Meghan Markle Refuses To Film Netflix Show Inside Her Montecito Home, Instead Returns to $9.5 Million Rental to 'Protect That Safe Haven'

Benzinga and Yahoo Finance LLC may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below. It turns out even Netflix can't get Meghan Markle to open her front door. The Duchess of Sussex may promise an "at home" feel in her lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan", but that sunlit kitchen and cozy dining table on screen? They're inside a $9.5 million rental — not the $14.7 million Montecito, California, estate she shares with Prince Harry, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet. In an interview with People magazine, Meghan explained why her Netflix series — which premiered March 4 — was filmed in a nearby rental that mirrors the style of her own home. "I wanted to protect that safe haven," she said. "We're a close-knit family, and I love those moments—putting Lili down for a nap, having lunch together, having sacred time together at the end of the day." Don't Miss: Would you have invested in eBay or Uber early? The same backers are betting on . 'Scrolling To UBI' — Deloitte's #1 fastest-growing software company allows users to earn money on their phones. With a production crew topping 80 people, opening her actual kitchen wasn't an option. "Our kitchen is where Mama just cooks for the family, and with a crew of 80-plus people, that's a lot of people to have in your house!" Meghan said. She and Prince Harry, who married in 2018, purchased their Santa Barbara County property in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan shared how a unique palm tree on the grounds caught their attention during the first tour — a symbol, perhaps, of the privacy and peace they were looking for. Trending: This Jeff Bezos-backed startup will allow you to . That sense of privacy explains why the on-screen version of "home" is actually someone else's. According to Meghan's first season was shot at a nearby four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom property owned by local philanthropists Tom and Sherrie Cipolla. The couple purchased it for $4.7 million in 2017, and it's now valued at about $9.5 million. The location proved such a good fit that she returned to it for season two, rather than move production into her family's actual residence. Netflix's official description promised an "at home"-style experience with the former actress, so some viewers raised eyebrows when they learned the backdrop wasn't her real house. But for Meghan, that boundary seems non-negotiable. The Montecito estate is where Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet play, where family dinners happen without an audience, and where — as she puts it — the day ends in "sacred time together."For fans tuning in, the shift may not matter much. The rental property, with its sunlit kitchen, manicured gardens, and airy interiors, delivers the warm, aspirational vibe the show promises. And for Meghan, keeping her home off-limits preserves something even more valuable than a picture-perfect shot: the sanctuary she says keeps her grounded. As "With Love, Meghan" readies its second season, one thing seems clear — the Duchess is happy to share her California lifestyle, as long as the cameras know where to stop. Inside Burberry's Exclusive Hamptons Pop-Up At Topping Rose House

Plaid by the pool Burberry Not surprisingly, it's been a summer of luxury in the Hamptons—especially in Bridgehampton, which has certainly leveled up its shopping options for Summer 2025. From the Fwrd X Vivrelle store on Main Street to various pop-ups, including Ferragamo and Giorgio Armani X Kith at the famed Topping Rose House hotel, it's perfectly fitting that from August 14th to 17th, the space will welcome iconic British legacy brand Burberry . Burberry has already staged two other pop-ups in Europe this season. One was a full takeover at The Newt in Somerset, where guests could explore the estate from a Burberry Check hot-air balloon and shop the brand's boutique open through August 18th. The British fashion and accessory house also brought its signature style to Ibiza with a pop-up at The Standard Hotel, taking over the pool with custom loungers, parasols, branded seating, and even a Burberry boat. Plus, in true Ibiza style, parties with guest DJs. Check out the pool Burberry However, the Hamptons pop-up is the only one Burberry is hosting in the United States this summer. While undeniably festive, it still reflects the sophisticated refinement the Hamptons is known for. A local mainstay, the Topping Rose House is the only full-service luxury hotel in the area. Originally built as a private mansion in the 19th century, it is open year-round and features a chic, contemporary feel. The property is also home to a restaurant by famed chef Jean-Georges, which offers a local farm-to-table menu. Here's a look inside the pop-up boutique and branded pool area. The iconic British brand pops up Burberry While this pop-up isn't technically a full takeover of the hotel, Burberry has redesigned the pool area for the weekend, bringing a touch of the brand's signature plaid to the hot spot just before summer's end. The British-inspired summer escape was designed with sleek gray bespoke umbrellas as well as pool floats, pillows, and a charming lemonade cart, all dressed in the signature Burberry Check pattern. The brand truly transformed the space into the perfect spot for a weekend photo opp. England meets The Hamptons Burberry For those who can't get enough, the brand has made it really easy to bring home a stylish souvenir. The pop-up mini Burberry boutique is curated with a little something from most of the brand's categories. This includes womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, accessories, and fragrance, as well as home products. There are also summer staples, including Check swimwear (after all, season isn't quite over yet), alongside elevated offerings from both the Autumn and Winter 2025 collections. To add to the exclusivity, a selection of women's styles will debut at the pop-up, including day-to-night separates in silks and wools, with brocade and argyle patterns, as well as outerwear in a range of materials ideal for the coming winter months—such as leather, shearling, and mohair. And what would the shop be without a selection of beautiful accessories? New pieces inspired by the British house's equestrian heritage—such as the Highlands and Horseshoe shapes—will be available, along with the premiere release of the Bridle clutch.

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce And The Career Perks Of The Right Partner

Taylor Swift appeared on Travis Kelce's podcast this week, offering a rare glimpse into the relationship of this career-driven couple. Despite the glamorous lives of the pop icon and NFL superstar, Swift's anecdotes made their relationship seem completely relatable—whether it was baking sourdough bread for Kelce to take to training camp or laughing about overhearing his booming podcast voice from another room in their home. And if you're wondering whether their relationship might pull focus from her music or his football, the research suggests the opposite. The right relationship can boost your career. Here's what the data say about how a supportive relationship can elevate your career, regardless of whether you're selling out stadiums or climbing the corporate ladder. Partnering May Boost Your Career One survey found that a large majority of people feel happier at work when they are in a healthy relationship outside of work, and positive emotions tend to make you more productive. Indeed, Swift mentioned in the podcast that Kelce 'is a vibe booster.' When their relationships are going well, people actually spend more time at work. In addition, partners can be a great source of social support, and research indicates that people turn to their partners for support when they feel pressure at work. Another study found that those in a romantic relationship are more likely to achieve their goals at work. Partners who share resources, align on objectives and champion each other's ambitions can find themselves achieving more, as long as they are not in direct competition with one another or weighed down by different priorities. When Swift joined Kelce on his podcast, New Heights, she expanded her reach into the sports world and extended his reach to her loyal fans. For dual-career couples, there's one characteristic of your partner that's particularly important for your own career: conscientiousness. When your partner is organized, responsible and hardworking, it can impact your paycheck. Researchers found that for every unit increase in your spouse's conscientiousness, you're likely to earn $4000 more per year. Why? You're likely to mirror their diligent habits, and you're more satisfied in your relationship when you can count on your partner. Both Swift and Kelce seem to check this box. As an example of how partnering can lead to career success, researchers examined the women who had served as CEOs for Fortune 500 companies. Only one had never married. However, not all relationships result in a career boost. When conflict seeps into the relationship, it can impact focus and productivity. For example, 94% of finance professionals report struggling to focus at work when they're in conflict with their partner. In addition, competition between partners or clashing priorities can also undermine work productivity. A partner's work stress can impact you as well. If one partner brings home stress, it can spill over to the other partner. This is why Sheryl Sandberg, author of Lean In and former Meta executive, has long emphasized the importance of choosing the right life partner. As she put it, 'I truly believe that the single most important career decision that a woman makes is whether she will have a life partner and who that partner is. I don't know of one woman in a leadership position whose life partner is not fully—and I mean fully—supportive of her career. No exceptions.' Problems Can Arise When Women Earn More Swift became a billionaire in October 2023, and Forbes estimates her net worth at $1.6 billion. Kelce's success is also impressive. But despite an estimated $52 million net worth and a two-year $34.25 million contract extension signed last spring, Swift's earnings still outpace his by a wide margin. Research shows that this income disparity can present challenges for straight couples. One study of marriages between men and women found that as women earned a larger share of the household income, relationship satisfaction dropped, particularly for men. Men who earned less than their female partner reported feeling less masculine and more inadequate, and those feelings were linked to lower relationship quality. Women who outearned their husbands also reported feeling uncomfortable challenging traditional gender roles, though the effect was smaller than it was for men. Others have found a higher risk of relationship dissolution when the woman outearns her husband, and men in this situation have an 11% greater chance of being diagnosed with a mental health problem. Despite their higher earnings, women still typically shoulder more of the housework and caregiving, while men have more leisure time—though Swift and Kelce are likely to be able to afford any household help they need. The Additional Burden Of Public Scrutiny Finally, Swift and Kelce face an additional challenge of being in the public eye, which can add significant pressure to any relationship. One analysis found that celebrities are twice as likely to divorce as the rest of us, likely due to public scrutiny and the blurring of personal and professional boundaries. Swift and Kelce tend to keep their relationship very private, drawing a clear line between their personal and private lives. Swift explains in the podcast, that she never checks her social media, adding 'I'm not an online person at all.' It's a reminder, even for those of us who are not celebrities, of the value in carving out time just for your relationship, free from work obligations and the draw of social media.
