Angeldahl strike ensures 1-0 win for Sweden over Denmark in Women's Euros
Real Madrid's Angeldahl, who scored in friendlies against Denmark and Norway last month, played a one-two with Kosovare Asllani as she entered the box from the right and netted a right-footed shot near the far post in the 55th minute after a tight first half.
Denmark had fought hard to stay in the game as Sweden dominated possession, with Katrine Veje's tackle denying Stina Blackstenius in the 17th minute and keeper Maja Bay Ostergaard tipping over Angeldahl's free kick near the top corner just before the break.
Blackstenius almost scored Sweden's second goal shortly after the hour mark but her shot from close range was saved on the line by Frederikke Thogersen, leading to a groan from the more than 17,000 spectators in attendance.
Denmark, who had only 10 attempts in the game, almost half of Sweden's, came dramatically close to equalising in the 81st minute when Thogersen found Pernille Harder with a quick pass on the right, but the Danish captain's thundering drive hit the crossbar.

BERLIN :Bayer Leverkusen have signed France central defender Loic Bade from Sevilla on a five year contract, last season's Bundesliga runners-up said on Thursday. Leverkusen, who kick off their Bundesliga season against Hoffenheim on Saturday, have seen more than half a dozen players leave in the close season, including central defender Jonathan Tah, Florian Wirtz and playmaker Granit Xhaka. They had won the domestic league and Cup double in 2024. "In Loic Bade we have signed a young but very experienced central defender. He's used to playing against absolutely world-class strikers in La Liga in Spain," said Leverkusen managing director sport Simon Rolfes. "Loic is physically uncompromising and can read the game, an absolute addition to strengthening our defence. We are competitive at the highest level with this defence." The 25-year-old France international started his career at Le Havre and also had a short loan spell at Nottingham Forest before spending two and a half seasons in Spain with Sevilla, with whom he won the Europa League in 2023.

Rallying-FIA announces tender for new WRC promoter
Motorsport's governing body announced on Thursday a tender process to replace Red Bull and German investment company KW25 as commercial rights holders of the World Rally Championship (WRC). The International Automobile Federation (FIA) said JPMorgan would act as financial advisor to Red Bull and KW25, who jointly own Munich-based WRC Promoter GmbH - the commercial arm responsible for media, sponsorship rights, and television production. The promoter, which also oversees the European Rally Championship, took over the WRC rights in 2013 and still had seven years remaining on the contract, according to sources. Reuters reported a year ago that the owners were preparing a potential sale with a target valuation of up to 500 million euros ($581 million). The WRC has been in existence since 1973 and this year features 14 rounds on different continents with the showcase Monte Carlo Rally opening the season in January. "The tender process for the commercial rights holder is a big opportunity for a new enterprise to take the championship into its next chapter with renewed energy and investment," said the FIA's deputy president for sport Malcolm Wilson. "We will work with Red Bull and KW25 to find the best fit for this important role." The FIA said the championship had surged in popularity with a cumulative television audience of 1.3 billion and more than four million on-site visitors in 2024, with huge further growth potential. Paraguay makes its debut hosting a round of the championship this weekend and the sport is looking into a future round in the United States. "I am confident that, together with the right partner, we can take the championship to the next level, preserve its proud heritage, and grow its global reach for generations of fans to come," said FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
