Bandi Sanjay emphasized that the strength of India lies in the courage and discipline of its soldiers, noting the role of the NSG in facing modern challenges, including cyber threats.
The Modi government prioritizes defense reforms and self-reliance, declaring 2025 the 'Year of Defense Reforms.' It aims to modernize armed forces through advancements in technology, including integrating NSG forces with AI and drone capabilities. The commitment to national security and dignity remains unwavering, he added.

Shah argued that foreign languages cannot capture the essence of Indian culture and history. 'To understand our country, our culture, our history, and our religion, no foreign language can suffice. The idea of a complete India cannot be imagined through half-baked foreign languages. I am fully aware of how difficult this battle is, but I am also fully confident that Indian society will win it. Once again, with self-respect, we will run our country in our own languages and lead the world too,' he said. 'Panch Pran' and a vision for 2047 The Union Minister also reiterated the significance of the 'Panch Pran' or five pledges laid out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of India's roadmap towards the centenary of independence. Call for administrative reform Turning to the subject of bureaucracy, Shah emphasised the need for reform in the training of administrative officers, suggesting that current practices still reflect colonial-era thinking. 'A radical change is needed in the training of administrative officers... Rarely are they trained to introduce empathy in our system. Maybe because the British era inspired this training model. I believe that if any ruler or administrator rules without empathy, then they cannot achieve the real objective of governance,' he said. Literature as the soul of society Praising the importance of literature, Shah described it as a vital force that sustained India through historical challenges. 'When our country was consumed in an era of pitch black darkness, even then literature kept the lamps of our religion, freedom, and culture lit. When the government changed, no one opposed it. But whenever someone tried to touch our religion, culture and literature, our society stood against them and defeated them. Literature is the soul of our society,' he said.

A significant MoU was also signed between the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the University of Zagreb to promote Indology studies. Mr. Modi's Croatian stop followed his participation in the G7 Summit in Canada, where he called for global accountability against terrorism, directly criticizing Pakistan for fostering cross-border terror. He also urged G7 nations not to overlook the terror threats emanating from South Asia. Before Canada, PM Modi visited Cyprus, where he held comprehensive talks with President Nikos Christodoulides. In a symbolic gesture, both leaders viewed Turkish-controlled mountains near Nicosia — a pointed signal toward Turkiye, which had recently voiced support for Pakistan during the conflict with India. During his visit to Zagreb, Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a 'special gift' from Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković: a reprint of Vezdin's Sanskrit Grammar. The gesture carries significant cultural significance, symbolising the centuries-old connection between India and Croatia. Vezdin's Sanskrit Grammar is the first printed Sanskrit grammar written in Latin. It was published in 1790 by Croatian scholar and missionary Filip Vezdin during his time in India Prime Minister Plenković also presented Modi with a book on Croatia–India bilateral relations titled Croatia & India: Bilateral Navigator for Diplomats and Business, authored by Croatian diplomat Sinisa Grgic, according to ANI. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation, including trade, investment, and tourism. They signed agreements in areas like agriculture, culture, science, and technology, ANI reported. Plenkovic also recognised India as an important trading partner, saying, 'India is an important Asian trading partner for Croatia.' He also stated that last year, the exchange amounted to 242 million USD, while trade increased by 10% in the first three months of 2025. At the same time, the number of Indian tourists visiting is also growing. With the agreements signed today in different sectors, we want to strengthen cooperation in the ICT, pharmaceutical industry, and maritime transport sectors, said Plenkovic. According to the news agency, earlier in the day, Plenkovic welcomed PM Modi to Zagreb, the Prime Minister of India's first-ever visit to hold delegation-level talks. In a post on X, the Croatian leader said, 'We welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Zagreb! This is the first ever visit by the Prime Minister of India, the most populous country in the world, which comes at an important geopolitical moment. We are starting a new chapter in India-Croatia relations and are creating conditions for strengthening bilateral cooperation in multiple areas and sectors.' PM Modi interacted with members of the Indian diaspora here on Wednesday as he arrived at a hotel in Zagreb, Croatia, marking the final stop of his three-nation tour.
