A Step In the Right Direction: Egyptians to Face Fine for Returning a Sponsored Child to a Foster Home

News of a new policy introduced by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, which imposes a 20,000 EGP fine on any family that decides to return a sponsored child to a state-run foster home, is going viral. This announcement comes following the release of one of Ramadan's most talked-about shows, Welad El Shams, prompting many to draw a direct link between the drama's storyline and the timing of this policy. The goal is clearly to ensure that the decision to sponsor a child under the kafala system is not taken lightly but rather treated with deep seriousness and long-term commitment from the foster families. However, public opinion has been divided, with some questioning the impact of enforcing such policy. Could the fear of a fine force foster families to keep children they're not emotionally invested in, leaving those children to suffer in environments lacking love and genuine care? So, what do you think about this new policy? Will it truly make a difference, or does it need to be complemented with stronger first-stage assessments, ensuring that only families who are psychologically and emotionally prepared for fostering are allowed to take that step?

Djokovic Becomes 2nd Player to Have 100 Wins at Roland Garros

Rana Atef Novak Djokovic became the second man ever to win 100 career matches at Roland Garros. Djokovic's 100th win is a straight-set victory over Cam Norrie in the fourth round of the clay-court Grand Slam. Since its beginning in 1925, the only other player to record 100 wins was Rafael Nadal, who gained 112 of them before retiring from professional tennis last year. Djokovic is also the third man ever to win 100 career matches at any of the four Grand Slams, alongside Nadal at Roland Garros and Roger Federer at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. No male has won 100 career matches at the US Open yet. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is the only tennis player ever, male or female, to have 80 or more wins at all four of the Grand Slams. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks
