New Yorker Who Lived Downstairs From Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz for 10 Years Reveals What Actors Were Really Like as ‘Neighbors'

A New York influencer who once lived in the same building as Hollywood couple Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz has opened up about what it was really like to be 'neighbors' with the A-list actors. Ilana Wiles, a content creator who has earned close to 500,000 TikTok followers by sharing candid 'day in the life of a New York City mom' clips on the platform, revealed the identity of her famous former neighbors in a recent video that was posted as part of the popular 'holy airball' trend. The viral trend, which was inspired by a basketball-themed meme, sees TikTokers hitting back at common misconceptions about their life, family, or careers—usually in a bid to reveal something impressive about their background. Videos posted as part of the trend typically begin with the content creator revealing a simple fact about themselves alongside a photo. In Wiles' case, she wrote: 'Told them my upstairs neighbor was a celebrity,' while posting an image of herself posing in her kitchen. That fact is then followed up with a stranger's less-than-impressed response to that statement. 'So like, one of the Housewives?' Wiles wrote in her video—joking that people always assumed the star she was referring to was a member of the Bravo cast. Then, finally, the truth about the fact is revealed, with Wiles sharing that her neighbors were of a more high-brow Hollywood class, sharing an image of Craig and Weisz with the hashtag #holyairball. In the caption of her clip, the TikTok star shared some further details about her living situation when she was neighbors with the A-list couple. 'For the record, neither of us live there anymore but they were our upstairs neighbors for 10 years!' she wrote. 'I only have nice things to say.' The building in which Craig, Weisz, and Wiles once lived is located on East 10th Street in the East Village. The 'James Bond' star and his wife owned a $6 million penthouse unit for seven years, before selling it in 2019. According to records, the couple, who began dating in 2010, purchased the three-bedroom dwelling in October 2012, then listed it for sale in May 2019 for $6.5 million—just $500,000 more than they had bought it for. They accepted an offer of $6 million in August of that same year. Meanwhile, Wiles and her family lived in a rented unit two floors down, which was last leased for $11,000 a month, according to records. After selling their penthouse in 2019, Craig and Weisz moved to Brooklyn, where they bought a brownstone property in Cobble Hill in 2018. The couple paid $6.75 million for the six-bedroom dwelling with 6,600 square feet of living space. The home was located on 'one of Cobble Hill's most beloved blocks,' the original listing stated. 'This is one of Cobble Hill's largest homes in an ideal location,' the description went on, noting that the dwelling had undergone an extensive renovation in 2011, which saw it outfitted with an elevator, among other updates. The home had been damaged in a fire and required extensive work when it was purchased by the couple. Listing images at the time showed that the property had several unfinished rooms, including a stunning living space with private elevator access and an outdoor terrace. The bones of the home were still awe-inspiring. Several of the rooms boasted fireplaces and enormous windows. 'King of the Hill' actor Jonathan Joss shot to death; husband calls it antigay hate crime

Jonathan Joss, an actor known for the TV shows King of the Hill and Parks and Recreation, was shot to death Sunday night in what his husband is calling a homophobic hate crime. Keep up with the latest in + news and politics. Joss, 59, was shot at the site of his former San Antonio home, which had burned down in January, according to multiple media outlets. He and his husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, had gone there to check their mail, Kern de Gonzales wrote on social media. Once there, 'we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view,' he wrote on Facebook. 'This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw. 'While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired. Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life.' Police attempted to revive Joss, but when paramedics arrived, they pronounced him dead, The New York Times reports. A neighbor, Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, 56, was arrested and is charged with murder. Police have not commented on a motive and said the investigation is continuing. However, Kern de Gonzales wrote that Joss was killed "by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other." Joss, born and raised in San Antonio, was best known as the voice of John Redcorn, a Native American masseur and healer, on the Fox animated series King of the Hill. The actor was of Apache and Comanche heritage. He had already recorded some of his lines for the series' upcoming reboot, Variety notes. The reboot will be available in August on Hulu. He played a Native American chief, Ken Hotate, on five episodes of Parks and Recreation, a situation comedy on NBC that starred Amy Poehler. He appeared on other TV shows, such as Ray Donovan, Friday Night Lights, Tulsa King, and Walker, Texas Ranger, and in films that included the remakes of True Grit and The Magnificent Seven. He also was a musician with the Red Corn Band, the name of which references his King of the Hill character. Kern de Gonzales said in his Facebook post that he and Joss had frequently been harassed and threatened by homophobic neighbors. This included threats to set their house on fire, Kern de Gonzales said. Joss said at the time of the fire that he may have left something on that caused it, but Friday at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, he said, 'My house burned down three months ago because I'm gay,' according to People. He spoke from the audience and said he was disappointed not to have been invited to be in an onstage panel that featured producers Mike Judge and Greg Daniels. Joss and Kern de Gonzales were married on Valentine's Day of this year. 'He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get,' Kern de Gonzales wrote in his Facebook post.

Sydney Sweeney breaks silence on Jonathan Davino breakup, is 'loving' single life

Sydney Sweeney breaks silence on Jonathan Davino breakup, is 'loving' single life Show Caption Hide Caption Sydney Sweeney arrives at the 2025 Met Gala in dazzling black gown Sydney Sweeney graces the Met Gala red carpet in a dazzling black gown. Sydney Sweeney is clearing up rumors about her engagement to Jonathan Davino once and for all. When asked by the U.K. newspaper The Sunday Times about their status, Sweeney was honest but withheld details. She confirmed she is no longer planning a wedding with Davino, with whom she co-founded a production company; the two had been linked together for nearly seven years. And she replied "yes" when asked whether she's single now. "I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it," the 27-year-old told the newspaper. Sweeney's comments, which were published in the newspaper's May 31 feature story timed to her new AppleTV+ film, "Echo Valley," come more than three months after rumors started swirling around a possibly rocky relationship. By the end of March, outlets including People, TMZ and US Weekly were reporting the two had split. Sweeney's representatives did not respond to USA TODAY's request for comment at the time. Relationship timeline: Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino spark split rumors Sydney Sweeney reveals close relationship with Glen Powell Sweeney also touched on the box-office success of the 2023 movie she and Davino co-produced, "Anyone But You." The film – and Sweeney and co-star Glen Powell's marketing stunts – fueled a seldom-seen race to see the rom-com in theaters. "Glenn and I adore each other, so I think we were so happy for the reception of the film," she said, noting the two are "still close." (Sweeney attended Powell's sister's wedding in Texas in March.) "When you spend so much time with someone, you become close and you talk to each other about anything," she told The Sunday Times. "So work, life, family, friends, he's just there for me. I'm there for him." In an April 2024 New York Times interview, Powell admitted the speculation over whether he and Sweeney were having an affair was all a showmance. "The two things that you have to sell a rom-com are fun and chemistry. Sydney and I have a ton of fun together, and we have a ton of effortless chemistry," he said. "That's people wanting what's on the screen off the screen, and sometimes you just have to lean into it a bit — and it worked wonderfully." He added, "Sydney is very smart." Sydney Sweeney's essentials: She dishes on her favorite rom-com and what's on her playlist Sydney Sweeney says she's typecast as Cassie from 'Euphoria' Sweeney also opened up to The Sunday Times about being back on the "Euphoria" set. "Being back is crazy. I love Cassie so much," she said. "She's insane." Sweeney also got honest about how she feels she is typecast when auditioning for roles. "I see it all the time where they don't think I am right for [a role] because they watched Cassie in Euphoria. Especially because Cassie was such a sexualized character — that puts a wall up for people," she told the newspaper. The other battle she's fighting in Hollywood is being "taken seriously as a producer." Sweeney said, "I have to prove myself as a young woman, as an actor, as a businessperson — all of it."
