22 Kids and Counting's Sue Radford flooded with support as she pays emotional tribute to friend

Daily Mirror27-07-2025
It's set to be an emotional episode of 22 Kids and Counting as stars Sue and Noel Radford remember their late friend.
Emotions will be at an all-time high in the upcoming episode of Channel 5's 22 Kids and Counting as the family pays tribute to their late friend, Sophie Walker.

Last year, 17-year-old Sophie lost her seven-year battle to cancer after being diagnosed with Wilms' tumour back in 2017.

Initially, Sophie went to the doctors with a suspected stomach bug before being given the diagnosis.

Over the course of seven years, her parents, Jamie and Rebecca, who have 10 children, were fundraising with the hope of life-saving treatment for their daughter.
Tragically, in July 2024, the family announced that Sophie had died. It looks as though Sunday's episode of 22 Kids and Counting will pay tribute to the teenager, as a preview was released on their Instagram account.
In the preview, Sue said, "The Walkers are our best friends. They've always been there for us, and we've always tried to be there for them, especially with what they're going through with Sophie.

"She's starting to feel a lot of pain, so they took her to A&E. They're at the mercy of doctors."
During the preview, people saw Sophie's parents in the clip, who confessed they weren't coping well. Her dad, Jamie, said: "There are times I could just scream and smash the place up."

The video's caption read: "True friendship shines brightest in the darkest moments [sic]." This week's episode is a heartfelt tribute to Sophie Walker, their beloved friend, who tragically passed away last year at just 17.
It wasn't long before people commented on the preview, with many sharing their support. One person said: "So so Heartbreaking [sic] my thoughts are with you all Xxx"

Someone else shared: "So so Sad." While another wrote: "So very very sad to read about Sophie s passing so very young, thinking of all her family and the Radfords."
Another follower commented: "So sorry!!! My condolences." With another sharing: "I was devastated when I found out Sophie died. I was praying for her and made a donation on her GoFundMe. I didn't know she had passed, as I deactivated my Instagram account. I saw something on the news and was in disbelief. I had to reactivate my account to make sure it was real!"

At the time of Sophie's death, the Radford family shared a touching tribute to the 17-year-old, who they described as the 'bravest girl'.
They wrote: "I can't even find the right words. Beautiful Sophie our hearts are broken, you really were the most beautiful kind hearted funny and bravest girl we will miss your beautiful smile and laugh so much. You rest now Sophie and take care of your beautiful amazing family. Love you forever beautiful Sophie."

The 19-year-old model wore a white halterneck bikini for the occasion as she took to Instagram to share the look. ‌ Taking to her social media account, Lexi sat back on the deck of the boat as the clear blue ocean was seen in the background. She perched herself on a lounger as she posed for the camera in the revealing two piece. ‌ With her wet blonde locks slicked back, Lexi finished the look with a pair of oversized sunglasses. She captioned the upload: "Boat day wearing @naia_beach." The company, which was co-founded by Tess Daly, quickly responded with a number of flame emojis. ‌ The post followed a very similar look from her 53-year old mum. Amanda had posted a snap of her in a very similar outfit as she posed on the rocks by the ocean. The images also come after Lexi posed topless in another photoshoot. Lexi, who has been signed to a modelling agency since the age of 16 is no stranger to the camera. She regularly updates her social media followers with her images. ‌ Earlier in the week she showed off her wet hair look while wearing a full make-up look. In one snap, she is seen gazing over her shoulder as she covered her chest with her arms. Another of her wet-look style uploads saw her crouched down wearing pale blue jeans and a white vest top. Her presenter mum was among her followers pressing the post's like button. And while comments had been limited, followers were quick to share their appreciation. ‌ And a day earlier, Lexi had uploaded another photo shoot, labelling it: "Just a little shoot." Ashley Roberts was among those approving of the post. The modelling shoots come almost a year since she made her catwalk debut. While her Britain's Got Talent judge mum revealed she is over the moon after her teenage daughter has decided to follow in her footsteps into the industry, she also shared her caution at the time. ‌ Amanda, 53, shares daughters Lexi and Hollie, 12, with husband Chris Hughes and described the feelings from Lexi's first catwalk. Lexi opened a show at London Fashion Week last year and Amanda said the pair had been "super nervous" ahead of the gig. However, she didn't doubt for a second that she would thrive int he venture. After the show, Lexi confessed: "I was so nervous but I really enjoyed the experience. The other models were really nice to me backstage, and it was so much fun. "The show was so beautiful and the brand and designers are visionaries - passionate about sustainability with 90% of the raw materials they use being environmentally friendly. "I'm really proud that they trusted me with their design to support LFW. Everyone looked after me and it's surreal that tomorrow I start uni!"
