Apple, Google, Airbnb, and X are reportedly eyeing stablecoin payments

Apple, Google, Airbnb, and Elon Musk's X are allegedly in preliminary talks with companies in the cryptocurrency space to assess transitioning to stablecoins. These companies are considering the use of stablecoins as a cost-saving measure for payment processing and achieving high-level efficiencies in international transactions.
As per a report by Fortune, the renewed interest stems from the shifting regulatory landscape under President Donald Trump and his pro-crypto approach to digital assets.
There have been numerous attempts by tech giants to carve out a niche in the crypto space, only to be hindered by regulatory concerns. Things are moving in a different direction now that Stripe has acquired stablecoin startup Bridge. Uber CEO, has also hinted at that stablecoins could reduce cross-border costs recently.
Google Cloud has already allowed stablecoin payments using PayPal's PYUSD, which was processed through the Google Cloud accounting system. Airbnb is in talks with payments company Worldpay and BNVK, a provider of stablecoin infrastructure, says Fortune.
Meanwhile, X, which has had a previous relationship with Visa, is searching to integrate stablecoins into X Money, its imminent payment product.
Apple, the big name in digital payments via Apple Pay, is also in talks with crypto payment providers, including a meeting with Circle's representative, the issuer of USDC. Still, it is unclear what stablecoins will be implemented, given compliance concerns, ownership changes, and the poor use of newer tokens like PYUSD.
Although the initial conversations are just that, venture firms say the growing involvement of established fintech leaders is legitimizing the stablecoin space, especially with the Trump administration advancing the GENIUS Act.
However, it is important to note that Apple, Google, X and Airbnb has not officially acknowledged any stablecoin adoption and TheStreet has not verified such claims personally.

Analysts Look to Tesla's Robotaxi Launch After Stock Hit From Musk-Trump Spat

Tesla is expected to launch its autonomous ride hailing service later this month, perhaps as soon as this week. The company has yet to confirm or deny a report from Bloomberg that it is targeting a June 12 launch for the robotaxi. The EV maker's stock could use a lift after a week marked by a spat between CEO Elon Musk and President (TSLA) is expected to launch its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, as soon as this week, with the electric vehicle maker's stock in need of a lift after a week marked by political strife between CEO Elon Musk and President Trump. The stock rebounded nearly 4% to close just above $295 Friday, after tumbling 14% on Thursday. They've lost roughly one-quarter of their value since the start of the year. Tesla bulls believe a robotaxi program could drive substantial upside in the company's stock. Bloomberg last month reported that Tesla was targeting a June 12 launch, citing a person familiar with the matter, adding that the date could change. The company has not confirmed that date, and Tesla did not respond to Investopedia's request for comment in time for publication. Musk said in last month's earnings call and a May 20 interview with CNBC that the company was still on track to launch the program by the end of the month. The start of the program, Musk told CNBC, will likely be about 10 Model Y vehicles operating autonomously, with the company later expanding to more vehicles and cities. Tesla owners will eventually be able to add their vehicle to the available fleet of Teslas to rent for a ride, Musk has said, which could help Tesla scale the project before the Cybercab goes into production next year. Oppenheimer analysts recently wrote that the company's ability to get its software to drive fully autonomously with its current suite of cameras could be "key to its technology leadership and stock performance," but added they believe it might take at least one or two more hardware and software updates before Tesla can deliver reliable autonomous performance. More bullish analysts, like Wedbush's Dan Ives, have said they think successful autonomous driving software will be the start of technology that will eventually add $1 trillion in value to the company. Overall, analysts are somewhat divided on Tesla's stock, with 10 of the brokers tracked by Visible Alpha giving the stock a "buy" rating, with four "hold" and four "sell" ratings. Their average price target is about $304, slightly above Friday's closing level, but their price targets range from as low as $120 to as high as $500. Read the original article on Investopedia

This AI video generator is going viral, and it's completely free to use

AI video generators are having a bit of a moment. Whether it's Google's Veo 3, complete with audio integration, or something like Kling 2 or Runway that are creating movie-quality clips with ease, the technology has come a long way. But along with the big-name companies vying for the best AI video generator, there are some smaller underdogs of the AI video world. One that recently caught my eye was Hailouai. I kept seeing videos generated by the model popping up on sites like X, with users showing off their impressive generations. This isn't the first time we've talked about Haliuo, in fact, we were impressed by a major update it revealed late last year. But the AI company is back in people's minds with its most recent updated called the Director model. In this version, like a few other big AI video generators, you can input camera angles and movements, to give your videos a bit more action. This new update gives users on Hailuo a bit more control over what they are producing. It allows for the alteration of camera angles in prompts in two ways. Users can either choose from a pre-selection of options like 'downward tilt' or 'right walking' or they can come up with their own. Like most video generation experiences, creativity can either reward or hinder you. Sometimes, getting too complicated with camera angle suggestions resulted in a complete mess of an experience, or the model would ignore it completely. I found more success when using Hailuo by focusing on the options I had been given. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. You can choose to either make a video from scratch with a text prompt or use an existing image that you want to edit. You can also add an image of someone and ask for them to be dropped into a scene. This option comes with an incredibly long list of warnings about use of that image and follows the same concerns that come with deepfakes on any platform. All of this technology can be found in competitors like Runway, Kling and Higgsfield. One of the major benefits of Haliuo is how good the free version of its software is. The load times are slightly slower, and you are still limited in credits, but that limit is pretty high. You will be able to get 20 to 30 videos generated before you near the end of your credit limit and there are ways to get more without having to sign up for a paid plan. However, on the free plan, your images and videos will have watermarks on them - something to keep in mind if you plan to use these videos commercially. Once you've made an account on Hailuai, you'll land on the homescreen. You should have roughly 1,000 credits at this point. Videos cost around 30 credits and images just 1. On the left hand side there are four ways to interact with the AI generation. For this particular activity, we want the 'create video' section. Here, you can choose to turn images into video, text to video or input your subject reference (an image of a person to edit). Most importantly here, you want to change your model at the bottom to T2V-01-Director to add the camera angles change. Then, by clicking the small camera in the bottom right corner, you'll be able to choose the camera angle style for your video. Once that's all selected, and you've put your prompt in, click the generate button in the bottom right. It will take a few minutes to generate but compared to other free video generators is actually quite fast. This isn't the best AI video generator on the market, but considering how good its free plan is (and then how affordable the paid plans are) its a great choice for those not wanting to fork out large amounts of money to generate a few videos. Hailuo offers all of the same features you'd see in leading models and, quite frankly, in some ways more. You can even ask Deepseek for assistance on your prompt directly from the Hailouai app. With such stiff competition in this market, Hailoai is keeping up surprisingly well with the likes of OpenAI and Gemini, even offering the ability to add sound (at the expense of more credits of course).

Senior Taiwan official visits site of new Alaska LNG project

TAIPEI (Reuters) -A senior Taiwanese official said on Saturday he had this week visited the site of a potentially enormous new liquified natural gas (LNG) project in Alaska that the Trump administration has been pushing hard to allies in Asia as a supply option. Energy developer Glenfarne had said on Tuesday that 50 firms had formally expressed interest in contracts worth more than $115 billion from its Alaska LNG project, a massive infrastructure deal championed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Writing on his Facebook page, Pan Men-an, secretary-general to Taiwan President Lai Ching-te, said he had attended an energy conference in Alaska at the invitation of U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright and visited the state's North Slope. Phase One of the project is expected to deliver natural gas about 1,230 km (765 miles) from the North Slope to the Anchorage region. "Despite the freezing temperatures, we talked enthusiastically about building resilience and responsibility as democratic partners in the face of global climate change and the challenges of authoritarianism," Pan wrote. "In the face of trade challenges and international turbulence, we have no choice but to rise to the occasion," he said, without mentioning whether he had signed any deals while there. The presidential office said late on Friday that Pan had been accompanied by Fang Jeng-zen, chairman of Taiwan's state-owned energy company CPC. CPC in March signed a non-binding agreement to buy LNG and invest in the project, a move Taiwan's president has said would ensure the island's energy security. If built, the Alaska LNG project will export up to 20 million metric tons of the superchilled gas a year. It would open direct access for U.S.-made LNG to Asian markets without having to go through the Panama Canal or around the Horn of Africa, reducing transit time and costs. Taiwan has pledged to massively ramp up its purchases from the United States, including energy, to reduce a yawning trade surplus that has angered Washington.
