Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta chaired a high-level meeting on Saturday to strengthen the city's real estate system and make it more transparent, efficient, and development-focused, according to an official statement.During the meeting, the "Government-Industry Taskforce on Real Estate Report" was formally submitted to the government.This report was jointly prepared by major stakeholders, including the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and real estate consultancy CBRE.The report outlined 10 major challenges currently faced by Delhi's real estate sector, such as unauthorised colonies, housing societies, redevelopment of colonies, and modernization of infrastructure in industrial zones and suggested practical, implementable solutions for each.Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reaffirmed her government's commitment to revamp the sector. She said that the government is committed to moving Delhi towards a structured, transparent, and citizen-friendly real estate model.Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, senior representatives from MCD, DDA, DMRC, the Registrar of Co-operative Societies (RCS), and CII attended the meeting.Officials said the report will serve as a blueprint for policy reforms and structural changes in the capital's real estate ecosystem.Meanwhile, the Delhi Government will soon unveil a new excise policy aimed at making liquor distribution transparent, accountable, and modern, while prioritising social welfare and protecting vulnerable communities, according to an official statement.As per the statement, the Delhi Government is set to roll out a new Excise Policy soon. The primary objective of this policy is to ensure the availability of quality liquor to the citizens of the capital and to make the sale and distribution system transparent, modern, and accountable.CM Rekha Gupta clearly stated that social security will remain the top priority in the new excise policy. The government will ensure that the policy does not adversely impact sensitive sections of society, as stated in the statement.Further, as per the statement, the Delhi government is committed to ensuring that no aspect of the policy negatively affects sensitive sections of society and that vulnerable communities' safety, health, and peace are not compromised in any way.A high-level committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government, is currently working on formulating this policy.The committee is also reviewing the excise policies of several other states to adopt best practices that prioritise effective liquor distribution and social protection, the release said.

Earlier in the days, ahead of Ludhiana West bypolls, BJP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying 'those who cheated and looted Delhi are today looting Punjab.' CM Gupta was campaigning for the BJP candidate, Jiwan Gupta, for the Ludhiana West bye-election scheduled for June 19. AAP has fielded sitting Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora from the seat, which fell vacant after the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi. The counting is on June 23. Gupta stated, 'Those who cheated and looted Delhi are today looting Punjab. We will not let this happen. The people of Delhi have sent me to Ludhiana. I have come here to tell the people about all their (AAP) acts, all their stories of corruption.' Her remarks targeted AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, whom she earlier accused of causing spurious liquor deaths in Punjab and burdening the border state with a 'Rs 4 lakh crore debt.' Speaking to ANI, she also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring Punjab's security through Operation Sindoor, while slamming the Congress for lacking patriotism. Gupta said, 'These (Congress) people do not love the country, its soil, the Army, or its people. Today, Punjab is safe only because of PM Narendra Modi.' CM for lower amalgamation charges, green bldg expansion
New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta has directed the task force on infrastructure reforms to review and rationalise the high amalgamation charges for commercial plots in the city. She also asked during the meeting on Saturday that the framework be extended to include residential plots, aiming to create a more harmonised and investor-friendly policy. She said on Saturday that there was a need to effectively implement a single-window approval system to make doing business in Delhi seamless, efficient and investment-friendly. Chairing a high-level meeting attended by cabinet minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, senior officials from MCD, DDA, DMRC, registrar of co-operative societies, and representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the chief minister laid strong emphasis on easing construction-related procedures and improving inter-agency coordination. Among the key proposals was the single-window clearance system, standardised development control norms across civic bodies, and time-bound approvals for large-scale projects. Gupta also reviewed the green building policy, directing that it be broadened beyond commercial structures to cover residential properties as well. "Sustainable development must reflect in every part of Delhi — homes and high-rises alike," she said, instructing the task force to design a more inclusive framework. She stressed the need of eliminating bureaucratic hurdles for entrepreneurs. The task force has been asked to automate and simplify existing business-related procedures and submit a report recommending digital reforms with specific timelines. The task force presented a report which included several significant recommendations for the overall development of the city. The key proposals included the single-window clearance system, standardised development control norms across all agencies, and time-bound approvals for large-scale projects. The 10-point report also recommended a reduction in amalgamation charges for commercial plots, no requirement of revised layout plans in MCD areas, having a green building policy to incentivise sustainable infrastructure development, rationalisation of property tax, optimum utilisation of land allotted to DMRC, and reduction in FAR for hotel and other commercial plots. The task force also proposed that slum redevelopment should be encouraged under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The chief minister stated that the task force has to submit a report on facilitating ease of doing business.

Delhi CM campaigns for Jiwan Gupta, accuses Arvind Kejriwal of corruption
Ludhiana: Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, who was in the city on Sunday to solicit votes for BJP candidate Jiwan Gupta, trained guns at AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and his Delhi cabinet. She accused them of indulging in corrupt practices over the past 10 years. She said that fresh cases had been registered against Kejriwal and his team and those out on bail could land in jail at any time. She added that the AAP government had not presented a single CAG report in the assembly in the past 10 years, while they had brought six such reports. Now, she said, the law would take its course on corruption. Rekha Gupta also accused former Delhi minister Manish Sisodia of not responding to summons sent to him in lieu of the Ludhiana bypoll. Listing AAP's failures, she said, "Smoke choking Delhi after stubble burning is a major issue, and the AAP government claimed to have developed a medicine to solve the problem. The medicine was not developed but this government spent Rs 80 crore on advertisement. They installed a tower for Rs 2 lakh and spent Rs 24 crore on advertisement. They also announced that they would organise a shopping festival in Delhi.
