Rod Stewart's son Sean enters rehab to address ADHD, substance abuse struggles

Express Tribune27-02-2025
Sean Stewart, the 44-year-old son of music icon Rod Stewart, has entered treatment at the Cliffside Malibu rehab facility to address a history of substance abuse, stemming from years of personal challenges.
As per Daily Mail, Stewart revealed that his struggles with addiction were rooted in ADHD, dyslexia, and childhood trauma."I've dealt with ADHD since I was young," Stewart explained, reflecting on his difficulties in school and the bullying he endured. "I was called 'Stupid Stewart,' which left a lasting impact." The developmental disorder, characterized by focus issues and impulsivity, paired with learning disabilities, contributed to feelings of inadequacy, especially growing up in the shadow of his father's massive fame.
Stewart shared that his struggles have been painful and ongoing, but he is now focused on addressing them in therapy. "Just because I've had ADHD and dyslexia doesn't mean I can't lead a successful life," he said, expressing hope for the future. He added that he aspires to overcome his challenges and eventually have a family, becoming the kind of father he wants to be.
In addition to seeking professional help, Stewart has previously opened up about his long-standing substance abuse, revealing that he began using drugs at the age of 13 and had a near-fatal overdose in 2001. He has been open about his path to recovery, including his appearance on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.
The Cliffside Malibu facility, known for its upscale amenities, offers therapies such as yoga, equine therapy, and access to a gym and outdoor pool. Stewart's entry into rehab marks another step in his journey toward healing and personal growth.
Sean Stewart is the eldest of Rod Stewart's children, having been born to his ex-wife, Alana Stewart.

Howard Stern future at SiriusXM uncertain as Jason Whitlock and Donald Trump criticize shock jock's direction

As Howard Stern's future at SiriusXM remains in doubt, controversial sports commentator Jason Whitlock has launched a scathing critique of the radio icon. During a recent episode of his show, Fearless with Jason Whitlock, the 58-year-old labeled Stern 'fraudulent and disappointing,' citing his political shift as a reason for his perceived decline. Stern, 71, has hosted The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM since 2006. His current five-year, $500 million contract is reportedly set to expire at the end of the year. According to the Daily Mail, Stern is in 'very serious negotiations' with the satellite radio company, with insiders suggesting he may consider a shorter one- or two-year extension—if financial terms can be met. Whitlock, once a fan of Stern's politically incorrect approach, blamed the host's pivot to progressive politics for losing his authenticity. 'He was politically incorrect, a shock jock and the best at that,' Whitlock said. 'And then, this guy pivoted into this woke clown.' He argued that cultural changes driven by the return of Donald Trump made Stern's brand of broadcasting less viable. Former President Trump also commented on Stern's future this week. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump told reporters: 'What happened, he got terminated? When he endorsed Hillary Clinton, he lost his audience.' Trump, who frequently appeared on Stern's show in the past, claimed Stern's downfall began after that 2016 endorsement. Insiders told Daily Mail that Stern's approximately 95-person staff recently learned of his indecision. While he may step away from daily broadcasting, he is reportedly considering selling his show's catalog for replay on SiriusXM's Howard 100 and 101 channels or returning for specials. With no official comment from Stern, SiriusXM, or Andy Cohen—whom Stern is said to believe is being favored—the fate of the 'King of All Media' remains up in the air.

Blake Lively accuses Justin Baldoni's lawyers of media manipulation with leaked deposition transcript

Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni's attorneys of orchestrating a media campaign by publicizing her recent deposition, according to a letter filed by her legal team and reported by Deadline. The dispute stems from Lively's ongoing lawsuit alleging harassment and retaliation during the production of the romantic drama film It Ends With Us. In a letter submitted to federal court on August 5, Lively's lawyers criticized Baldoni's team for releasing the full 292-page transcript of her July 31 deposition. The letter argues that the move served no legal purpose and was designed to generate publicity. 'The transcript was ostensibly filed to argue that Bryan Freedman and his firm have not engaged in a smear campaign,' attorney Esra Hudson wrote. 'But in fact, this tactic perfectly demonstrates the counsel-as-PR-agent role.' Hudson also alleged that Baldoni's team immediately leaked details of the deposition—including Lively's arrival time, attire, and presence of her husband Ryan Reynolds—to tabloid media. Outlets such as TMZ and Daily Mail published details soon after the deposition took place at Lively's attorney's Manhattan office. Lively's lawyers emphasized that the setting was misrepresented, stating that Baldoni and several others were present during the deposition, along with eight attorneys representing his side. They called the transcript filing a 'manufactured excuse' to expose private legal proceedings. A countersuit filed by Baldoni for $400 million was dismissed in June. Lively's trial against Baldoni is scheduled to begin on March 9, 2026. Meanwhile, Baldoni is pursuing a separate legal battle with insurance companies over coverage for his legal fees. Later on August 5, Lively's legal team filed a motion for sanctions against Freedman, citing alleged pre-trial slander and character attacks. Representatives for both sides have declined to comment publicly.

Pamela Anderson addresses Meghan Markle cooking show comparisons, says it's 'Not a Rip-Off'

Pamela Anderson has responded to claims that Meghan Markle's new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, copies the concept of her own cooking show, Pamela's Cooking with Love. During her August 4 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Anderson how much she thought Markle's series was a 'rip-off,' on a scale of 1 to 10. Anderson, 58, dismissed the idea, answering, 'One. I didn't really look, but I mean, I didn't invent cooking shows.' She added that the Duchess of Sussex is 'just doing her thing.' Speculation of overlap began when Markle's series trailer dropped in early 2025, just three months after Anderson's teaser premiered in October 2024. Fans quickly noted visual and thematic similarities between the two shows — including the garden-to-kitchen aesthetic, lifestyle tone, and nearly identical taglines. Both series feature their hosts cooking in rustic kitchens, harvesting fresh produce, and inviting guests to collaborate on recipes. In Markle's trailer, she says, 'I've always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it,' which closely echoes Anderson's line, 'I just have always wanted to take things to another level.' Despite the comparisons, Anderson appears unfazed. However, her show's co-creator and executive producer Jesse Fawcett commented on the timing in a statement to the Daily Mail shortly before Markle's show premiered. 'We take pride in planting the first seeds — creating original, distinctive programming that audiences love — and it's a compliment to see our work with Ms. Anderson resonate so strongly,' he said. While Markle has not commented publicly, her show is now streaming on Netflix. Anderson's Pamela's Cooking with Love is available on Amazon Prime.
