Traders warned against diversion of urea
A district-level review meeting was held at the Collectorate here on Thursday with representatives from fertiliser manufacturers, wholesalers, retail dealers, agriculture, cooperatives, Markfed, DCMS and others. Collector Vetriselvi and joint collector P Dhatri Reddy participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Vetriselvi said that the district administration is ready to supply all the required fertilisers in the district. Dealers should act responsibly without causing any trouble to the farmers.
She warned that strict action will be taken against those who stock fertilisers illegally, sell them at high prices, and engage in black marketing. Teams comprising agriculture department officials have been formed to conduct surprise inspections on fertiliser shops and warehouses. The collector clarified that it is not allowed to store unauthorised fertilisers and pesticides in shops. There will be special vigilance on this matter so that the fertilizers specified for the district cannot be diverted. While selling fertilisers to meet the needs of the farmers, the relevant documents should be checked and sold through biometrics. The fertiliser movement plan should be strictly implemented.
Farmers should be made aware of the problems arising due to the use of fertilisers beyond the limit. Farmers should be sensitised on integrated nutrient management with nano fertilizers and nano fertilisers should be promoted. Drones have been made available in large numbers in the district and they should be encouraged.
Dealers have a social responsibility to provide timely fertilisers to farmers so that there is no shortage of fertilisers in Kharif. The supply of urea and other fertilisers to aquaculture should be controlled. Necessary monthly plan should be implemented to supply fertilizers until November, she said.
Joint collector Dhatri Reddy said that records of fertilizer and pesticide stocks should be maintained. They should be checked by the Mandal Agriculture Department officials. Fertilisers should be provided to farmers on the basis of eCRAFT registration and biometrics. Fertilisers should be provided to farmers without any hassle.

The P4 policy is a path to eliminate poverty by 2029 by connecting the top 10% of society to uplift the bottom 20%," the collector said. He added that 86,398 golden families have already been identified in the district, of which 30,617 families have been adopted by 3,897 volunteer guides. The administration now hopes that more NRVs will join hands in guiding these families in skill development, employment, self-employment, and access to health services. NRVs including P Suresh, Y Manidhar and Harshasai pledged their involvement in the initiative. P B Siddhartha alumni members Swaroop, A Prashant Chowdhury, G S C Bose, and Sumabindu Atluri also assured their support. Expedite land acquisition process for metro rail project: Vizag collector
Visakhapatnam: District collector M N Harendira Prasad instructed the officials concerned to expedite the land acquisition process for the Visakhapatnam metro rail project and other top priority projects within the district. During a meeting held on Saturday morning in the Collectorate meeting hall, a review was conducted on the land acquisition process, issuance of notifications, and other matters regarding the metro rail project, expansion of regular railway line, and others projects. Discussions were held on the land acquisition process for the laying of third and fourth lines between Visakhapatnam and Gopalapatnam, flyover construction between Pendurthi and Simhachalam north station, and development works between Vadlapudi Junction, Gajuwaka-Kanithi Road, and Duvvada-Simhachalam lines. The Collector inquired about the extent of land required and the action taken so far and directed the completion of the remaining tasks promptly. As part of Phase-1 of the Visakhapatnam metro rail project, the collector discussed the land acquisition process for works to be undertaken in three corridors and issued guidelines to the concerned officials on various aspects. Revenue officials were instructed to expedite the Form-2 notification process and submit reports within the stipulated time. Attention was directed towards conducting a social survey for the rehabilitation and reconstruction scheme for affected families within the project area. Instructions were given to identify govt and private lands and take further action. A strategic approach was advised for acquiring 9 acres and 22 cents of suitable private land for structural needs, following regulations. The importance of adhering to timelines was emphasised. The meeting was attended by joint collector K Mayur Ashok, district revenue officer B H Bhavani Shankar, Visakhapatnam RDO P Srilakha, special deputy collector Sudhasagar, tourism officer Madhavi, Tahsildars and other officials.
