AITX Extinguishes Almost $5 Million of Debt, Targets FY Q2 Profit
Detroit, Michigan, Aug. 11, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc. (the 'Company') (OTCID:AITX), a global leader in AI-driven security and productivity solutions, today announced its outlook on its financial results for the second quarter of its fiscal year 2026, which ends on August 31, 2025, specifically, the Company expects to report net profitability for the quarter, primarily driven by a significant one-time accounting gain from a recent debt settlement.
The Company successfully settled more than $4.5 million in legacy debt for less than 10% of the balance owed. The resulting one-time accounting gain is anticipated to be the key factor in achieving net profitability for the quarter and strengthens the Company balance sheet by reducing its overall debt burden. This news follows the strong operational results reported in the Company's Q1 FY 2026 filing, which included a 57% increase in revenue and an 80% increase in gross profit compared to the same period in the prior year. The Company remains focused on accelerating growth in its core business and achieving sustainable, operational profitability.
'This debt settlement is a crucial step in strengthening our financial foundation,' said Steve Reinharz, the Company's CEO/CTO and founder, 'While the one-time gain will drive our net income for the quarter, our management team remains laser-focused on generating consistent, long-term operational profitability. We are confident in our strategy to expand our high-margin recurring revenue streams and deliver sustained value for our shareholders.'

Japan's economy grows at a 1% pace in the last quarter despite Trump's higher tariffs
TOKYO (AP) — The Japanese economy grew at a better than expected 1% annual pace in the last quarter, boosted by exports that held up despite U.S. President Donald Trump's higher tariffs. The U.S. has imposed a 15% tax on imports from Japan. That's higher than before for some products but down from the 25% tariff Trump announced earlier. Real gross domestic product, or GDP, which measures the total value of a nation's goods and services, expanded 0.3% in the fiscal first quarter compared to the previous quarter, beating analysts' estimates. It was Japan's fifth straight quarter of growth. Japan's exports grew 2.0% in the period, according to preliminary data from the Cabinet Office. A 90-day pause on higher tariffs for most goods and most trading partners enabled companies to rush some exports to try and beat the higher import duties. But the 15% tariffs took effect as of last week, closing that window. A surge in visits by foreign tourists has also helped, though it has also raised resentment among some Japanese upset over various aspects of dealing with outsiders. Apart from exports, capital investment rose 1.3% from a year earlier, helping to drive faster growth. But consumer spending remained relatively weak, growing just 0.2%. Prices have been rising steadily while wages have stagnated. The stronger than expected economic performance in the last quarter raises the likelihood that Japan's central bank may push ahead with raising its benchmark interest rate from its longstanding level near zero to help cap inflation. The higher tariffs that Trump has imposed to try to get companies to increase manufacturing in the United States have added to pressure on Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, who is facing calls to resign after the ruling Liberal Democrats and their coalition partner the Komeito failed to win majorities in both houses of the parliament.

Ether Just 3% From ATH as Bitcoin Rallies on ‘Supportive Momentum'
Bitcoin (BTC) has mounted another attempt for a fresh all-time record climbing near $123,000, a four-week high during the Wednesday U.S. session. Two previous attempts, spiking to $122,300 on Monday and topping $123,000 on July 14, were met with heavy selling, knocking down prices intraday below $120,000 on both occasions. Ethereum's ether (ETH) was also inching closer to its 2021 peak of $4,865, trading at $4,750 and just 3% shy from that record. Ether continued its recent outperformance, ahead 4.5% over the past 24 hours against 2.3% for BTC. The crypto rally extended to major altcoins, with Solana's SOL (SOL) advancing 5% above $200, Uniswap's (UNI) and Hyperliquid's (HYPE) native tokens also rallied 5%-6%. Broader capital markets are providing "supportive momentum" with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq hovering near all-time highs, "buoyed by the softer inflation signals and speculation of Fed easing," said Joel Kruger, market strategist at LMAX Group. The current macro backdrop has rarely been more favorable for risk assets, 10x Research noted in a Wednesday report. "With credit spreads tightening and loan growth turning up, the conditions for a sustained rally are falling into place," the authors said. The report noted that the Federal Reserve has been reluctant to cut interest rates, but when the central bank pivots, investors will rotate capital into higher-beta risk assets fast. Market participants now see over 90% probability for a 25 basis point cut in the September meeting, but pressure is ramping up on policymakers to consider deeper easing. "Bitcoin and equities are both responding early, but the market still isn't fully pricing what's coming," the report said. Sign in to access your portfolio
