AC/DC Brings Multiple Singles Back To The Billboard Charts

Forbes28-04-2025
AC/DC is climbing the Billboard charts once again, thanks to a handful of timeless smashes — and not just in the U.S., but globally as well. The legendary rockers appear on more than half a dozen rankings this frame, as both albums and singles reemerge and rise across several tallies. Three songs by AC/DC find their way onto the rosters this week, with two of them making notable comebacks on one tally apiece.
"You Shook Me All Night Long" is the highest-flying return from AC/DC at the moment. The familiar cut reenters the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at No. 10, bringing it to the top 10 once more. At the same time, the fan favorite also improves slightly on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, lifting to No. 21.
Meanwhile, "Thunderstruck" continues to live up to its reputation as AC/DC's biggest hit. The anthem appears on five different rankings this frame, making it the group's most visible song right now.
'Thunderstruck' reappears on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at No. 178, and its international appeal is on display once more. Simultaneously, it rockets up the Billboard Global 200, which tracks the most-consumed songs worldwide including U.S. figures – while the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. removes sales and streaming info from America – soaring more than 30 spaces to No. 142. That's a new all-time peak for the cut on the planet-spanning roster.
In America, "Thunderstruck" nearly reclaims the throne on several genre-specific lists. It settles at No. 2 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, just missing out on the top spot, while also coming in third place on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs ranking. Over on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, the cut breaks back into the top 10, advancing from No. 11 to No. 9.
It's not just individual tracks that perform well when it comes to AC/DC's catalog. The band's Back in Black album is also enjoying a notable resurgence, as it climbs on three separate Billboard charts this week. On the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, Back in Black finds its way back into the top 10.
The title track from the release is also growing, improving from No. 21 to No. 19 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs list. It's the only AC/DC tune to appear on a single roster.
Back in Black was originally released in 1980 and remains one of the most successful projects in hard rock history. The album is still actually one of the bestselling full-lengths of all time, regardless of style.

Lisa steps into heartbreak: Blackpink star channels grief in ‘Dream' music video (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 — Blackpink's Lisa has released the music video for Dream, a track from her debut solo album Alter Ego, which features Japanese actor and model Kentaro Sakaguchi as her lost love. According to Billboard, the five-minute clip directed by OJun Kwon sees Lisa using her acting skills — the Kpop girl group superstar starred as Mook, a a health-guru type in The White Lotus — as a heartbroken widow haunted by memories of her partner. It opens with the singer in funeral attire placing a white flower on his casket, before the video shifts to scenes of happier days — road trips, late-night stops, and playful moments that highlight the couple's bond. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that her lover is gone. Lisa is shown carrying his ashes to a lake, recalling a conversation where they shared dreams of another life together. The video ends with her scattering his remains, symbolising both loss and longing. Sakaguchi, known for his roles in Japanese dramas and films, currently stars in Netflix's Beyond Goodbye, where he plays Naruse Akihito, a man whose fate becomes entangled with a grieving woman. Lisa, meanwhile, continues to enjoy solo success. She recently picked up her third MTV Video Music Awards nomination for Best K-pop with Born Again, and is on tour with Blackpink, with the group set to perform at London's Wembley Stadium this month.

The Spinners' ‘Pick of the Litter' Turns 50

The start of album-oriented romantic soul can be traced to May 1968, when the Delfonics released 'La La Means I Love You.' Inspired by the earlier cooing ballad style of Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Barbara Lynn, Baby Washington and Little Anthony, the LP ushered in a new Philadelphia music movement marked by vocals that expressed true love, sincerity and respect for one's romantic partner. The rise of black-owned FM radio stations playing R&B gave the genre momentum. On the other end of the timeline, one of the last landmark albums in this genre before the onset of disco was the Spinners' 'Pick of the Litter,' released 50 years ago this month. The record became the vocal group's highest-charting LP on the Billboard 200, peaking at No. 8, and it climbed to No. 2 on the soul album chart. The album's single 'They Just Can't Stop It (Games People Play)' reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the soul chart.
