John Cena turns up in Lakers-inspired gear, beats up Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso with partner Logan Paul
WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul are set to team-up on Saturday at WWE Money in the Bank, and will face Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. Ahead of the showdown, they confronted each other on the June 6 episode of SmackDown. But then it turned into a one-sided thrashing when Paul ambushed Uso from behind with a knockout punch. Cena also caught everyone's attention as he was wearing a LA Lakers jersey. Meanwhile, Cena ended the segment by talking to the live fans, who were chanting, 'We want Truth' at him, a reference to WWE's decision to renew R-Truth's contract. Cena responded, 'You can't handle the truth!' Recently, Cena opened up on his retirement plans. He said, 'My skills are on regress. If I continue at full physical involvement, I'm not going to run right. My partner's not gonna run right. Our relationship isn't gonna run right. Sorry, kid, it's time to close this chapter.' 'I used to do a clean and jerk with 330 pounds. That's a 300-pound snatch. I can't even do those lifts anymore because my body's so beat up. 'I wish I was 18. I wish I felt great. But I don't feel more at home, besides in the arms of my wife, than I do on the canvas,' he added.

He also pointed out that 'The Champ' had actually acted out of desperation when he kicked him in the privates at the event to get his hands on the belt. Rhodes and Uso were interrupted by John Cena, who asked the ring announcer to introduce him properly. This distraction gave Logan Paul an opportunity to sneak up from behind and knock out Jey Uso with a loaded punch. Rhodes tried to deliver a Cross Rhodes to 'The Maverick' but Cena hit him with the belt. Thereafter, the heels destroyed the faces and send a clear message to the locker room. After the beat down, Cena lauded Logan Paul and insulted the audience. How did this feud start? John Cena will be teaming up with Jey Uso to take on John Cena and Cody Rhodes at Money in the Bank. The main event segment saw the appearance of the competitors of the tag team match set for the Money in the Bank event. Logan Paul launched a sneak attack on Jey Uso and John Cena went after his heated rival Cody Rhodes. Amidst the brawl, Cena delivered an AA to Rhodes and fans began to loudly chant 'We Want Truth.' Right after, he grabbed the microphone and fired back at the audience saying, "You can't handle the truth." This was a direct shot at R-Truth's release from WWE which has not been received well by the audience. The former WWE United States Champion was last involved in a program with John Cena. It began at the WWE Backlash PLE when Truth assisted Cena in his match against Randy Orton. However, he was not rewarded well as Cena put him through a table with an AA at the post-show media conference. This set up a non-title singles match between Truth and Cena for the May edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event. The Unseen 17 utilized a low blow and AA to defeat R-Truth at the event. His last appearance came on the SmackDown following the SNME show after which he announced that WWE was not going to renew his contract. With Cena's remark, he would surely get a lot more heat for his heel run, while it remains to be seen if the WWE regime would listen to their audience and bring back R-Truth. Also read:
