Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg is ranked as one of the top 100 players in the initial batch of overall ratings in NBA 2K26 unveiled by 2K Games on Saturday.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard and MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the cover athlete for the Standard Edition of the latest installment of NBA 2K26. Joining Gilgeous-Alexander as cover athletes are Carmelo Anthony (Superstar Edition) and Angel Reese (WNBA Edition).
Flagg will begin next season as the highest-rated rookie with an overall rating of 82, topping Dylan Harper (78), Ace Bailey (77) and VJ Edgecombe (76). He is ranked 79th among all players in the league ahead of the worldwide release of the popular video game on Sept. 5.
Flagg was the AP national college player of the year after leading Duke to the Final Four, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks on 38.5% shooting from 3-point range. He became the 22nd player in program history to be a consensus first-team All-American.
The No. 1 pick debuted with the Mavericks last month in the NBA Summer League, averaging 20.5 points, five rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals on 35.7% shooting from the field. He produced 31 points in his second and final appearance on July 12.
Flagg is viewed as a generational prospect on the court and enters next season with tremendous hype as the front-runner to win Rookie of the Year. He is projected to play a key role as a first-year player, and the team is eager to see him take the court.

Bulls rumors: The $80 million contract Chicago offered Josh Giddey at start of free agency

The post Bulls rumors: The $80 million contract Chicago offered Josh Giddey at start of free agency appeared first on ClutchPoints. One of the major questions for the Chicago Bulls this offseason has involved the future of point guard Josh Giddey, who turned into a triple double machine down the stretch of last season. Still, for a while it has appeared that the two sides are quite far apart on talks for a potential new deal to keep the former Oklahoma City Thunder lottery pick in the Windy City. Recently, NBA insider Jake Fischer took to Marc Stein's Substack to reveal the initial contract that Chicago offered Giddey earlier this offseason, and how things have unfolded from there. 'League sources say that the Bulls made an offer of $80 million over four years to restricted free agent Josh Giddey when the offseason commenced on June 30,' reported Fischer. 'Giddey, of course, is seeking an annual salary in the $30 million range. Chicago has been anchored in the $20 million range in annual value ever since its original offer.' Fischer also reported that some other teams have been interested in potential sign and trade scenarios for Giddey, but that thus far, nothing has materialized on that front. 'The Bulls have likewise become generally known over the past few years as a team that can be challenging to talk trade with. Rival executives have had trouble for several trade deadlines in a row trying to pinpoint whether the Bulls were or weren't looking to offload some of their veteran players,' noted Fischer. A big decision for the Bulls While the Bulls' season ended in familiar fashion last year–a play-in game exit vs the Miami Heat–it was a bit easier of a pill to swallow for Chicago fans considering that this time around, their team was led by young talent as opposed to aging vets like DeMar DeRozan. A big part of that youth movement was the emergence of Giddey, who played the best basketball of his career down the stretch of last season and showcased the playmaking at 6'8″ that made him an intriguing draft prospect back in 2021. It remains to be seen whether the Bulls and Giddey will finally come to terms on a new deal any time in the near future. Talor Gooch trolls Indiana golf crowd with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander jersey

After completing one of the greatest individual seasons the NBA has ever seen, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has become a household name. He led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Larry O'Brien trophy in a year that saw him bring home every award imaginable, from MVP to NBA Finals MVP. Gilgeous-Alexander has become a global brand. The NBA has fully invested in him and the Thunder with a league-best 34 national television games for the 2025-26 regular season. In the latest example of why that's the right move, professionals from different sports have shouted him out. Professional golfer Talor Gooch took time out of his performance at an Indiana LIV Golf Tournament to wear Gilgeous-Alexander's 2024-25 City Edition jersey. The Oklahoma State alumn has made his Thunder fandom known for years. He grew up in Oklahoma. As you can imagine, the Indiana crowd booed him as he went on to par the hole. The Thunder crushed the Indiana Pacers fans' dreams when they won Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals to bring home the Larry O'Brien trophy. A few hours later, Gilgeous-Alexander shouted out Gooch for the troll job. It was a good move to go with his goal to upset the crowd. The professional golfer is known for leaning into the villain gimmick at times. This was the latest example of that.
