No schemes of previous govt will be discontinued: Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday said that all public beneficiary schemes introduced by his predecessor and former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan will continue. Chief Minister Yadav reiterated this while addressing a programme organised by the state government in Sehore district, in the presence of Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. "The opposition (Congress) always questions our intention. In the presence of ex-CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, let me make it clear that no scheme introduced during his tenure will be stopped. We together will make efforts to arrange adequate funds for all the schemes," CM Yadav said. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also indicated that his government is considering for increasing monthly installment of 'Ladli Behna Yojana', the much-talked about women-centric scheme which was introduced by Shivraj Chouhan ahead of the state Assembly elections in 2023. "Rakshabandhan festival is coming and let me take this opportunity to announce that Madhya Pradesh government is going to increase cash benefit to women under Ladli Behna Yojana up to Rs 3,000 against Rs 1,250 at present," Yadav said. Sehore district, which is located near the state capital Bhopal, is home district of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and it falls under Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency being represented by him. During the programme, Mohan Yadav and Shivraj Chouhan jointly laid the foundation of several projects worth more than Rs 130 crore. While addressing the programme, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reiterated complete support and cooperation to CM Yadav, saying he believes that his successor would do a better job than him for the growth of the state. "I am not the one who would say I have done this and that. I will be happier if Mohan Yadav do better than me for the people of Madhya Pradesh," Shivraj Singh Chouhan said while addressing a public rally in Sehore. Meanwhile, he also mentioned that his padyatra carried out in his hometown Budhni was presented in a 'wrong way'. He said that some mediapersons had made assessments on their own. "But, let me make it clear that the party's instructions are important. Mohan Yadav is Chief Minister, and I am Union Agriculture Minister," he said. Speaking further, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that being a public representative, he must come to visit the people of his constituency, and it should not be interpreted otherwise. "But some mediapersons tried to speculate that in another way which was totally wrong," the Union Minister said. He was referring to a two-day 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Padyatra' in the Vidisha constituency which was organised in May to highlight the welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government. Along with many of his supporters, his family members including son and daughter-in-law had also participated on the second day of padyatra.

Bihar Governor visits Khan Sir's coaching institute on Eid-al-Adha
Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Saturday (June 7, 2025) visited the coaching institute of popular educator Khan Sir in Patna on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha. 'Khan Sir', whose full name is Faizal Khan, runs the Khan GS Research Centre in the city. 'I've seen 'Khan Sir' on YouTube…this young man is doing great job and so many blessings must pour for him out of hearts of poor students who can't afford fees. All my thanks and good wishes to him. May God grant him the power to do greater work so he can create more students like him who serve society with compassion,' Mr. Khan told media persons following the visit. 'One day I'll also come to interact with his students in the institute,' he added, while recalling how a poor student had recently approached him after securing a government job. (Full video available on PTI Videos - — Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) June 7, 2025 Mr. Khan, who recently hosted a wedding reception attended by several prominent figures from the city, said, 'The Governor came here today as part of the Eid-al-Adha celebrations. He wanted to see the classroom and, getting on the stage, he said one day he wants to address students as well. He also said that our culture should be preserved as western culture is dominating India and Indian culture is fading away. We have to preserve our heritage.' 'Every festival should be celebrated with love,' asserted the Governor during his interaction. The Governor and Mr. Khan also discussed the recent case of the rape and death of a minor girl in Muzaffarpur. 'I spoke to the Governor about this…such people (the alleged rapists) should be boycotted but what do you expect when even rapists get good lawyers in the country? I request the lawyers of the country that if all the lawyers unite, so that if someone has committed rape, acid attack, burnt a woman to death, kidnapping, then they will not get a good lawyer. Such incidents should be brought under the category of treason. The Governor was also very concerned about this matter,' Mr. Khan said. Earlier, in the wake of the July 2024 incident in Delhi, where several students died in a flooded basement of an IAS coaching centre, the Patna district administration conducted a survey of coaching institutes in August. The Khan GS Research Centre was among those flagged for violations. 'The number of students at the coaching institute had exceeded the available space,' District Magistrate Shrikant Kundlik Khandelkar had said, adding that under the Bihar Coaching Institute (Control and Regulation) norms, 'it was a violation of the norm.'
