th month of the Islamic or lunar calendar. Eid al-Adha is the second Islamic festival of the year and follows Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. The date changes every year, as it's based on the Islamic lunar calendar, which is about 11 days shorter than the Western 365-day Gregorian calendar. It is celebrated as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice everything for God. Eid al-Adha is called Id-ul-Adha in Arabic and Bakr-Id in the Indian subcontinent, because of the tradition of sacrificing a goat or 'bakri'. It is a festival that is celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety in India. (ANI)
