It remains unclear whether the hi-tech video equipment has just been mislaid and will come to light once all staff have returned from holiday.
But the incident is suspicious enough for the club to have involved the police.
Top football clubs like the world champion Blues make extensive use of video footage from training and matches to help players' physical, technical, tactical and mental performance.
Chelsea declined to comment about the timing and circumstances of the discovery that the equipment was not where it should be.

But if a crime has been committed, it won't be the first in the leafy Surrey suburbs to affect the club.
A number of Chelsea players have been the victims of break-ins at their mansions near the club's training base.
Raheem Sterling's home was targeted in December 2022 while he was with England at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with a group of burglars stealing £300,000 of designer watches.

Alan Shearer's Premier League predictions for all 20 places this season including champions

Alan Shearer has laid out his predictions for the final 2025-26 Premier League table, as Liverpool aim to retain their crown and Manchester United hope for serious improvements Alan Shearer has cast his eye over the upcoming Premier League and believes the status quo could remain at the top and the bottom. Last season we didn't get much of a title race given how dominant and consistent the fast-starting Liverpool were. ‌ They have spent huge sums, which includes the British-record signing Florian Wirtz, in an effort to go back-to-back. Alexander Isak could yet move to Anfield and Shearer cannot look past the Reds as champions. ‌ Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland are back in the top flight. They'll be wanting to snap the concerning recent trend that has seen promoted teams head straight back to the Championship. ‌ However, Shearer has tipped all three to enjoy just one year in the Premier League before they go back down. That would mark the third year in succession that the three promoted teams cannot survive in what is a concerning trend, further highlighting the gulf between the top flight and the second tier. Arsenal have been tipped to finish second for the fourth year running - which will not please Mikel Arteta. He has spent big, adding Viktor Gyokeres as his No.9, but may still miss out on the prize that he is desperate to land with pressure mounting. Manchester City experienced a lull last term and begin a year without Kevin De Bruyne for the first time in a decade. Despite adding reinforcements Shearer hasn't backed Pep Guardiola and Co. to regain their crown, instead picking them in third. Their cross-city rivals, Manchester United, reached new lows last term and have signed some notable names in attack, as Ruben Amorim aims to seriously improve their fortunes. The pundit is predicting a better year but still not one where they return to the Champions League. Instead, he feels Chelsea and Newcastle - two clubs with very different experiences this summer - will both finished above the Red Devils. Newcastle's year may hinge on whether Isak stays or if they get in a top class replacement. ‌ Chelsea meanwhile have not struggled to get firepower through the door. Last year's surprise package, Nottingham Forest, will have to combine their domestic efforts with Europa League football. That will be a new challenge but Shearer still believes they will still be a top half side. Tottenham have embarked on a new era, sacking Ange Postecoglou despite his European success. Thomas Frank has a tough job on his hands but Shearer has backed them to finish in eighth, narrowly behind Aston Villa. The Midlands club have benefited from having Unai Emery at the helm but with so much competition at the top they've been tipped to fall again. ‌ Brentford now have Keith Andrews at the helm and have been backed to narrowly avoid the drop, finishing just above the bottom three in 17th. West Ham too have been tipped to have a difficult year despite Graham Potter getting a first full season in charge in London. For the likes of Everton and Crystal Palace it is another safe year of mid-table football. The Eagles will have European football, albeit not in the competition they wanted. ‌ Shearer's predicted Premier League table 1. Liverpool 2. Arsenal ‌ 3. Man City 4. Chelsea 5. Newcastle ‌ 6. Man United 7. Aston Villa 8. Tottenham ‌ 9. Nottingham Forest 10. Brighton 11. Bournemouth ‌ 12. Crystal Palace 13. Everton 14. Wolves ‌ 15. Fulham 16. West Ham 17. Brentford ‌ 18. Leeds 19. Liverpool to bank £46m as Darwin Nunez agrees huge Saudi contract

Liverpool are due to finally offload Darwin Nunez as Saudi side Al-Hilal come forward with an offer as the Uruguayan prepares to undergo a medical ahead of his Anfield exit Darwin Nunez is on the brink of completing a move to Saudi side Al-Hilal from Liverpool. The Uruguay striker, 26, is set to jet out to Germany where the Saudi Pro League outfit are currently training and undergo a medical once the terms are all finalised. ‌ Simeone Inzaghi's Al-Hilal have beaten AC Milan to his signature as they close in on a deal worth an initial £46million but rising well beyond £50m. ‌ Nunez is set to earn around £400,000-per-week at the PIF-backed club. The departure of Nunez is likely to see Liverpool press ahead with their plans to sign another forward with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak their top target. ‌ They've agreed to spend up to £79m on Hugo Ekitike but he can play in different positions across the front three while Nunez is following Luis Diaz out the door. The Reds also tragically lost Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident last month. Al-Nassr tried to sign Nunez at the end of the January window but Liverpool would not sell during the season as they chased glory in the Premier League and Champions League. Liverpool agreed a deal worth £85m on Nunez in the summer of 2022. It was an initial £65m and the player has not triggered all of the add-ons from the deal with Benfica. Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign Nunez in 2022 after he impressed against the club for the Portuguese side in the Champions League and they beat Manchester United to his signature. But he has failed to be a clinical finisher in the Premier League and Arne Slot could not unlock his potential with just seven goals last season. Harvey Elliott, who is being chased by RB Leipzig, and Federico Chiesa are also expected to leave along with Nunez this summer. The Reds have already sold Jarell Quansah, Caiomhin Kelleher, Tyler Morton, Diaz and Nat Phillips while they got £8m to allow Trent Alexander-Arnold join Real Madrid a month before his contract expired to raise over £150m. Man Utd transfer news: Benjamin Sesko makes choice as contact made for 'unrealistic' deal

Manchester United look to have secured the signing of Benjamin Sesko, fending off Newcastle's interest, with the RB Leipzig striker closing on a move to Old Trafford Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Benjamin Sesko despite Newcastle also wanting to land the RB Leipzig frontman. Both teams are in the market for a striker, but the Red Devils look to have won the race. ‌ The Slovenian is poised to sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford and compliment the likes of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo with his possible signing taking the Manchester outfit's spending to around the £200million mark. ‌ Ruben Amorim knew he needed to get serious quality through the door if he was to improve on last year's horror showing, which ended with United finishing 15th. The club still need to try and get a number of players off their books or risk carrying them for several months. ‌ Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony are all looking for ways out of Manchester and their exits could help fund some of the club's future business. Here's the latest news involving the Premier League outfit. Sesko training solo after picking Red Devils Leipzig have confirmed Sesko is training away from his team-mates as speculation over his move to Manchester ramps up. The striker reportedly told his team-mates earlier this summer that he would be on the move to pastures new. The German club confirmed on Wednesday morning that the 22-year-old was again working individually. In a brief statement they said: "Wednesday squad update: Andrija Maksimovic is back in Leipzig, but is training individually today. Benjamin Sesko and Lukas Klostermann are also working individually." Sesko is also very much on Newcastle's radar and the Magpies were the club to make the first bid. However the striker has expressed a desire to head to Old Trafford, shunning Champions League football in the process, as Amorim closes on the No 9 he's been after. Baleba contact made Those in Manchester have made contact with Brighton as they look to land explore a deal for midfielder Carlos Baleba. The Cameroon star enjoyed a stellar year last season and the Seagulls have no plans to cash in. ‌ The Red Devils are aware the move may be unrealistic, especially if their transfer funds to end up being spent on Sesko, but are looking to gauge whether anything can be done in the coming weeks as Ruben Amorim seeks to further bolster his squad, reports the Athletic. United's current focus is on landing the Slovenian from RB Leipzig after they jumped ahead of Newcastle in the transfer race. There is an acceptance that any move, which could cost more than £70million, will make any swoop for the Brighton star very difficult. ‌ Barca confident on Rashford registration Barcelona president Joan Laporta is confident the club will be able to register Marcus Rashford and their other signings before the new season starts. The forward has joined Barcelona on a season-long loan. The deal includes a £26m option to buy and involves Barcelona paying his wages in full. There were concerns that Barcelona may not be able to register Rashford due to their financial struggles - but they have been addressed. "It's progressing well," Laporta told ESPN. "We're doing our job and we're confident that we'll be able to register everyone." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
