CM Yogi leads Janmashtami rituals at Gorakhnath
: The sacred festival of
Krishna Janmashtami
was celebrated with traditional fervour and devotion at the Gorakhnath Temple in the presence of Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhishwar
Yogi Adityanath
. Arriving from Lucknow late on Saturday night, the CM led the midnight rituals marking the divine appearance of Lord Krishna.
At the temple, the CM first paid homage at Guru Gorakhnath's shrine and bowed before the samadhi of his spiritual guru, Mahant Avaidyanath.
The festivities began with soulful bhajans at the Mahant Digvijayanath Smriti auditorium, where children dressed as Radha and Krishna added a colourful and festive charm to the atmosphere. The CM interacted warmly with them, showering affection, sharing light-hearted moments, and presenting toys and chocolates.
As the clock struck midnight, the temple premises echoed with the sounds of conch shells, bells, and devotional chants. CM Yogi carried the idol of infant Krishna from the sanctum sanctorum and placed him in a floral cradle. He then performed the ceremonial jhulan (swing ritual), followed by the traditional aarti and the joyous singing of 'Nand Ghar Anand Bhayo' and other hymns.
The event witnessed the participation of prominent personalities, including Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, MP Vijay Dubey, BJP MLC Dharmendra Singh, and saints from Ayodhya and Varanasi.
Thousands of devotees thronged the temple, offering prayers and witnessing the rituals.
Competitions in Krishna–Radha attire drew enthusiastic participation, with prizes awarded to children across different categories. A devotional evening of bhajans, led by noted folk singer Rakesh Srivastava and his troupe, captivated the gathering with traditional renditions of sohar and other folk hymns, adding to the spiritual fervour of the occasion.
During the celebration at the temple, MP Ravi Kishan sang bhajans and broke into an impromptu dance during the evening programme.

Housefull 5 actor Akashdeep Sabir: Sharing screen space with Big B was unforgettable
Akashdeep Sabir with Amitabh Bachchan Akashdeep Sabir, last seen in Housefull 5, recently shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan for a Kaun Banega Crorepati advertisement. Talking about the experience, he says, 'Magic. Just the sheer thought of doing something involving the legend was a super feeling. My father was the world rights holder and co-producer of Saat Hindustani, which was Mr Bachchan's first film around 1969. More than half a century later, to be working with him as an actor was unforgettable.' Working with a legend like Amitabh Bachchan can make even seasoned actors nervous, but Akashdeep says he wasn't. 'Neither was the Big B intimidating, nor do I get intimidated by anyone's presence,' he shares with a smile, adding, 'The shots were done separately for the ad, but when I told him about our family's connection, he stood up. What a gracious man.' This wasn't their first meeting; years ago, Akashdeep had shot an ad with him, though back then he never mentioned the Saat Hindustani story. Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5 Surpasses Salman Khan's Sikandar at the Box Office Akashdeep also recently shot an ad with Pankaj Tripathi . He shares, 'He is a rockstar. His innocence and believability make him such an accepted star. During the shoot, he told me his inspiration to become an actor, Manoj Bajpayee, had worked in a film called Ghaath directed by some Akashdeep. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? Over the years, he has worked with several stars including Tabu, Akshay Kumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Rajkummar Rao. Reflecting on those experiences, he says, 'The biggest lesson I've learnt is that acting is very hard work. Watching these great actors nail their characters film after film amazes me. Now that I'm acting more, I realise just how much effort goes into making it look effortless.' When asked if he adapts his performance depending on his co-actors, he is clear. 'No. I try to be the character and let the performance come out naturally. I'm waiting for challenging roles that will test my ability even more.'
