It follows a retired assassin now living in Greece, who reunites with her estranged son when he comes looking for answers.
Long-time soap fans recognised a familiar face among the cast members.
New Zealand star Alan Dale, 78, appears as supporting character Aaron Cross.
Previously, Alan played patriarch Jim Robinson, one of Neighbours' original characters.
One viewer wrote on X: "jim robinson died in neighbours and was reborn as the shady bad guy in every series in the last 2 decades."
He appeared from the Aussie's soap launch in 1985 until leaving the show in 1993.
Jim was also the father of Neighbours stalwart Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).
The actor briefly reprised this role in 2018 by appearing in a dream to his on-screen son.
After his departure from Neighbours, Alan began working extensively in US television.
He notably had a recurring role as villain Charles Widmore in the sci-fi drama series LOST.
Alan Dale stars in The Assassin on Amazon Prime
Alan appeared in a total of 17 episodes spanning from 2006 until the show's 2010 conclusion.
As well as this, he made prominent appearances in The OC and Ugly Betty.
Earlier this year, The Sun revealed Neighbours would be coming to an end - for a second time.
It came just two years after Amazon brought the soap back to life after it was axed by Channel 5 after 37 years.
The revival started filming in 2023 and was shown on Amazon Freevee worldwide.
Neighbours stars who made it big
The long-running Aussie soap has launched the careers of some of Hollywood's biggest stars. Here are some of the Neighbours alums who went on to make it big after starring on the soap...
Kylie Minogue Before she hit the big time with her music career, Kylie shot to fame playing Charlene Mitchell on Neighbours. Shortly after her arrival, Kylie began an on and off-screen romance with co-star Jason Donovan, who played Scott Robinson, which gained the couple an army of adoring fans.
Jason Donovan After his stint as Scott, singer and actor Jason became an international popstar and had his pick acting of roles. He moved to the U.K., married, had children and has since starred in over a dozen West End show, most notably Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Alan Dale New Zealand born actor Alan was one of Neighbours 12 original cast members having made his debut as Jim Robinson on the soap's first episode on 18 March 1985. As the head of the Robinson clan, widower Jim lived at Number 26 Ramsay Street with his children Paul, Julie, Scott and Lucy, and was a real anchor in the community. He stayed with the show for eight years, before his character was killed off in dramatic scenes aired in 1993 but which still reverberate through the soap to this day.
Margot Robbie Way before she was Barbie or Harley Quinn, Margot was best known as Ramsay Street resident Donna Freedman. Her notable storylines included her marriage to Ringo Brown and becoming a young widow following his tragic death. After three years she bid farewell to the soap and Australia with a plan to make a name for herself in Hollywood which she did when she bagged the role of Naomi Lapaglia opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
Jesse Spencer Jesse rocked up on Ramsay street in 1994 with the rest of the Kennedy clan. He stayed for five years, literally growing up in front of the camera, but in 2000 felt it was time to spread his wings and head for Hollywood. It was certainly a smart move as he went on to bag leading roles in popular shows like House and Chicago Fire.
Russell Crowe New Zealand-native Russell had a brief arc on Neighbours, appearing in four episodes of the soap 1987 as Kenny Larkin, the former cellmate of Street resident Henry Ramsay. The role obviously got him noticed though because he quickly went on to become a fully-fledged Hollywood A-lister, winning the Best Actor Oscar for his standout performance as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator.
The Sun exclusively revealed that Amazon have told Fremantle that their venture into soaps hasn't worked and they are pulling funding
A source said at the time: 'Amazon gave Fremantle two years to see if it worked but sadly they just didn't get the viewers.
'It's a really sad day especially for the cast and crew who work on the show in Melbourne.
'This really is the end of Neighbours just as it's celebrated it's 40th birthday.'

All Neighbours spoilers for next week as fan-favourite leaves amid affair
Neighbours is lining up an emotional farewell for Byron Stone (Xavier Molyneux) next week. With the actor lined up for an exciting new Viking-based drama, the residents of Ramsay Street must bid Byron goodbye as he heads off for pastures new. But the tearful swansong leaves open a new chapter for Sadie Rodwell (Emerald Chan) and Taye Obasi (Lakota Johnson). When an ultimatum is dealt concerning their relationship, where will they end up? There's new drama down at the Lassiters Complex when Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) clashes with Nell Rebecchi (Ayisha Salem-Towner), and a kiss between Cara Varga-Murphy and her amnesiac wife Remi (Naomi Rukavina) could change their dynamic forever. Elsewhere, when another two residents lock lips – kickstarting an affair – there's bound to be heartbreak from each corner of Melbourne's favourite cul de sac. Here's a look at next week's Neighbours… Down at the pavilion, Andrew is enraged following his altercation with Gavin Bowman, and he soon shares another charged interaction with a thankful Holly. When he takes his feelings out on Rhett, Aaron's left troubled, and gathers that there's clearly something troubling him. Holly, meanwhile, apologises to Max for her hard stance with Saskia, as the small rift between them both continues to grow. She's left disappointed when Andrew tells her that Bowman is leaving, and therefore he won't have to protect her anymore. It's time for Byron (and Trevor the dog) to bid farewell, and he does it in true Erinsborough style – with a barbecue! Everyone gathers to wish him well, while Byron also takes time to set the record straight with Taye. He warns him to take care of Sadie, before sharing a tender farewell with her. It's clear that they only want the best for one another. Taye, however, is unimpressed to learn that Sadie is using a dating app. He decides to see how she'd react if he told her he used it too, and is disappointed to find she's largely unbothered. He finally spells it out to Max how much he likes Sadie, and he offers a solution: tell her. Boosted by the advice, he deals a shocking ultimatum – he wants a proper relationship, or nothing at all. Sadie thinks Taye is joking, and when she realises that he's being serious, explains that she's not looking for anything exclusive. He insists that they stay casual, but it soon becomes evident that his heart isn't in it. When she later checks in on him, he admits that he isn't doing great but doesn't want things to be awkward. To make matters worse, when Max goes to see Sadie, she's clearly coping a lot better. Unsure of where to navigate the situation, Sadie resolves to give Taye a wide berth for now. At the hotel, Paul is in boss mode and is determined to make Lassiters' upcoming initiatives a roaring success. He continues to stoke the rivalry between Annalise and Krista, his no nonsense approach is starting to aggravate others. Nicolette isn't happy about his plans to implement a new uniform at Harold's, while Nell is infuriated by the fact he wants to turf the Sonya Rebecchi Foundation out of the Complex and down to the old shed. Its replacement? A luxury pop-up boutique for the Jewellery Expo. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Working together, Nic and Nell decide to lay down the law and sabotage a delivery of signage for the Expo, something which is noticed when the company's director arrives to do a recce. Krista, Annalise and Paul attempt to distract him, but are shocked to find the entire contents of the Foundation strewn across the Complex. Johan, the director, is seriously unimpressed, while Paul realises this is Nell's doing. Paul kicks off with Nell and Nic over their stunt, with Nell later expressing regret to Terese. She's confused how Paul can run hot and cold over their relationship, and also picks up on something fishy happening between him and Terese. Deciding to come clean, Terese admits that she doesn't want to split her time between Melbourne and New York, and Paul is surprisingly accepting. There's one condition though – he wants her to admit to Susan that Eirini Rising is in financial bother. Elsewhere, Annalise opens up to Krista about her ex-husband Sam, and the two reflect on the past with a mutual understanding over Paul's behaviour. That night, when enjoying a drink in The Waterhole, she invites Leo to join her. He agrees, unaware that she has absolutely no idea who he is. Annalise starts to come onto him, and he's forced to clarify his identity. She's mortified, and Leo rushes off to tell Krista about the incident. But when Annalise also drops by, they decide to brush it off. On Ramsay Street, Remi extends an olive branch to Cara following some advice from Susan. Dex and JJ plan a romantic dinner, but Cara doesn't want to scare her wife off. The two then settle down to eat and surprisingly hit it off with an anecdote about their life together. However, when Cara misreads the signals and leans in for a kiss, Remi is horrified. Remi thinks she can't trust Cara, who is giving herself a hard time for making a mistake and offers a heartfelt apology. Regardless, Remi thinks they need some space. JJ and Dex are blindsided by the fact their Ma' wants to remove 'Murphy' from her name. They see it as a form of rejection, and rush off to see a distracted Cara, who is struggling with work. She sees red, and lashes out at Remi for being so inconsiderate to the boys. Later, Remi confides in Susan and Terese about failing as a parent, and opens up about the difficulties of remembering her life to everyone else around her. As an amnesia sufferer herself, Susan advises her to give herself time and wait for things to fall into place. Elsewhere, Wendy hears from Terese and Aaron that Andrew has been out of sorts recently, and she decides to make a new piece of jewellery dedicated to him. The romantic gesture is just the ticket, and they're intimate for the first time in months. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? Incredibly awkward given she's meant to be excited by the prospect of living with her boyfriend. More Trending The pull Holly and Andrew feel for one another continues to simmer against their will, and jealousy is building from both sides. Desperate to regain his attention, Holly claims that she saw Bowman and his protective instincts kick back in. Andrew rushes to her aid, and as he comforts her, they lean in for a kiss! Uh-oh. Celebs Go Dating guru share 'real reason' for Christine McGuinness sudden exit
Celebs Go Dating stars have shared the 'real reason' that Christine McGuinness quit the show just weeks into the dating process. and labelled the model and podcaster 'brave' Celebs Go Dating stars have opened up on the 'real reason' that model and podcaster Christine McGuinness abruptly left the show just after the process started. Christine, 37, announced that she had quit the E4 dating program, just a few weeks after she joined the agency as she told her followers that she had "great intentions" but feels the experience is "too soon" for her. Christine and comedian Paddy McGuinness, 51, announced their split in 2022 after they had been together for 15 years. Celebs Go Dating hosts and love gurus Anna Williamson, Paul C. Brunson and Dr Tara spoke out on Christine's exit and said it just 'wasn't the right time' for Christine and that she was 'brave' to recognise that. READ MORE: Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss Anna revealed to The Sun: "It wasn't the right time for Christine to continue her journey in the agency. I think this is the absolute beauty of what the Celebrity Dating agency does - yes it's a TV show, but it's also real. Anna added: "What myself, Paul, Dr Tara do, we are not scripted, our skill sets are something we very much practice on the outside as well as within the agency construct.' "And for Christine it was very brave that she wanted to dip her toe back into the world of dating and throughout the process of us getting to know her, she realised that perhaps this actually wasn't quite the right time for her to be doing that and took a great deal of confidence and bravery inside to recognise and actually now is not the right time." Revealing a glimpse of what to expect, Anna did admit that while Christine wasn't on the show for long, she did go on dates, and viewers will see a different side to the glamorous mum-of-three. Christine opened up after she left the show and wrote on Instagram at the time: "I joined Celebs Go Dating with great intentions but have realised that dating on a public platform and the attention that brings is just too soon for me. "They've said the door is always open for me which I'm so grateful but for now, I'm returning home to my family." A spokesperson for Celebs Go Dating also added in a statement that those behind the show have "loved" working with Christine and "respect her feelings". They said: "We have loved having Christine on the show and completely respect her feelings and decision to return home and have told her that the door is always open for her in the future at the agency."
