
CRS inspects newly laid double line between Darliput and Padua stations
Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair, Lalit Bohra; Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) Ankush Gupta, Chief Bridge Engineer Ashok Kumar; Chief Engineer (Construction) Srinivasa Rao; Chief Electrical Engineer (Construction) Sansanwala; Chief Signal Engineer, Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer (Construction); Deputy CRS officers and other officers from the Division accompanied Commissioner Railway Safety during the inspection.
The newly laid section features 60 kg rails, including major and minor bridges and curves, constructed to accommodate a 25 T axle load. The inspection was completed, speed trials were conducted successfully, and authorisation was received for full-fledged commissioning.
It is part of the doubling project of the Koraput-Rayagada line. This was achieved through the concerted efforts of the Civil Engineering, Signal & Telecom, and Electrical departments of the Construction Organisation, in close coordination with operations and traffic planning by the Waltair Division, according to K. Saandeep, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair.
The work involved navigating tough geographical terrain, cutting through hard rock, and navigating steep gradients and curves. As a part of this project, several traffic facilities, including new cross-overs laid at station yards, high-level platforms, and bridges, were also inspected.

The Rail Grinding Machine (RGM), a vital asset for Indian Railways that ensures tracks remain in optimal alignment and enhances the lifespan of rails, wheels, and other track components through precision maintenance, was examined. During the visit, DRM Lalit Bohra closely reviewed the functioning, safety standards, and technical specifications of the RGM. He interacted with technical officials overseeing track maintenance to gain insights into the machine's operations and its efficiency in rail grinding. Accompanied by senior divisional engineer (East), Sairaj, along with other engineering officials, the DRM checked the standards of track maintenance and safety across the section.

DRM honours railway staff for exceptional alertness
Visakhapatnam: Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Waltair Division Lalit Bohra honoured several railway staff with Safety Awards for their exemplary presence of mind, devotion to duty and timely intervention that averted potential mishaps and safeguarded railway property. The award function was witnessed by ADRM (Operations) Manoj Kumar Sahoo, ADRM (Infra) E Santharam, senior divisional safety officer MK Sahoo and branch officers. In recent months, a series of safety-critical incidents were successfully handled by vigilant staff across stations, loco sheds and on-train operations. The alertness and swift action shown by Mahendra Singh Choudhary, station master at Kamlur, R Venkata Ramana Murthy, senior train manager (Passenger), Chalumuri Ramana Naidu, senior train manager (Goods), K Srinivasa Rao, train manager (Goods) were commendable. Speaking on the occasion, DRM Lalit Bohra commended the awardees for their exemplary alertness and dedication shown which reflects the highest standards of railway safety. Their timely actions not only safeguarded valuable railway property but, more importantly, protected human lives, he added. The DRM presented each awardee with a Safety Award certificate and token of appreciation and urged all railway staff to maintain such vigilance to ensure safe and smooth railway operations.
