MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have extended their Netflix deal - but bosses are hoping they will have some 'juicy royal tea to spill', according to experts.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed a new "multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects" with Netflix, the couple has announced.

However, speaking on this week's The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, broadcaster and journalist Esther Craichu said the Sussexes' deal is simply a 'retainer'.
She claimed: 'It's a retainer in case they [Meghan and Harry] decide to accidentally do something entertaining again.
'That's basically it. So there's no commitment.
'They've put no money behind this. It's basically the right to first refusal.
'So if they come up with something that doesn't have to do with their whole kind of sermonising about how to save the world, then Netflix might be like, yes.
'I mean, to be brutally honest, what they've done is they've said, 'unless you have some juicy tea to spill on the royal family, or you get divorced and want to give us a documentary, probably not.'
'But if they have something juicy to say about the royal family, like the king sent me a potted plant, which turned out to be poison ivy, or that 'H my fox' just didn't hold me the way I wanted to, and so we've had to consciously uncouple, then maybe.
'That's basically it.'
Esther claimed that the deal is the 'best of both worlds' and claims Netflix has been "clever in that sense.'
She added: 'These people [the Sussexes] are a household name. They're annoying, but they're a household name.
Harry & Meghan were 'not in a strong position' & signed Netflix deal for 'much less'… TV giant 'did it for publicity'
'If they do anything interesting, we have to be first in the queue, because it would be a blockbuster.
'Everyone would be covering it. It'd be a huge media storm. But at the moment, given their track record, absolutely not.
'We're not committing five quid to this.'
Five years ago, Harry and Meghan secured a lucrative contract, thought to be worth more than 100 million dollars (£74million), with Netflix after quitting as senior working royals in 2020.
It is not yet known how much the new extended deal will bring in for the couple, or how long it will last.

IDEAL OUTCOME?
News.com.au's royal reporter Bronte Coyne said the new deal is the 'ideal outcome for both parties.'
She explained: 'We've talked about what was going to be next for Harry and Meghan in their Netflix business arm for a long time now, because we knew that this five-year deal was going to expire this year.
'What was going to be the ideal outcome?
'OK, they're not going to sign a deal anything like the one that was signed in 2020, because they don't really exist anymore.
'The landscape has changed completely for TV, but streaming services in particular.
If they [Meghan and Harry] do anything interesting, we [Netflix] have to be first in the queue, because it would be a blockbuster
Esther Craichu
'So it did seem likely that there would either be a downgraded deal or an expiration of the deal.
'Now, the fact that both parties can say we've reached a new agreement, it was never going to be what it was before, but it is a new agreement.
'I think that an argument could be made on either side that it's a PR win, because the deal wasn't cancelled, as had been speculated for some time.
'It's a first-look deal.'

Announcing the deal, Meghan said in a statement: 'We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand.
"My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.'
On top of Season 2 of With Love, Meghan - which will drop later this month - they will also do a "Holiday Celebration" Christmas special this December.
"Join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration," the announcement reads.
"Together, friends and family deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs – with simple how-tos to follow at home. It's a holiday wonder with warmth, tradition, and a generous dose of joy."
There will also be a short film called "Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within".

HISTORY
It was previously thought that the Sussexes' £74million deal with the streamer was not going to be renewed.
Harry's Polo series, about the sport, was watched by just 500,000 people.
It was also understood that bosses were mildly infuriated by Meghan making her As Ever brand a priority.

Lifestyle and cookery show With Love, Meghan only ranked at number 383 in Netflix's six-monthly engagement report this year, with just 5.3million viewers across the globe.
It was beaten by reruns of the first four seasons of legal drama Suits, which also starred the Duchess in her pre-royal days.
Meghan was filmed for her show making ladybird-shaped canapes from cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls.
The show is a smash hit compared to her husband's docuseries Polo.
In the first six months of the year the programme attracted 500,000 views globally, ranking it at number 3,442 out of around 7,000 shows.

Wednesday part two trailer sees Gwendoline Christie return as spirit guide

The first half of its second series was released on August 6 and ended on a cliff-hanger, with viewers unsure as to whether Ortega's character had died. In the trailer, Wednesday is seen waking up in a hospital bed with Christie's Principal Weems, who is dressed in a nurse's uniform, telling her to 'rise and shine sleepyhead'. In another clip the former headteacher of Nevermore Academy tells Wednesday she is her new 'spirit guide' and at the end of the two-minute video she warns her: 'If you don't hurry, you'll have nothing left to save.' The teaser also shows Wednesday and her grandmother Hester Frump, played by Dame Joanna Lumley, shooting birds, and her mother Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, telling her that 'every family has dark chapters'. Among the other cast members of series two are Doctor Who star Billie Piper, who plays head of music Isadora Capri, and US actor Steve Buscemi, as the new head of the academy, Principal Dort. Christie, 46, said: 'I felt like I was returning to a group of friends who are all at the top of their game. Dame Joanna Lumley and Jenna Ortega in Wednesday (Bernard Walsh/Netflix/PA) 'It is such a pleasure for me to be a part of this emotional world, this imaginative world, and play the character of Larissa Weems, who I truly adore and really thought a lot about bringing into being.' Christie's character was murdered at the hands of Christina Ricci's character Marilyn Thornhill in season one. Co-creator Miles Millar said: 'When we got into the writers' room, we were determined to bring Gwen back. 'The audience has fallen in love with the Wednesday-Weems relationship … so we're bringing her back in the second half of the season in a very special way that is as confrontational as it is delicious.' Wednesday season two sees the protagonist explore another supernatural mystery while trying to navigate her newfound fame, which she tries to avoid. The character of Wednesday is based on the cartoons of Charles Addams, who inspired a 1960s TV series and the popular Addams Family films, starring Ricci as Wednesday. She plays a former teacher of Nevermore in Netflix's second series. Wednesday season two part two will be available on Netflix from September 3.

‘Ibiza Final Boss' is unrecognisable in throwback pic from long before viral fame – and WITHOUT iconic shades & stubble

A throwback pic of Final Boss has been unearthed, from even before the days of the bowl-cut trim. He's the only one with a pint in front of him and he's clearly been tucking into it. Young Jack stares down the camera with narrowed eyes and with his arm around one of his pals. His signature black vest has been replaced with a basic black tee - and the lack of a fat gold chain is another glaring difference. But there's a flick of the same pout he wore while grooving around in the original viral clip last week. A second pic shows Jack looking much more like the Ibiza Boss we all know so well, but again without the specs. Jack hasn't been pictured once without his sunnies since shooting to fame, donning them even when The Sun caught up with him in his barbers back home. The blacked-out shades have also remained glued to his face after he zoomed back out to the party island in a £5million private jet. Since returning to his stomping ground, Jack has embraced his new found fame with wild parties at a £9million mansion called The Blue Stone Villa. Tucked away in the hills of Ibiza, the glitzy gaff comes with a large outdoor swimming pool, private chef and its own indoor nightclub. One of those who made an appearance has already made headlines this summer after he was a part of FC Barcelona star Yamine Yamal's 18th birthday party. The teen sensation landed himself in hot water and is reportedly facing a government investigation after he allegedly hired people with dwarfism to perform. A video of the pair dancing was captioned: "The final boss and the mini boss out tonight, see you soon." It's also been revealed that the lad has been in talks with Big Brother, and even launched his music career with a brand new dance track. The song is bouncy and upbeat, making it perfect for clubbing or dancing in Ibiza. Fans have already gone wild over the new track. On the TV rumours, a source told The Sun: 'The Ibiza Final Boss has really captured the nation's imagination and is exactly the kind of character that makes for a fun Big Brother housemate. "Bosses had talks with his management, it is very late in the casting process for housemates but everyone thought worth a chat whether it be in time for this series, even as part of a task, or for the future. 'Jack's reps Neon Management have been inundated with offers for him so he's certainly going to be busy for at least the next few months. 'They've seen an unprecedented level of interest in him, and that's the nation loves him.'
