"Show your patriotism and embrace the spirit of Merdeka!" he said in a post on Facebook.
Through a poster attached to the post, he said the spirit of Merdeka should not be seasonal, but must be embraced everywhere and at all times.
"I define the Merdeka spirit with the acronym: M for manifesting loyalty, E for empathy for the people, R for relevance, D for dedication, E for emotion, K for 'Karisma' (charismatic) and A for 'amanah' (trustworthy)," he said.
On July 27, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil called on all Malaysians to support the 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang Campaign to demonstrate love for the country and a symbol of unity ahead of the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 celebrations.
The 1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang Campaign was held to instil a sense of patriotism among the population, thus ensuring that patriotism is always at its highest level. - Bernama

Removal Of Service Confirmation Requirement Makes It Easier For Civil Servants To Perform Haj
PUTRAJAYA, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- The removal of the confirmation-in-service requirement for civil servants on permanent appointment to qualify for Haj leave will provide more opportunities for Muslim civil servants to fulfil the fifth pillar of Islam, says Public Service Department (PSD) director-general Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz. He said the move was expected to greatly benefit thousands of civil servants who had registered early to perform the Haj at a young age. 'Previously, the rules stated that only confirmed civil servants were eligible to take leave to perform the Haj. 'Most of them register early (to perform the Haj) and receive an offer three or four years after joining the civil service. This situation would disadvantage those who receive offers, as we know Haj offers take a very long time to come — sometimes requiring a wait of 30 or 40 years,' he said. He told reporters this after attending the 20th edition of the Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XX) programme organised by the PSD in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) here today. Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced several new initiatives to strengthen the civil service, including the removal of the confirmation-in-service requirement for Haj leave. Anwar also announced improvements to the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) scheme, the provision of Academic Recognition Awards (HPA) and funding to strengthen INTAN. On the Public Service Talent Development Policy launched by Anwar, Wan Ahmad Dahlan said it reflected the government's commitment to developing competent and competitive civil servants through the implementation of comprehensive and structured talent development initiatives. 'From the time one joins the civil service until retirement, we certainly need competent human capital to carry out duties. This is where talent development is taken into account by the PSD to ensure that civil servants are competent in facing the new world, which now includes the digital era, the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and so on.

PM Anwar Launches Public Service Talent Development Policy
GENERAL PUTRAJAYA, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today launched the Public Service Talent Development Policy during the 20th edition of the Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XX) gathering held here. The launch of the policy shows the government's ongoing commitment to developing a highly skilled, innovative, and integrity-driven public service, prepared to meet future challenges and support the Malaysia MADANI agenda. In a statement, the Public Service Department (JPA) said talent development is a key factor in enhancing the efficiency, creativity, and professionalism of public servants. 'The policy focuses on merit-based performance evaluation, continuous skill enhancement, fostering a high-performance and integrity-driven work culture, providing clear career pathways for leadership development, and ensuring the public sector remains credible,' the statement read. The policy is designed to ensure the public sector remains relevant, responsive, and capable of advancing the nation's reform agenda. JPA further added that the policy outlines a systematic and integrated approach, including talent mapping at all service levels, large-scale leadership development programmes, strengthening strategic partnerships with higher education institutions, industries, and international organisations, and leveraging technology and data to monitor and drive talent development. MAPPA XX, with the theme "MADANI Civil Service: Pillar of Excellence," brought together over 30,000 public servants both in person and virtually. In addition to the policy launch, the event featured the MAPPA Cakna Inspirasi Forum, 43 service exhibition booths, and a prayer space for 1,000 worshippers, symbolising the integration of spiritual values and professionalism within the public sector. Also present were Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, along with a lineup of Cabinet Ministers, including Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
