Maine man killed by ‘mini cannon' projectile during fireworks display
Joseph Hennessey, 41, crumpled to the ground and succumbed to his injuries after he was rushed to a local hospital in Oxford County Saturday night, the county sheriff's office said, according to reports.

The fireworks show was taking place at a town of Oxford home when tragedy struck.
'I heard a pretty big bang, which I thought was probably a cannon because I've heard them and I've seen them at different places that I've been at,' neighbor Kevin Boutin told WMTW.
'Then the fireworks stopped and then all of a sudden, the ambulance was here and the fire trucks.'
The incident happened at a town of Oxford home.

The medical examiner's office ruled that Hennessey, a South Paris resident, was killed by a projectile that came from a mini cannon during the fireworks, the station reported.
The death is still under investigation by the Maine State Police.
The incident is one of numerous fatalities involving fireworks during the summer months, including an 8-year-old girl who was struck during a Fourth of July celebration this year and South Carolina father who was killed when he put a lit fireworks on his head last year.

UPDATE at 1:25 p.m. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A man has been taken into custody for a suspected arson that may have caused the fire at the Sangamon Tower, according to Springfield's Fire Chief. Decatur emergency agencies respond to vacant healthcare facility fire Springfield Fire Chief Nick Zummo confirmed with WCIA that a man has been taken into custody as a 'person of interest' for a suspected arson that caused this fire. Additionally, two people were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor burns. A third person at the scene also experienced a 'medical incident,' but it is unclear at this time if this was a result of the fire. Zummo said that only a few residents were displaced as a result of this fire. Even though an arrest has been made, the official cause of the fire is still under investigation. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — At least one person was injured in a fire at the Sangamon Tower in Springfield Wednesday morning, and agencies also responded to a related vehicle accident. In a pair of Facebook posts, the Springfield Fire Department and Springfield Fire Fighters Local 37 said they were responding to a fire at that building, which is near Carpenter Street. The initial engine on the scene with Springfield firefighters began an offensive attack from the nearest stairwell in the building. Life-size sex doll found in Idaho river after cops spend 3 hours searching for reported body
A three-hour frantic police search for a reported body in an Idaho river led deputies to discover a life-size sex doll, according to authorities and reports. Deputies were alerted to what was believed to be human remains seen in the Blackfoot River roughly 16 miles away from Soda Springs on Thursday morning, Caribou County Sheriff Adam Mabey told East Idaho News. The department launched a full-out drone search of the river, and a search-and-rescue team was deployed to go into the water — only to learn the body was actually a sex doll, the outlet reported.
