Taylor Swift-favoured Perthshire clothing firm celebrates a decade in business
A Perthshire clothing brand beloved by global superstar singer Taylor Swift is celebrating its tenth birthday.
The singing sensation had been spotted stepping out in a velvet dress created by Little Lies' fashion designer Jade Robertson in January 2024.
The multiple Grammy winner wore Jade's 'Sweet Jane' mini dress which sells for £58 while out for dinner in New York.
As well as celebrities like Swift, Denise Van Outen and Helena Bonham Carter have been seen sporting Little Lies' pieces over the years.
The Glencarse-based firm, founded by Jade and husband Stuart, began in a Kirkcaldy bedroom in 2015.
Its name comes from a Fleetwood Mac song and its inspiration from the flowing outfits of rock goddesses like the band's Stevie Nicks.
To mark the anniversary they have launched the 10 Pieces For 10 Years collection described as representing 'a decade of graft, heart and style'.
Co-founder Jade said the company's biggest success was in still being in business after a decade which has seen a pandemic, cost of living crises and tough conditions for independent retailers across the board.
Jade commented: 'Independent businesses have not had it easy over the last few years so we're delighted to be thriving in the current environment.
'There have been some incredible highs and some difficult times, but nothing pleases us more than seeing our customers all over the world loving the products we are coming up with right here in Perthshire.'
Each and every Little Lies piece is created at their current rural Perthshire headquarters and the firm work closely with trusted manufacturers to bring their unique designs to life.
Jade added: 'We are all about creating what we call 'future vintage' - the opposite of fast fashion, quality items you're going to love and wear again and again for years to come.
'That's been critical to the transformation and growth of the business over the past ten years and it is the key thing we hope to carry forward in to our second decade.'
Following Taylor Swift's 2024 endorsement the business received a big boost.
Jade said at the time: 'The response has been phenomenal – we sold out of the last few of the dresses that we had in stock and opened it up to pre-orders, and we've had customers from all around the world buying it.
'It has been bigger than anything we could have dreamed of, and that demand has gone across into our other items which has been great.
'It has opened us up to a new audience and we're delighted to have them checking us out.
'We are a small family business run by a small team and this was just so unexpected that we are mostly trying to play catch-up right now.'

Jason Kelce makes major change to his appearance ahead of Taylor Swift New Heights episode
Eagle-eyed fans have spotted a major change in Jason Kelce 's appearance ahead of Taylor Swift's long-awaited appearance on his and Travis' podcast. Chiefs star Kelce and girlfriend Swift sent fans into meltdown after confirming that the popstar would be the special guest for the upcoming episode of 'New Heights'. The social media accounts for the podcast shared a promo video from the episode and fans were quick to note a subtle difference in Jason's appearance. After sharing screenshots of the older of the Kelce brothers, from the video, and claimed that he had dyed his beard. One fan wrote: 'Biggest reveal of the Taylor swift album announcement was Jason Kelce's beautiful new beard paint job'. Well, Jason didn't try and hide from the fact that he had done so and, in response, wrote on X: 'I promise the dye was for a good reason, don't hate me'. The elder of the Kelce brothers did not deny the claims in a light-hearted post online A side-by-side comparison evidently showed that Jason had ditched his 'salt and pepper' beard look for a jet-black style for the Swift episode. Fans continued to debate the former Eagles star's new look on social media platform Threads. One wrote: 'I thought it looked a little less natural than normal'. Another speculated: 'Maybe is filming something & had to dye it. He doesn't seem like the type to do it for vanity sake'. While some fans decided to comment on Jason Kelce's beard, others were far too occupied with Taylor Swift 's new album reveal which occurred on the podcast. She released the news at 12:12am ET on August 12 and at the same time a clip appeared on the social media pages of New Heights, the podcast co-hosted by the Kelce brothers. 'So I wanted to show you something,' Swift, who is sitting alongside her boyfriend, tells Jason in the clip. 'What do we got?' he asks, while Travis smirks, sticks out his tongue and grows increasingly giddy. Eagled-eyed fans were quick to speculate as to why Kelce had dyed his beard Swift then digs out a personalized briefcase and opens it up. 'What's in it?' the elder Kelce brother asks. 'This is my brand new album, "The Life of a Showgirl,"' Swift explains, pulling out the record. The album cover is blurred in the New Heights video. 'TS 12!' shouts Travis, who is now covered in glitter, while Jason screams: 'ARGH!!' Shortly after midnight, the 20-second clip had amassed 38,000 retweets and 76,000 likes on X in just 20 minutes.

Great British Sewing Bee star flooded with support after breaking down in tears
The Great British Sewing Bee contestant was in tears after his design was praised, as it shared a link to his late mother A Great British Sewing Bee contestant broke down in tears after judges hailed his "beautiful" creation, which carried a poignant connection to his late mum. Judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young set the sewers a challenge this week to craft garments using reused and recycled materials, with many contestants bringing along old family clothing. Durham-based stitcher Dan, who started sewing aged just 10, gathered a collection of matching Christmas t-shirts his family had worn in 2022. His plan was to transform them into a single halter-neck dress, complete with a faux-fur muff. Discussing the accessory, he revealed: "This was a shawl that I made for my mum that she only wore once, unfortunately she passed away," reports Wales Online. "So I thought it'd be really nice to have her touch." When his finished creation was unveiled, Dan's garment was described as "beautiful" and he even claimed Garment of the Week honours. "I'm glad I did this, because I wanted my mum to be represented," he wept. He later reflected: "This week has been insane, I can't believe all the good comments they said. "It was really nice they got my vision and knew where I was going with it, especially this one in particular, it was really personal to me." Patrick also lauded Dan's finished piece, declaring: "It's absolutely stunning and such a beautiful story behind it. "The perfect way to go from an unwanted pile of old pyjamas into this beautiful, beautiful outfit." Following his victory, Dan said: "I've just got to trust my instincts and go with it. I'm glad that I did it on this week, where it was something so personal." Viewers were moved by the story behind his design, with one commenting: "Dan that dress was absolutely amazing mate. Thoroughly deserved garment of the week." Another viewer expressed: "Really pleased for Dan," while another added: "Definitely want to give Dan a huge cuddle." "Dan smashed it this week!" a fourth fan praised, while another admirer commented: "Well done Dan, that looked really good." The Great British Sewing Bee airs Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
