Chelsea legend splits from his wife of 26 years - with Premier League icon sharing an emotional post on social media
The 43-year-old took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal the news to fans with an emotional statement.
Cech and Martina had been together since they were teenagers and she was by his side throughout his legendary footballing career.
The pair have two children named named Damian (16) and Adela Cechova (17).
Cech made the announcement alongside a black and white picture of himself and Martina in which she is kissing him on the cheek.
He wrote: 'Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together.
'We remain best friends and immensely proud of our two children.'
The Czechs first met in high school in 1999 and went on to marry in the summer of 2003.
Both of their children are attempting to follow in the footsteps of their famous father.
Daughter Adela is a defender and plays for both Fulham and Czechia U17.
And their son Damian, a goalkeeper just like his dad, signed his first professional contract with the London club earlier this year.
Damian previously played for Chelsea before making the swap from blue to white.
Petr, meanwhile, told indnes.cz: 'I didn't push my children into football, but they found it anyway. They just live with my name, so they have been the target of comparison since they were young.'
Damian had joined Fulham's Under-15 set-up, and made his debut for his country's Under-18s in August last year at just 15.
Adela made her debut for Czechia's youth side in February against Mexico in the MIMA Cup.
Cechova is described by her coach, Daniel Smejkal, as 'a promising defender' who the set-up wanted to 'get to know better' during the camp in Spain.
She came on during the second half of her side's game against Mexico, though Czechia were on the wrong side of a 3-0 scoreline.
Having missed her birth in 2008, Cech told the People magazine: 'It was the best day of my life and at the same time the saddest. I was happy to be a father and proud of my wife, but sad to have missed the birth.
'My daughter decided she would come in the middle of the night without me being able to do anything, so I had to wait glued to the phone.'
Cech was absent from the birth because he was with the Chelsea squad ahead of a League Cup semi-final against Everton.
The Premier League icon spent more than a decade with the Blues, joining in 2004 from French side Rennes and going onto make just short of 500 appearances before moving across London.
After leaving Chelsea, he signed for Arsenal and went onto play 139 times in goal for the Gunners, donning his famous helmet that he had to wear due to an injury sustained earlier in his career.

Bangor-born Broadhead was in the final year of his contract with Ipswich, where he scored 23 goals in 83 season Broadhead, who started his professional career at Everton, scored two goals in 18 Premier League games for Kieran McKenna's side."He's just got that Championship pedigree, the ability to create something in tight situations, you need players to unlock the door and create key moments in games and Nathan's got that," Parkinson added."He's shown it at Ipswich at levels over the past few seasons and obviously the story of him coming home is a great one as well."He was really keen to come here and I'm really looking forward to working with him." Broadhead is Wrexham's ninth signing since they were promoted from League One last season – their third successive automatic Dragons have broken their transfer record on numerous occasions since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took control of the club in acknowledged the backing of the club's owners in preparing a squad to compete in the Championship this season."I think it's key - there's a lot of spending power in the division," Parkinson said."I think from day one we've moved so quickly and we've always had to work hard as a club to fast track the quality level for the first team as we've always played catch-up."But we've come to this division very quickly and it's important that we bought in Championship standard players to help us on this journey and also assist the existing players who've done so well over the last few years."

Ruben Amorim reveals alternative if Man Utd don't sign Carlos Baleba
Ruben Amorim has named Mason Mount as an option in central midfield if Manchester United fail to strengthen in the middle of the park. United have rebuilt their attack with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko arriving at Old Trafford this summer, along with young talent Diego Leon at left-back. But issues remain unresolved in midfield – an area of the pitch that caused United major problems last season. Questions remain over Casemiro's ability to withstand the pace of the Premier League after another draining campaign last term while Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte have seldom shown promise as a midfield duo. Toby Collyer has been given the green light to join West Brom on loan with Bruno Fernandes expected to get more games in a deeper role. Metro's new weekly football newsletter: In The Mixer. Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every Friday – sign up, it's an open goal. United are eager to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton but could be priced out of a move this summer. The Seagulls value the 21-year-old at £100million and while the midfielder is thought to be keen on the move, any deal may have to wait until this time next year. While Sporting CP star Morten Hjulmand has been linked, there does not appear to a genuine alternative to Baleba in mind. In any case, Amorim is prepared to make do with what he has at his disposal – viewing Mount as another option. 'I'm really happy with our players, they are working really well, we have different players for that position, so we are prepared to win any game with our players,' Amorim told a press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday. 'Maybe Mason Mount is a player that can play in that position if we want something different. 'But then we are going to find out during the season. But we have players to cope and win games in the Premier League.' More Trending Mount has largely operated in an attacking midfield role for Chelsea, England and United. Amorim is a huge admirer of the 26-year-old who has endured an injury-hit spell in Manchester since arriving from Stamford Bridge in 2024. Mount picked up a hamstring injury early on in Amorim's tenue last year but returned late in the campaign, scoring twice in the Europa League semi-final win over Athletic Club.
