Rojo, who joined Boca in 2021 after a rollercoaster seven-year spell at Old Trafford, was kicked out of the dressing room last month following a row with coaching staff.
Reports in Argentina claim the ex-Red Devil and two other players were told they were no longer welcome at the club's Xeneiza training centre — not even in the locker room.
His last appearance came in a Copa Argentina penalty shootout win over Lanus — but he hasn't featured since.
The club confirmed his exit on Friday, releasing a short statement on X.

"We thank Marcos for his professionalism and commitment to the club and wish him much success in his future challenges.'

Christian Leroy Duncan eyeing middleweight top-15 with UFC Vegas 109 win over ‘great test' Eryk Anders

Anders is by far the biggest name Duncan will have locked horns with during his stint in mixed martial arts' premier promotion. And he firmly believes a win over the American will be his ride to bigger and better things. In an exclusive interview with SunSport, he said of potentially fighting a top-15 opponent next: "Naturally, it comes to mind. Logically, it makes sense." He said: "As soon as they gave me the name, I had that rush [and excitement] of [finally being able to fight somebody of his calibre at this point. "I definitely put a serious push on my training and my mindset throughout this camp, leaving no stone unturned. It was, however, a frustrating night at the office as the Russian was on his bike for the majority of the fight. Israel Adesanya provides major update on UFC return and opens door to two mega fights amid fans' calls for retirement "I was definitely expecting more of a meet in the middle, kind of exchanging fight,' Duncan said of his most recent outing. "But like you said, he backed off quite a bit. "So it's hard to get anything going. It was hard to kind of build momentum in that fight. "But we got the win and it builds us now to this opponent, Erik Anders. "He is well known in the UFC, a veteran and a very experienced, tough, and durable guy. "He just fought Chris Weidman, the previous middleweight champion, so he's no pushover. "So it's a great test of my skill at this level. And I feel if we do well here, it could definitely push us forward well." Despite being excited by what a win over Anders will potentially do for his career, Duncan is refusing to put the cart before the horse. "'I'm focusing on what's happening now," he said. "So I acknowledge that it's [fighting a ranked opponent next] a possibility and it would happen. "But it's not as important [right now]. When it comes, that's when I can put my full focus on something like that. But for now, my focus is on Anders." Duncan's cautionary approach and insistence on focusing on the here and now is a testament to the mindset that head coach and Brit MMA pioneer Mark Weir has helped instil in him over the years. It's a great test of my skill at this level." Christian Leroy Duncan on his showdown with Eryk Anders 8 UK MMA pioneer Mark Weir has been giving Christian Leroy Duncan his pearls of wisdom inside and outside of the cage for several years Credit: ALAMY He said: "When I first started, it was probably within three months of me first ever starting in MMA, and we would discuss a kind of plan of where I wanna get to. "He would ask me where I wanna get to and he'd lay out like a little plan which would be like, 'You need to do this in your amateurs. "'And then when you get to the pros at this level.' And it's crazy how things are starting to play out that we've visualised and spoken about from early on. "So he's definitely been a part of that, developing that mindset." Claiming the scalp of Anders will be no easy feat, despite the former American football player being on the back nine of his career. 8 Christian Leroy Duncan expects Eryk Anders to give him his sternest test yet Credit: GETTY And Duncan is treating the 38-year-old like he's still at the peak of his powers. "He's very much a pressure fighter who likes to go forward," Duncan said of Anders. "[He] likes to be on the front foot and likes to dominate. "So it's gonna be more of me implementing my style onto him and seeing how he reacts and copes with that. "I believe my style will overwhelm him in the right areas at the right time. "And I think he'll be surprised with my speed and my movement once we're in there."

Arne Slot admits Liverpool are title favourites - but takes aim over £300m spending
Liverpool kick off the new season by facing FA Cup winners Crystal Palace in the Community Shield at Wembley with the pressure on the Premier League champions to defend their title Arne Slot accepts Liverpool are favourites for the Premier League title - but insists it shouldn't be about the money they've spent. The Reds have splashed the cash this summer with their spending nearly reaching £300m and more to come. But the defending champions have raised almost £150m so far in player sales with further departures in the coming days and weeks before the window slams shut. The Liverpool boss said: 'If you won it last season it's quite normal that you are part of the favourites again for next season. For me it would not be normal if it's about spending, because the net spend of us compared to the other teams is not in our favour, if you look at the last two seasons. But it's completely normal that we are one of the favourites, because we won it last season. And we brought in good players, like all the other ones did, by the way.' Liverpool only spent £10m last summer on Federico Chiesa while they earned more in outgoings. They're set to smash the British transfer record with a £116m deal for Florian Wirtz while Alexander Isak would cost £120m at least to get from Newcastle this summer. Arsenal have spent close to £200m this summer and brought in just £9m while Manchester United's move for Benjamin Sesko will take their spending to the £200m mark with no money yet from outgoings. Manchester City have spent £151m in the summer but also splashed out in January and have made £42m this window. While Chelsea have also spent over £200m but raised over £100m as well. Slot added: 'This is the Premier League, this is what makes this league so nice. I think there's only been one exception [who didn't spend big] in the last two, three, four, five, six years, and that's been Liverpool last season. ' Sunderland is spending money as if they... They have a lot of money, of course, because they're promoted. So that is what happens in the Premier League, that's why it is such a nice league. 'So if we are only favourites because we've spent a bit, I would see that as weird, because we've lost a lot as well. But that we are favourites because we won it last season and we played so well, that's clear. And the ambitions haven't changed, because the ambition of this club is always to compete for every trophy. 'So that hasn't changed compared to last season. Not because we lost players and not because we brought players in. The ambitions are always the same at this club.' Slot remained tight-lipped on the pursuit of Isak and the potential of an attacker coming in but they are ready to spend big if the Newcastle striker is available while a defender is also on the cards. Community Shield 2025: When is it and how to watch Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
English top-flight football returns this weekend with the Community Shield – the annual domestic curtain-raiser that pits last season's Premier League champions Liverpool against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace at Wembley. Liverpool have spent big this summer, transforming their team by bringing in players like club-record transfer Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike. While they are strongly linked with Newcastle's Aleksander Isak. Manager Arne Slot will want to start the season well as he looks to mount a defence of their league title. Crystal Palace's first silverware in their history was slightly tarnished by Uefa's decision to kick them out of the Europa League, which they have appealed. With their European future uncertain, they have struggled to make signings, with only goalkeeper Walter Benitez and defender Borna Sosa being brought in. While captain Marc Guehi and star Eberechi Eze remain at the club but their futures are in doubt. In addition to being the first competitive game of the season, it will also be the first for Liverpool since the deaths of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva on July 3. The FA has held talks with Liverpool about plans for a tribute to them at this weekend's match. When is the Community Shield? The match will be played on Sunday, August 10. What time does it start? The Community Shield will kick off at 3pm. Where to watch on TV and streaming The match will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1, with coverage starting at 2pm. Latest Liverpool news Club-record signing Florian Wirtz is likely to make his competitive debut for Liverpool on Sunday. Alexis Mac Allister is unlikely to start, with Arne Slot saying: 'He was out for two months, I think, or longer because we didn't play him in the last four games of the season. So that's not a situation where you would start a player [and] play him for 90 minutes.' Joe Gomez, who injured his Achilles during Liverpool's Asia tour, and Connor Bradley, who is carrying a knock, are both doubts for the match. Liverpool have had a mixed pre-season with victories against Athletic Club and Yokohama FM in the 'J League World Challenge' contrasting with a 4-2 defeat to AC Milan, where they looked vulnerable to fast counter-attacks. Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Szoboszlai; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike Liverpool's summer signings: Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giogi Mamardashvili, Florian Wirtz, Armin Pecsi, Freddie Woodman, Will Wright. Liverpool departures: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid), Luis Diaz (Bayern Munich), Caoimhin Kelleher (Brentford), Tyler Morton (Lyon), Nathaniel Phillips, (West Bromwich), Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen) Latest Crystal Palace news Manager Oliver Glasner has said that he is hopeful that the club's appeal over Uefa's decision to demote them to the Conference League will be overturned. The decision has dominated the South London club's summer and they submitted their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against Uefa in July. Injury doubts for Palace include Eddie Nketiah, who Glasner told journalists has 'missed more or less the whole pre-season'. Cheick Doucoure, will be out for a couple of months, while Matheus Franca and Caleb Kporha are also expected to miss out. Crystal Palace have had a fairly strong pre-season with wins against Millwall (1-0), Crawley Town (3-0) and Bundesliga team Augsburg (3-1). They lost a second game against the German outfit 1-0, having fielded their second-string side. Palace are looking for more incomings this summer after having a very quiet transfer market. At the pre-match press conference, manager Glasner mentioned Diogo Jota when talking about Palace's opponents on Sunday. The German called the brother's death the 'toughest thing' he said: 'Then we see how unimportant results, transfers and everything else is. And the Community Shield is the first competitive game after, which will be under these circumstances.' Predicted Crystal Palace XI: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Eze Palace's summer signings: Borna Sosa, Walter Benitez. Palace's departures: Joel Ward, Joe Whitworth, Luke Plange, Jeffrey Schlupp, David Ozoh, Rob Holding, Malcolm Ebiowei Past winners and results The Community Shield is 117 years old and while Crystal Palace are making their first appearance, Liverpool are third in the all-time list of winners with 16 Shields, trailing overall record holders Manchester United (21) and Arsenal (17). Manchester City won the 2024 Community Shield, beating the 2024 FA Cup winners Manchester United (who they had lost to in the FA Cup Final). City won 7-6 on penalties after the game finished 1-1 after extra time. 2023: Arsenal 1 Manchester City 1 (Arsenal won 4-1 on penalties) 2022: Liverpool 3 Manchester City 1 2021: Leicester City 1 Manchester City 0 2020: Arsenal 1 Liverpool 1 (Arsenal won 5-4 on penalties) 2019: Manchester City 1 Liverpool 1 (Manchester City won 5-4 on penalties) Latest odds
