Amir, UK PM discuss ways to promote ties

His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed with Prime Minister of the friendly United Kingdom HE Keir Starmer bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them in various fields.
This came during a phone call HH the Amir received on Wednesday from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The call also touched on the latest regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip, where both sides stressed the need to ensure sufficient humanitarian aid reaches the people of the Strip and the priority of achieving an immediate ceasefire.

QNA Cairo The State of Qatar participated in the Arab League Council's extraordinary session at the level of permanent delegates, held on Sunday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo. This is a continuation of the crimes of aggression, genocide and ethnic cleansing committed over the past 673 consecutive days, including the imposition of a deadly siege and the use of a systematic policy of starvation as a weapon of genocide.

Israel's latest plans will trigger another calamity in Gaza: UN
The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, placing Palestinians in peril and further endangering the lives of the captives, Miroslav Jenca, the UN assistant secretary-general for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas, has told the UN Security Council. The latest plans for Gaza by the government of Israel risk 'igniting another horrific chapter in this conflict, with potential consequences beyond Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory', he said in his opening remarks. Jenca pointed out that details are not finalised yet, but the government foresees the displacement of all civilians from Gaza City by October 7, 2025, affecting some 800,000 people, many of them previously displaced. The Israeli army would then surround the city for three months, followed by an additional two months to seize control of central Gaza's camps. 'We are already witnessing a humanitarian catastrophe of unimaginable scale in Gaza,' he said. 'If these plans are implemented, they will likely trigger another calamity in Gaza, reverberating across the region and causing further forced displacement, killings and destruction, compounding the unbearable suffering of the population.' Global rallies demand end to Israel's war on Gaza and unrestricted aid
agencies Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators have held rallies and marches in cities around the world in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, demanding an end to Israeli attacks on the besieged and bombarded enclave as Israel-imposed starvation engulfs the entire population. In London, the Metropolitan Police said it arrested more than 466 people at a protest on Saturday against the British government's decision to ban the group Palestine Action. British lawmakers proscribed Palestine Action under anti-terrorism legislation in July after some of its members broke into a Royal Air Force base and damaged planes as part of a series of protests. The group accuses the UK government of complicity in what it calls Israeli war crimes in Gaza. Protesters, some wearing black-and-white Palestinian scarves and waving Palestinian flags, chanted, 'Hands off Gaza' and held placards with the message 'I oppose genocide.
