The conclusion to the TikTok debacle is at hand, with President Donald Trump having recently claimed that he has some 'very wealthy people' ready to buy TikTok . With that said, the solution seems to be a separate new app for American users, before the platform's sale of its U.S. operations to a non-Chinese entity.According to a report ), the States will get a different TikTok app on September 5. The current app will continue to work until March of next year, but new users will have to download the second app to access TikTok in the United States. Once the current app is taken offline, the U.S. will have a completely separate portal to TikTok compared to the rest of the world.TikTok has often been labeled a threat to national security, as well as a platform for Chinese propaganda. As such, it was ruled that the app would have to sell its American operations to a non-Chinese entity or face a ban from the country. President Trump has extended this deadline three times, and now seems convinced that a deal is nigh.A separate app will get around a lot of the concerns that the U.S. administration has, though it's a pretty ironic end to the whole ordeal. This time, the U.S. will have a separate app for a global platform, something that people have often criticized China for, which pushes local alternatives to popular international apps.If I had to guess, the new app will barely be any different. Though, there might be a surge in content that aligns with the politics of the current administration. For the average user, I doubt anything will change beyond having to download a new app.Of course, this is all considering that this group of 'very wealthy people' actually does purchase the platform's American operations. Such claims have been made before, but have gone nowhere. If TikTok really is making a separate app, however, then it seems like this might finally be the real deal.Which means that, much to the dismay of Instagram, TikTok will continue to operate Stateside.

Apple releases iOS 26 Beta 3 which fixes a major iPhone issue and adds new features
Those of you riding on the iOS 26 beta track should know that iOS 26 Beta 3 has been disseminated by Apple. If you're subscribed to the Apple Beta Software Program you can install this update by going to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the directions. This is actually the third developer beta release of iOS 26 , but you don't have to be a developer to install it. The public beta for iOS 26 will begin in the middle of the current month. The update takes care of a major bug that prevented ringtones from working when someone called affected iPhone units. This happened to my iPhone 15 Pro Max and with the update, thankfully this bug has been exterminated. Apple releases iOS 26 Beta 3. | Image credit-PhoneArena One new feature found in the beta uses Visual Intelligence to recognize screenshots. When you look at a screenshot, two buttons at the bottom of the page, "Ask" and "Image Search," show up in the bottom left and right corners respectively. "Ask" let's you ask a question about the screenshot on your screen. Image search uses any photo found on the screenshot to search for further information that might be relevant to the screenshot. Visual Intelligence now recognizes screenshots after installing the iOS 26 Beta 3. | Image credit-PhoneArena Apple has added more color options for the default iOS wallpaper. Usually offered in multiple color options, previous iOS 26 beta releases offered the wallpaper in blue only. With the update, the default wallpaper is now available in Shadow, Dusk, Sky, and Halo. New colors for the iOS 26 default wallpaper. | Image credit-PhoneArena Improvements have also been made to the battery life of iPhone units running the iOS 26 beta. Certain models also have stopped overheating and lagging once the new beta version was installed. The stable version of iOS 26 should be ready in September, around the time that Apple releases the new iPhone 17 line. Until then, you can expect to see each new beta release introduce some new features for the iPhone along with some patches for serious bugs. We tell you all of the time that losing important features is the risk one takes when installing beta software, especially when it is a major OS release like iOS 26 . Losing the ringtone for incoming calls is pretty serious, which is why we usually warn you not to use your daily driver when installing beta software. After approximately one week, those affected by this bug will now hear their ringtone when receiving a call. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! TikTok is apparently developing a new app for the US market
TikTok is reportedly working on developing a separate app just for the US market, in order to comply with the country's legislation requiring it to either sell its business in the US or face a ban. The new app is allegedly going to be released on September 5, and US TikTok users will have to switch to it in order to continue using the service. The 'old' app, the one currently in use, will be removed from US app stores when the new one launches and will then stop working entirely around next March. Obviously, if this pans out there will be plenty of notices in the existing app telling people to switch before that deadline. It's very much unclear how this is connected to the US government's repeated threats to ban TikTok unless it's sold. The report says there's a connection, but doesn't go into any more details. In the meantime, US President Trump has announced that a "group of very wealthy people" is going to buy TikTok's US operations from ByteDance, the Chinese company which owns the platform. We still don't know who these people are, but Trump promised that will change later this month. The deal will most likely require some sort of approval from the Chinese government, since ByteDance is based over there. Whether that will be forthcoming is anyone's guess. Source

Black Friday in July sale makes the cheapest 2025 Lenovo tablet even cheaper
Priced at $129.99 and released just a couple of weeks ago, the Lenovo Tab One is... not exactly the most attractive Android tablet at first glance. But if you ignore its somewhat generic design and a few underwhelming specs like 64GB internal storage space and 2MP front-facing camera, you're likely to deem the new 8.7-incher as a very smart summer purchase, especially at $99.99. That's right, you can already save a cool 30 bucks and spend just as little money on the Lenovo Tab One as you normally would for something like Amazon's modest Fire HD 8 with 32GB storage and only 3GB RAM. Of course, that thing is on sale at a hefty Prime Day 2025 discount as well at the time of this writing, but Lenovo's Black Friday in July deals are still incredibly hard to beat. $30 off (23%) Wi-Fi Only, 64GB Storage, 4GB RAM, MediaTek Helio G85 Processor, 8.7-Inch IPS Touchscreen with 1340 x 800 Pixel Resolution, Android 14, Guaranteed Android 15 Update, 8MP Rear-Facing Camera, 2MP Front-Facing Camera, Dual Speakers with Dolby Atmos Technology, 5,100mAh Battery, 15W Charging Support, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Luna Grey Color Buy at Lenovo Your $99.99 will buy you a respectably powerful octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor here, mind you, as well as an excellent Dolby Atmos-enhanced dual speaker system and a not-too-bad IPS screen with 1340 x 800 pixels resolution. In short, you're looking at a perfectly acceptable little entertainment option for your summer travels, daily work commute, and school recess. The battery life is also pretty good (for $99.99), at up to 12.5 hours of uninterrupted YouTube streaming (that's a lot of MrBeast content!), and even the 15W charging support is... not terrible. What's undeniably and inexcusably bad is that the Lenovo Tab One runs Android 14 out the box in 2025 with only one major OS update guaranteed to take place (sooner or later), but hey, at least the tablet comes with Google Play support unlike Amazon's Fire devices. All in all, this is by no means a perfect gadget (even by $99.99 standards), but I don't think you can do better at that price today and I believe that will be true tomorrow, this entire week, and quite possibly, during the actual Black Friday 2025 festivities of November as well.
