Phillies Legend Jimmy Rollins Wins a Boat with Sick Ace at ACC

Philadelphia Phillies' legendary shortstop Jimmy Rollins is no stranger to milestone moments. Who could forget his walk-off double against the Dodgers in Game 4 of the 2009 NLCS, or his MVP season in 2007 when he led Philadelphia to the NL East Division crown?
Even so, his first hole-in-one as a golfer is sure to rank high on his list of milestone moments.
It's not just the ace itself—a tremendous achievement, no questions asked—but the conditions under which he accomplished it.
Rollins aced the par-3, 154-yard 12th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course during the final round of the recently concluded American Century Championship. His luck couldn't have been greater, as this shot also earned him a boat awarded by the organizers for the first hole-in-one of the tournament on that hole.
"I got my first hole-in-one and won a boat." ⛳️🚤

The former MLB star told the Tahoe Daily Tribune that the luckiest shot of his golf career was made with his 50-degree wedge:
"I got up there, off the club, it felt pretty good," Rollins said.
"And as it landed, Davante [Adams, his group mate] started yelling, 'Jump in the hole!'"
"I've been close a number of times, so I didn't anticipate it going in. I just figure, of course it's going to cross over the front of the hole, go tap in for a birdie. It goes in. And I look at him, he's sky high, and I don't know what to do."
The boat Rollins won is none other than a MasterCraft, valued at $325,000. Not bad for a weekend of golf.

Jimmy Rollins: "Don't let that be your only highlight"
Jimmy Rollins finished the 54-hole tournament with a total of 2 points, according to the Stableford scoring method used at the American Century Championship. This placed him 49th among the 90 celebrities who participated in the event.
"You can't let that hole-in-one be the only highlight...," Rollins told the Tahoe Daily Tribune.
"Don't let that be your only highlight where you do that and then you just fall off the rest of the day. I got in motion, locked in. It was in. I don't have to do anything else but worry about the next shot, and I hit the next shot right down the middle."
NHL legend Joe Pavelski won the American Century Championship with a total of 73. Defending champion and NBA star Stephen Curry finished 5th, while golf legend Annika Sorenstam, one of five women in the field, finished 7th.

2025 MLB All-Star Game to take place at Braves' home park after it was taken away over voting law controversy
The MLB All-Star Game will take place Tuesday night at Truist Park in Cumberland, Georgia, with the American League looking to continue its dominance over the National League. The American League has won 10 out of the last 11 games, not including the 2020 season in which the game was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The National League won the game in 2023, but the American League rectified their loss last season in Arlington, Texas. This year, the game heads to the home of the Atlanta Braves. It's the first time the All-Star Game will be played in their stadium since they played at Turner Field in 2000. The Braves were initially supposed to host the 2021 All-Star Game at Truist Park, but it was removed over an uproar about a voting law the state passed. The Election Integrity Act of 2021 placed new restrictions on voting by mail, added voter ID requirements and limited ballot drop boxes. Then-President Joe Biden criticized the law as "Jim Crow on steroids." On Monday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp praised MLB for returning the game to Atlanta and creating economic opportunities for businesses in the city. "We're excited about the game finally being here. It should have been here several years ago. They never should have pulled it to start with, but thankfully the game's coming back," Kemp said in an appearance on "Fox & Friends." "It's good for the Braves organization. It's good for all the vendors and small business people in and around the ballpark and in the city of Atlanta up in Cobb County and really for our whole state." The law is presently still in place as the baseball world descends on the city. As far as the game goes, reigning American League Cy Young pitcher Tarik Skubal, of the Detroit Tigers, is set to start against National League Rookie of the Year, Pittsburgh Pirates star Paul Skenes. New York Yankees' All-Star Max Fried handed Skubal the opportunity to start the game as he felt that Skubal had earned the honor. Read below for the projected starters of the American and National League teams. American League National League The American League will be managed by the Yankees' Aaron Boone. The Dodgers' Dave Roberts will manage the National League. The MLB All-Star Game will be played on FOX at 8 p.m. ET. Full coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET.
