The Swiss goalkeeper joined the club in 2022 under Ange Postecoglou but found his position uncertain when Rodgers took charge.
He was given a chance in a pre-season friendly against Athletic Club, but was told he hadn't adapted well enough to the system.

On The Bondi Podcast, the keeper said: "Then I just wanted to have a chat with the manager and say, 'Hey, what are you thinking?
"And he was like, 'Yeah, you're not really for me'."
Despite Rodgers' clear message, Siegrist remained at Celtic for another season, making two competitive appearances.
He then moved on to FC Rapid of Romania under Neil Lennon last summer.
Currently, on loan at Genoa from Rapid, Siegrist played twice in the Serie A last season.

Rangers joined them in the hat after an unexpected nervy game against Alloa at Ibrox, with the game finishing 4-2. Also joining the two Old Firm clubs in the next stage includes Aberdeen, Motherwell, Partick Thistle and St Mirren, with Hearts KNOCKED OUT on penalties in Paisley. Aberdeen ensured they would be in the hat after coasting to a 3-0 win over Morton at Cappielow. Under-fire striker Kusini Yengi grabbed his first goal for the club.
