Clintons Among Key Figures Facing Subpoenas In GOP-Led Epstein Inquiry

The Department of Justice has also been subpoenaed to produce records "related to" Epstein. The House Oversight Committee has issued subpoenas to several high-profile individuals as part of its ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. Among those subpoenaed for depositions are former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, as well as eight former senior officials from the Department of Justice. According to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the subpoenas were issued to six former Attorneys General, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Bill Barr, Merrick Garland, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales, as well as former FBI Directors James Comey and Robert Mueller. The closed-door depositions are scheduled to take place between August and mid-October. The Department of Justice has also been subpoenaed to produce records 'related to" Epstein. The committee has requested the submission of 'full, complete, unredacted Epstein Files" by August 19, 2025. This latest development comes after the DoJ stated last month that it would not release any additional information related to the case and confirmed that no further individuals were expected to be charged. In a letter addressed to former President Clinton, Committee Chairman James Comer requested his appearance for a deposition on October 14, specifically regarding his past relationship with Epstein. 'By your own admission, you flew on Jeffrey Epstein's private plane four separate times in 2002 and 2003," Comer wrote. Clinton has previously denied ever visiting Epstein's private island, which has been linked to allegations of abuse. President Donald Trump has publicly challenged Clinton's statements, claiming, without providing evidence, that Clinton visited the island '28 times." In a 2019 statement, Clinton's spokesperson Angel Urena said the former president had no knowledge of Epstein's crimes and had not spoken to him in over a decade. The statement confirmed that Clinton flew on Epstein's private aircraft four times in 2002 and 2003, all for work related to the Clinton Foundation and in the company of foundation staff and Secret Service agents.
