"It is impossible to drive here without damaging the car. The roads were bad last year too, but now they are non-motorable," said Ashwini Maurya, who works as a supervisor in a textile company in Phase 2.
Apoorv Agrawal, who works in Phase 4, said, "I travel from Sector 30 every day, and the moment I enter Udyog Vihar, the bumpy ride starts. Vehicles slow down as they try to evade potholes. Some of the streets are not even properly lit. As a result, it becomes difficult to see the potholes, especially at night."

Industrialists said that repeated assurances from authorities to address the issue have not resulted in concrete action. Udyog Vihar is home to over 2,500 factories and office complexes, including units from the IT & ITeS, textile, automobile and pharmaceutical sectors across five phases.
Basic infrastructure has not been prioritised, they said
Parveen Yadav, president of the Gurgaon Udyog Association, said they have been raising the issue for the last two years. "Udyog Vihar contributes substantial revenue to the govt., yet essential infrastructure like roads is missing. We have raised this concern several times, but only patchwork repairs are carried out. Some roads are beyond patchwork repair and need recarpeting. Authorities need to take up the issue urgently, but no compromise should be made on quality," he said.

(HSIIDC) said the matter is being addressed. "We initiated the tendering process last year but got delayed due to the imposition of the model code of conduct. Now, the tendering process for recarpeting of roads from phases 1 to 5 has been completed. We are in the final stages of allotting the work, and work is expected to start soon," said Arun Garg, deputy general manager of HSIIDC.

Chandigarh: Panjab University has identified close to 4,000 vehicles belonging to day scholars through departmental data, but only around 150 have registered for QR-based parking stickers so far. With student council polls scheduled in the first week of September, the university has decided to speed up the process and has set August 25 as the deadline for students to get the stickers. Officials said the stickers would be linked with departmental data to ensure that only genuine students could bring four-wheelers on the campus. The move is aimed at tightening checks on outsiders, whose entry has been a persistent concern during elections. "We are ready with stickers and all arrangements. We also have a team in place to link the stickers with departmental data. However, students need to register, and departments need to make them do it. Unless that happens, the system won't work as intended," said the dean, student welfare. Authorities pointed out that the stickers would also make it easier for security staff at the gates to manage vehicle entry. Now, mobile number must for vehicle registration, licence
Ahmedabad: Following a directive from the ministry of road transport, the state govt has made it compulsory for all driving licence (DL) holders and vehicle owners to either link or update their mobile numbers in the official transport database. This process must be completed through Aadhaar authentication to ensure better communication and improved access to transport-related services. Henceforth, to make changes to the driving licence or vehicle registration booklet, individuals can visit the official Vahan and Sarathi portals and add or update their mobile numbers. "This will ensure that the individual's address on Aadhaar card and driving licence are the same. However, for those who have a different address or name on their Aadhaar card, there will be the option of getting the same updated at the RTO office," a govt official said. State transport department has also been sending messages to DL holders and vehicle owners urging them to update their details.
