Egypt FM delivers a message from El-Sisi to Mauritanian president - Foreign Affairs

Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty delivered a written message from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to his Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, during an official visit to Nouakchott on Tuesday.​
During a meeting with the Mauritanian president, Abdelatty highlighted the deep-rooted historical ties between both nations.
He affirmed Cairo's desire to elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership, particularly in the economic domain, according to a foreign ministry statement.
Abdelatty expressed his appreciation to Mauritania for backing Egyptian candidates in international forums, including its support for Khaled El-Anany, Egypt's nominee for UNESCO director-general.
He pointed to the launch of the Egypt-Mauritania Economic Forum, held on the sidelines of the joint committee meetings, as a catalyst for enhanced investment partnerships. He also spotlighted several joint projects in Mauritania that are expected to see significant breakthroughs through Egyptian involvement.
The minister also commended President Ghazouani's leadership in promoting stability and security in the Sahel region and reaffirmed Egypt's support for Mauritania's counterterrorism efforts, including enhanced bilateral cooperation in this domain.
Minister Abdelatty briefed the Mauritanian president on Egypt's efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid.
The two sides also exchanged views on a host of regional issues, including the situations in Libya, Sudan, Syria, and Lebanon, the statement noted.
For his part, President Ghazouani lauded Egypt's pivotal role in promoting peace and stability across the region.

CAIRO - 3 June 2025: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that his meeting on Monday with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi was 'very good', noting that it was his fourth meeting with the Egyptian president in the past ten months, in addition to two other meetings between the Iranian and Egyptian presidents during the same period. During an interview Al Qahera News Channel, Araghchi said that the meeting tackled serious and important issues. 'We spoke in detail about a number of regional issues, including the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, and I listened to President Sisi's perspective on this matter,' Iranian Foreign Minister said. 'We also discussed bilateral relations between Iran and Egypt, and I noted the shared will of both sides to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields,' He added. Araghchi stated that it was also agreed to hold political consultations at the foreign minister level between Egypt and Iran, to include bilateral, regional, and international issues. He continued: 'On the international level, we share many commonalities, as we cooperate in a number of international organizations. Regarding regional issues, we have convergent views, particularly regarding the Palestinian issue and the rights of the Palestinian people, in addition to the situations in Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon, and the nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States. We have agreed to hold consultations on all these issues.' Regarding bilateral relations, the minister explained that an agreement was reached to enhance trade cooperation between the two countries. Egypt congratulates Bahrain on election as UNSC non-permanent member - Foreign Affairs

Egypt congratulated Bahrain on Tuesday following its election by the UN General Assembly to serve as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for a two-year term. In a statement, the Egyptian foreign ministry said that this election, which featured a large number of votes, reflects the full confidence placed in Bahrain and its wise policies. Egypt expressed its full confidence that Bahrain will play an active and constructive role in the UNSC in support of international peace and security. The ministry emphasised that Bahrain will serve as a genuine Arab voice defending the causes and shared interests of the Arab nation in this important international forum. Additionally, the statement highlighted Egypt's belief that this election reflects the esteemed standing and credibility Bahrain enjoys on the international stage. It also affirms the international community's confidence in Bahrain's ability to contribute effectively to promoting international peace and security, the ministry said. Bahrain has secured a non-permanent seat on the UNSC for the 2026–2027 term, following a vote at the UN General Assembly in New York, where it received 186 out of 187 votes. Colombia, Latvia, Liberia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo were also elected to as non-permanent members of the UNSC, serving through the end of 2027.
