A galaxy of stars descended on Liverpool's Titanic Hotel for the Sedulo Foundation's annual Colour Ball on Thursday night. The event was a gathering of celebrities, supporters and business leaders, all united in their mission to raise crucial funds for children and young people living in poverty.
Claire Sweeney, Coronation Street actress and proud Liverpudlian, took on the role of host for the evening. She was joined by a plethora of famous faces including football legend Jamie Carragher and TV favourites such as Linda Robson, Dr Ranj, Real Housewives of Cheshire stars Seema Malhotra and Leanne Brown, and Nermina Pieters-Mekic.
Fashion guru and DJ Gok Wan led the entertainment, with UK Garage stars Lisa Maffia and Romeo, of So Solid Crew, delivering a roof-raising performance. The event was orchestrated by national advisory firm Sedulo, which boasts offices in Manchester, Liverpool, London, Leeds and Birmingham. The Colour Ball is a fundraising initiative for the firm's charitable arm, The Sedulo Foundation.
Last year's ball raised £200,000. This year's total exceeded that, making it the biggest event yet for the foundation with a huge £223,000 raised on the night.
Since its inception in 2022, the Sedulo Foundation has supported over 2,000 young people. Its initiatives include providing school equipment, sanitary products, and Christmas gifts for those in need, as well as creating employment opportunities for young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds.
This year's event also marked the launch of Fresh Starts, a new initiative providing hygiene kits, everyday wear, and interview-ready outfits for young people entering adulthood.

The daughter of the soap star took to her social media page to share a carefree video of herself riding the passenger seat of a convertible car in the sunshine as she lip-synced to the 1977 hit song Easy by Commodores. In the clip, She wore oversized sunglasses, and gold hoop earrings and rocked an off-the-shoulder jumper. In response, Scarlett wrote: 'God forbid a girl takes the chances she gets.' Fans shared their support for the teen in the comment section, with one user writing: "Girl it's jealousy! You enjoy every bit of it." ‌ Another said: "You have talent, regardless of your family." One fan posted: "God forbid a girl who has opportunities and doesn't waste them." Experts in the industry believed she would be able to bag a cool £2million from her content before she turns 18. ‌ PR expert Lynn Carratt told The Sun: "It's clear they're a close-knit family who understand how to use social media effectively to build their careers. They capitalise on TikTok trends, and each member is talented in their own right. "From a PR perspective, the family TikTok videos are an excellent platform for displaying the family's talent to a huge audience."

Coronation Street fans slam obnoxious character on ITV show

Lou Michaelis, played by Farrel Hegarty, has been dubbed "nasty" and "rude" by viewers with many also criticising the "dire" writing of her character. Taking to the Reddit page for Coronation Street, one fan of the ITV show penned: "She is very unlikable and her behaviour has been obnoxious. "The writers must think they have our emotions in their bag and can easily manipulate our response to any character. "First she had a bad in your face barking personality and stole booze from the hair salon. "Now she has Gary on her side promoting a supposedly sympathetic person who is, wait for it, a victim." Many viewers agreed with this assesment, with one person writing: "Exactly... She has been nasty... Rude." A third user said: "The actress is fine but the writing for her character is dire. This is Corrie now, characters change personality like the wind which makes it really hard for viewers to care." However, some voiced support for her, with one fan telling the others: "I must admit since Mick went to prison she's somewhat grown on me. "Showing a vulnerable side as opposed to being bolshie all the time. "Although if she supports Mick after what he's done then she needs to go." Lou Michaelis was introduced to the show in February and has since made waves in Weatherfield. She is also the mother of Brody, Joanie and Shanice Michaelis.
