Rave party at farmhouse near Bengaluru busted; 31 detained, drugs seized
In a pre-dawn operation Sunday, the police raided a farmhouse on the outskirts of Bengaluru and busted an alleged rave party. The police arrested 31 people, including seven women, and seized three grams of cocaine, five grams of hydro-ganja, 60 grams of Hashish, and a small quantity of ganja.
According to the police, the rave party was underway in a farmhouse in Kannamangala village in Devanahalli taluk of Bengaluru rural district. The raid was conducted around 5 am by the Devanahalli police after locals tipped them off about suspicious activities at the private farmhouse. According to police, the party began late Saturday night, and several attendees were found in possession of or using drugs. Many of the attendees were reportedly working professionals from Bengaluru's IT sector.
The police confirmed that a drug peddler was among those present. All 31 were subjected to medical tests, and forensic reports are awaited to verify drug consumption.
'Four of the accused found with narcotics were produced in court and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody,' said V J Sajith, East Division DCP.
'The remaining 27 were released on station bail after initial questioning. Cases have been filed against all of them under the NDPS Act, including the farmhouse owner,' DCP Sajith added.
Initial investigations suggest the event was organised as a birthday party but soon turned into a drug-fuelled event. Police sources said more arrests are likely as they probe the drug supply network.
A police officer said the attendees were there to celebrate the 26th birthday of one Mazar Sharif, a resident of Banaswadi in Bengaluru and an employee at a private firm. The farmhouse owner, Syed Asad, had rented it to Sharif after he contacted him online. The attendees were aged between 24 and 30 years, and most of them were from Bengaluru city.
ACP Naveen from the Devanahalli subdivision supervised the operation. The police are continuing to investigate the origins and distribution channels of the seized narcotics.

N Koti Reddy, DCP, Balanagar Zone, said that on May 29, Surendra collected 820 grams of drug Cocaine mixed with Ephedrine from Gunashekar at Tirupati and proceeded to Hyderabad via Guntur. The group assembled at Jaya Nagar, Kukatpally and planned to distribute the contraband. On June 2, while they were moving towards Bhagyanagar, Kukatpally in search of consumers, the patrolling police intercepted them based on suspicious movement and behaviour. One of the accused attempted to flee but was apprehended. Upon questioning and searching, the team recovered 820 grams of Cocaine-Ephedrine, a digital weighing machine, and mobile phones used in the conspiracy. The seizure was made as per NDPS Act procedures. Cyberabad Police requested parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police or pass information if any suspicious activity is noticed.

Foreign national held at Mumbai airport with cocaine worth ₹52 crore
A foreign national was arrested after 5.194 kgs of cocaine worth ₹51.94 crore was recovered from him at the Mumbai international airport, Customs officials said on Tuesday. Based on specific information, the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Mumbai Customs intercepted a passenger, an overseas resident, at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Monday, an official said. During his personal search, four packets containing 5,194 grams (5.194 kgs) of cocaine were found ingeniously concealed in an ortho waist belt and calf guards, he said. After interrogation, the foreign national was placed under arrest by the Customs under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act), the official said, adding further investigation was underway in the matter.

‘Village for sale' poster over drug abuse: SHO transferred for threatening whistleblower
