Yes Chef Food Fest returns to Brooklyn this weekend, free caviar bumps included
'We had people traveling from all over the world and country to not only try some of NYC's best food in one place, but to take part in culinary moments they might never had access to,' said Goldburg referencing last year's event, including the flashy, 300-lb bluefin tuna cutting ceremony. 'When you combine incredible food and like-minded people together, you can build something really special.' And so Goldburg and crew decided to do it again.
This weekend, Yes Chef Food Fest returns to Brooklyn and, building on last year, the festival on Saturday, June 7th and Sunday, June 8th is coming back bigger than ever. Moving to the former Skyline Drive-in space in Greenpoint—all 40,000 square feet of it—the two-day long event will gather all those who love to eat over culinary demos, curated bar experiences and some of the best restaurants in town.
The weekend-long festival will include plenty of delectable samples including squares of the trendy Dubai chocolate from Nuts Factory, freshly shucked oysters from Oyster Party and luxury strawberries from Oishii (yes, those strawberries that run $10 for a six pack of berries). But beyond roaming (and free!) bumps of caviar, you can watch as well as partake in culinary demonstrations, including tastings from a 500-lb cheese wheel and a live breakdown of a bluefin tuna led by Sushi by Bou.
Thirty-plus restaurants will be on-site, each handpicked by Goldburg and serving signature dishes available for purchase. New to the festival is a New York classic, Katz's Delicatessen, which will be slicing up its iconic pastrami. Fellow fest newcomers include the hand-rolled bagel spot Apollo Bagels and SoHo's latest Wagyu smash burger joint, NADC Burger. Returning talent includes Dominican-style BBQ from Bark Barbecue in Time Out Market New York, scratch-made Taiwanese dumplings from Mimi Cheng's and slices from one of New York's most popular pizza shops, Prince Street Pizza.
On the cusp of the festival, Goldburg hopes that year two will leave guests entertained as well as full. 'This event offers guests the chance to explore new flavors and try dishes they may not have had before,' he said. 'By the end, people leave impressed, satisfied and well-fed.

What it is: Pizza Sondrio is Kamala's hidden gem for real wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza. This cosy pizzeria blends beachy bohemian vibes with rustic cabin charm and the fast food neighbours make it an easy choice when cravings hit. Why do we love it: Pizza Sondrio stands out in Kamala's limited dining scene with excellent wood-fired pizzas. After 48 hours of fermentation, their crust emerges fluffy with excellent char and crispness. Capricciosa (B370) showcases their dough mastery beautifully. Signature vegetarian pizza (B340) with feta, tomatoes and balsamic delivers punchy flavours. Creamy burrata is particularly lovely, though the Italian balsamic drizzled on top makes it best enjoyed in moderation.
