Former Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy taking new role with University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Athletics
According to a release from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Murphy has accepted a role the the Phoenix's inaugural Executive in Residence.
We are honored to have Mark Murphy join UW-Green Bay as an Executive in Residence. His passion for this region, belief in the importance of education, his experience as a D1 Athletic Director, and his incredible qualities as a leader will continue to inspire us.

Being named UWGB's inaugural Executive in Residence, Murphy will be focusing primarily on evaluating the profile and strengths of the Phoenix Athletics' D1 programs and partnerships.

The new role will have Murphy assist in strategic projects that include capital improvements, sports sponsorships, and long-term sustainable excellence modeling for Phoenix athletics. He will also assist in mentoring coaches and staff and special initiatives for the Chancellor, like the Phoenix Innovation Park.
I'm honored to be named UWGB's Executive in Residence. I have tremendous respect for both Chancellor Alexander and Josh [Moon], and look forward to helping them keep UWGB's athletics program competitive in the rapidly changing Division I landscape. I'm also excited to go back to my roots in college athletics at a school that means so much to the local community.
Mark Murphy
Murphy, who retired in July on his 70th birthday, had been the Packers' President and CEO since 2007 and played a vital role in several major projects, including the Titletown District and bringing the .
Prior to his time with the Packers, he also spent over a decade in college athletics, serving as the Director of Athletics at Colgate University from 1992 to 2003 and at Northwestern University from 2003 to 2007.
School officials say Murphy will have an office on the UWGB campus inside the Kress Events Center Athletics offices, effective immediately.
