DRDO guest house manager leaked secrets to Pak, reveals interrogation
Jaisalmer SP Abhishek Shivhare said the accused Mahendra Prasad, who has managed the DRDO guest house since 2020, was found to have transmitted sensitive information about military installations and personnel to Pakistani intelligence. "Two mobile phones have been recovered from the accused and are currently undergoing forensic examination," Shivhare said.
Sources revealed that Prasad, during interrogation, admitted to being contacted by an individual posing as a DRDO Colonel approximately five years ago.
The impersonator, now believed to be an ISI operative, regularly sought information about DRDO scientists, specialists and military and air force officers visiting the guest house near Jaisalmer's Chandhan Field Firing Range.
The accused allegedly disclosed that he transmitted strategic information by photographing various movements, tests and visiting vehicles, sending these details via mobile phone to his handler.

Sources said Prasad claimed he never received any monetary compensation for his activities, with no suspicious transactions found in his bank accounts.
Sources familiar with the investigation indicated that Prasad, who was hired on a contract basis in 2020, had been living at the guest house with his family. He recently sent his wife and four-year-old child to his hometown in Almora, Uttarakhand.
Given the gravity of his confirmed links with ISI and the transmission of confidential information across the border, Prasad will be transferred to the Central Investigation Centre in Jaipur for further questioning on Wednesday.

Jaipur: Chain snatchers in the city are growing audacious, with two women targeted in broad daylight—one in an upscale locality and the other at Sindhi Camp bus stand—on the same day. In the first incident, a woman fell victim to chain snatching on a moving bus. According to DCP (west) Hanuman Prasad Meena, Diksha Prajapati reported that she was boarding a bus from Sindhi Camp to Bayana around 3.30pm Tuesday when a woman passenger forcibly snatched the gold chain from her neck. When Diksha resisted, the woman threatened her with a weapon resembling a screwdriver and fled. In another incident, Sushila Devi (65), a resident of Shanti Nagar in Durgapura, was attacked near her home while returning from a Jain temple.
