CM for lower amalgamation charges, green bldg expansion
New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta has directed the task force on infrastructure reforms to review and rationalise the high amalgamation charges for commercial plots in the city.
She also asked during the meeting on Saturday that the framework be extended to include residential plots, aiming to create a more harmonised and investor-friendly policy.
She said on Saturday that there was a need to effectively implement a single-window approval system to make doing business in Delhi seamless, efficient and investment-friendly.
Chairing a high-level meeting attended by cabinet minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, senior officials from MCD, DDA, DMRC, registrar of co-operative societies, and representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the chief minister laid strong emphasis on easing construction-related procedures and improving inter-agency coordination.
Among the key proposals was the single-window clearance system, standardised development control norms across civic bodies, and time-bound approvals for large-scale projects.
Gupta also reviewed the green building policy, directing that it be broadened beyond commercial structures to cover residential properties as well. "Sustainable development must reflect in every part of Delhi — homes and high-rises alike," she said, instructing the task force to design a more inclusive framework.
She stressed the need of eliminating bureaucratic hurdles for entrepreneurs. The task force has been asked to automate and simplify existing business-related procedures and submit a report recommending digital reforms with specific timelines.
The task force presented a report which included several significant recommendations for the overall development of the city. The key proposals included the single-window clearance system, standardised development control norms across all agencies, and time-bound approvals for large-scale projects.
The 10-point report also recommended a reduction in amalgamation charges for commercial plots, no requirement of revised layout plans in MCD areas, having a green building policy to incentivise sustainable infrastructure development, rationalisation of property tax, optimum utilisation of land allotted to DMRC, and reduction in FAR for hotel and other commercial plots. The task force also proposed that slum redevelopment should be encouraged under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The chief minister stated that the task force has to submit a report on facilitating ease of doing business.

A dedicated research and development (R&D) centre will be a vital part of the project, driving innovation and facilitating advanced product development. This R&D unit is expected to contribute not only to local progress but also to the global advancement of EV technologies. The establishment of the EV park will not only position Kanpur as an EV manufacturing hub, but will also significantly boost the state's economy. Alongside the park, an integrated EV components cluster is being developed to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in producing parts and components. This will create fresh opportunities for local entrepreneurs, startups, and generate substantial employment. Its proximity to the DFCC corridor gives the park a strategic advantage in terms of logistics and connectivity. Well-connected by rail and road networks, it will facilitate smooth transportation of raw materials and finished goods. This initiative by the Yogi government is also a significant step toward promoting clean energy and environmental conservation. By accelerating EV production, the project aims to reduce carbon emissions and enhance the adoption of sustainable energy sources . The EV park under the Kanpur Development Vision – 2030 will serve as a symbol of industrial innovation and progress, placing Kanpur prominently on the global electric vehicle manufacturing map.

"Way double-engine govt has started working in Delhi is commendable": CM Rekha Gupta
New Delhi [India], June 16 (ANI): Stressing that there will be more progress in the national capital in the coming days, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday said that the Centre has supported the Delhi government in building world-class infrastructure in the city, further adding that the Central government is working 'shoulder to shoulder' with her administration. Delhi CM Gupta, along with Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, inaugurated an exhibition highlighting 11 years of the NDA government and 100 days of the current Delhi government. Speaking to the media, CM Gupta said, 'Today, I am very happy that the Central Government has completed 11 years and the Delhi Government has completed 100 days, and the way the double-engine government has started working in Delhi is commendable. The Centre has always worked a lot for Delhi, but unfortunately, the previous government neither recognised their efforts nor gave them credit.' 'However, today, when we look at the progress, we have received significant support from the Centre in building world-class infrastructure in Delhi. Through roadways alone, we received support worth Rs 1.25 lakh crore. Similarly, major schemes like Ayushman Bharat, which were previously not implemented here, have now been supported by the Centre. We have opened Arogya Mandirs (health centres). In every project, the Centre is working shoulder to shoulder with Delhi,' Rekha Gupta added. Drawing a comparison with the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, the Delhi CM said that the difference now is that no one is blaming each other anymore, and everything seems more organised. 'In Delhi, whatever targets we have taken up, be it air pollution, cleaning the Yamuna, tackling garbage mountains, or improving water and electricity, there will be more progress and better work done on all fronts,' she emphasised. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, speaking on the occasion, said that the 'triple-engine' government --at the Centre, in Delhi, and in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) --is now well-positioned to deliver on promises of development. 'I've seen Delhi evolve since just after partition, when the city's population was around 11-12 lakh. After successive waves of migration, the population has now crossed over 2 crore. You can see the results of the triple-engine government we now have--at the Centre, in Delhi, and in the MCD. With PM Modi's 11 years of governance and the support of local bodies, we have no excuses left. We must now deliver on the promises of development and ensure Delhi gets what it rightfully deserves. When PM Modi took charge in 2014, India's GDP was 2 trillion dollars. Today, it has reached 4 trillion dollars,' he said. Earlier on Sunday, Rekha Gupta expressed confidence that the Haryana government would continue extending full cooperation in the development of the national capital. Speaking to mediapersons in Haryana's Karnal, CM Gupta said, '... I believe that Delhi will keep getting full cooperation from the state of Haryana... Some forces are acting like an eclipse on the state of Punjab, which is why neither Punjab is able to develop nor maintain proper coordination with other states.' Held under the guidance of Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary of the Tourism Department, the workshop focused on diversifying tourism experiences beyond the traditional tiger safaris. The event emphasised sustainability, adventure, and cultural integration. Stakeholders from the tourism and conservation sectors gathered to explore strategies for increasing tourist footfall, even during the monsoon closure of core zones, by promoting buffer areas through alternative tourism models. Speaking at the workshop, Dr S K Srivastava, Joint Director of the Adventure Sports Department, said Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a hub for adventure tourism in India. Activities like skydiving, cycling safaris, and trekking are gaining popularity under the Tourism Board's Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Hotel and resort operators suggested renaming Khatiya Gate, claiming that many tourists mistakenly believe it lacks access to core zones or tiger sightings, which leads to confusion and discourages visits. The MPTB, in partnership with private adventure operators, will host a series of events from 14 to 17 August, including a marathon, trekking expeditions, star gazing, and the 'Tour of Kanha' cycling event—expected to boost off-season tourism and promote Kanha as a diverse destination. As part of the programme, attendees visited the Baiga Art Gallery in Mocha and enjoyed a live performance of traditional Baiga dance, showcasing the region's tribal culture. Sonali Dev, SDM of Bichhiya, said adventure tourism and tribal heritage are the twin pillars of Mandla's tourism development. Efforts are also underway to secure Green Destination Certification for Kanha National Park, similar to Pachmarhi. This international recognition, based on Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards, is expected to boost Kanha's appeal among eco-conscious international travellers.
