'Strengthening defence relations are a symbol of deep mutual trust,' said Prime Minister Modi at Hyderabad House after their talks. For the first time, three Indian Navy ships are currently taking part in exercises in Philippine waters. Both sides continue to urge China to abide by the 2016 arbitral tribunal ruling that invalidated its broad claims in the region.'It is a matter of pleasure that today we have decided to elevate our relations to the status of a Strategic Partnership,' said Modi, calling the decision a major step forward.'A comprehensive Action Plan has also been formulated to translate the potential of this partnership into results,' he added.President Marcos, who arrived on August 4 with First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos and several Cabinet ministers, received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan.'A special welcome for a special partner!' the Ministry of External Affairs posted on X. The US has imposed 25 percent tariffs on Indian goods and 19 percent on Philippine products. Delhi and Manila are now exploring joint approaches to navigate future global trade disruptions.According to the Ministry of External Affairs, six new agreements covering science and technology, law, and culture are expected to be signed during this visit.Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, summed up the visit in a post on X:'India and the Philippines share close bonds based on the foundation of our civilisational, historical and people-to-people connections. U.S. government gets a year of ChatGPT Enterprise for $1
OpenAI on Wednesday said it was letting the U.S. government use a version of ChatGPT designed for businesses for a year, charging just $1 for the service. Federal workers in the executive branch will have access to ChatGPT Enterprise in a partnership with the U.S. General Services Administration, according to the pioneering San Francisco-based artificial intelligence (AI) company. "By giving government employees access to powerful, secure AI tools, we can help them solve problems for more people, faster," OpenAI said in a blog post announcing the alliance. ChatGPT Enterprise does not use business data to train or improve OpenAI models and the same rule will apply to federal use, according to the company. Earlier this year, OpenAI announced an initiative focused on bringing advanced AI tools to U.S. government workers. The news came with word that the U.S. Department of Defense awarded OpenAI a $200 million contract to put generative AI to work for the military. OpenAI planned to show how cutting-edge AI can improve administrative operations, such as how service members get health care, and also has cyber defense applications, the startup said in a post. OpenAI has also launched an initiative to help countries build their own AI infrastructure, with the US government a partner in projects. The tech firm's move to put its technology at the heart of national AI platforms around the world comes as it faces competition from Chinese rival DeepSeek. DeepSeek's success in delivering powerful AI models at a lower cost has rattled Silicon Valley and multiplied calls for U.S. big tech to protect its dominance of the emerging technology. The OpenAI for Countries initiative was launched in June under the auspices of a drive, dubbed 'Stargate,' announced by U.S. President Donald Trump to invest up to $500 billion in AI infrastructure in the United States. OpenAI, in "coordination" with the U.S. government, will help countries build data centres and provide customised versions of ChatGPT, according to the tech firm. Projects are to involve "local as well as OpenAI capital."

Modi's STUNNING Rebuke To Trump; 'India Won't Surrender, Will Pay The Price'
/ Aug 07, 2025, 10:58AM IST Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that he is ready to bear the consequences of defending India's agricultural sector as trade tensions with the United States intensify. Speaking at the MS Swaminathan Centenary International Conference, Modi stated that India will not compromise on the interests of its farmers, fishermen, or dairy sector. This follows the US imposing steep tariffs—up to 50%—on Indian imports, partly over India's continued oil trade with Russia. Modi's firm stance also reflects India's refusal to ease duties on agricultural and genetically modified products in the proposed bilateral trade deal.#ModiSpeech #IndiaUSTradeWar #ProtectFarmers #TradeTensions #ModiVsUS #AgriPolicy#IndianFarmers #BilateralTrade #TariffBattle #ModiStandsFirm #DairyWar #TradeShowdown

'No Compromise': PM Modi Reacts To 50% Trump Tariff, Says Ready To Pay The Price For Farmers
/ Aug 07, 2025, 10:55AM IST As US President Donald Trump doubles down on economic pressure with a 50% tariff on Indian imports over oil trade with Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has drawn a red line, declaring India will never compromise on the interests of its farmers, fishermen, and livestock rearers. His statement is being seen as a direct rebuttal to US bullying tactics, especially when China faces no such penalties. 'I know I will pay a heavy price, but I am prepared for it,' Modi asserted, invoking both patriotism and resistance. Trump's executive order brands India's energy strategy a threat, but India has slammed the move as unjustified. This moment isn't just about tariffs, it's about a sovereign nation defending its right to economic independence in a world of double standards. Will this spark a trade war? Or a diplomatic reckoning? Watch this powerful breakdown of Modi's bold stand, the racism-ridden double standards, and India's global awakening.#modivstrump #trumptariff #pmmodi #modispeech #moditrump #moditariff #indiarussiaoil #farmersfirst #nationalinterest #racismintrade #makeinindia #indiavsus #tariffwar #foreignpolicy #breakingnews #trending #trendingnow #toi #bharat #toibharat #indianews
