On behalf of UAE President, RAK Ruler arrives in Malaysia to attend GCC-ASEAN Summit, ASEAN-GCC-China Summit

On behalf of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, arrived on Sunday in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, leading the UAE delegation to the 2nd GCC-ASEAN Summit, and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit, scheduled to take place under the theme "Inclusivity and Sustainability.'
Malaysia is hosting these high-profile events as part of its current presidency of the ASEAN 2025.
Sheikh Saud was welcomed upon arrival by Malaysian Minister of Defence Mohamed Khaled Nordin, and several Malaysian officials.
Sheikh Saud is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Sheikh Khalid Bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah's Investment and Development Office; Dr Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; Khalil Mohammed Sharif Foulathi, board member of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA); Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Malaysia, and Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Indonesia and ASEAN.
The two summits, which will be attended by several leaders, heads of government, and representatives of participating countries, are scheduled to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the People's Republic of China across various economic, investment, development, and political fields.
They will also explore new opportunities for cooperation to serve the aspirations of the countries' peoples to achieve development and prosperity.
This is the second summit bringing together the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), following the Riyadh Summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2023, during which it was agreed to hold the summit between the GCC and ASEAN every two years.

It noted the high level of readiness, coordination, and effective crisis management, particularly by Sharjah Police, the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, National Guard, Civil Defence, emergency and crisis management bodies, and other local and federal authorities. Their efforts successfully prevented any loss of life. Unified signage guide approved A new unified guide for advertising and commercial signage was approved to harmonise business branding with the emirate's visual identity and aesthetic appeal. The guide provides design principles, permit processes, and regulatory standards for signage, aiming to create an attractive and well-organised urban environment. It covers categories such as shop signs, directional signage, and promotional boards, along with placement criteria and supervision protocols. Sharjah reinforces family and social values The Council reviewed several ongoing social initiatives aimed at strengthening Emirati families, nurturing intergenerational bonds, and upholding national, cultural, and religious identity. These efforts are part of Sharjah's broader social vision to preserve community values while supporting growth and cohesion within local households.

3 June 2025 16:13 ABU DHABI (WAM) President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday ordered the release of 963 prisoners from correctional institutions on the occasion of Eid Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed also pledged to cover all fines imposed on the inmates, who had been sentenced for a variety of offences. His Highness regularly orders pardons for prisoners on occasions such as Eid Al-Adha, with the aim of providing the released inmates with an opportunity to start a new life, contribute once again to their families and communities, and promote the values of forgiveness and compassion in society.
