Lady Gaga Matches Mariah Carey's Record As 'Die With A Smile' Holds At No. 1
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars's 'Die With a Smile' ties Mariah Carey for the second-longest No. 1 reign ... More on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. INDIO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 11: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) (EXCLUSIVE ACCESS) Lady Gaga performs at the Coachella Stage during the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at Empire Polo Club on April 11, 2025 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars just keep winning with what has turned out to be a career-defining single. Their global smash "Die With a Smile" remains at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. rankings this week, and this frame brings the title to another important milestone. "Die With a Smile" continues its impressive run atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., racking up a fourteenth nonconsecutive week at No. 1. With this latest stint, the tune now ties for the second-longest reign in the chart's history. By leading once again, "Die With a Smile" matches the 14-week record previously set by Mariah Carey's holiday favorite "All I Want for Christmas Is You." That track has become a seasonal staple, reclaiming its spot atop the list year after year, but Gaga and Mars's collaboration has managed the feat without the benefit of an annual boost. Gaga and Mars still trail behind another global powerhouse. Blackpink singer Rosé – and Mars' earlier smash "Apt." – maintains the all-time record on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. with an astounding 19 weeks at No. 1. That tune, released in 2024, shattered expectations with its lengthy run at the top — and while "Die With a Smile" is quickly climbing the ranks of the most successful songs ever on this roster, it still has some ground to make up if it wants to catch up. At this pace, "Die With a Smile" is almost certain to hold onto the No. 1 spot next week. If it does, the cut will snag a fifteenth nonconsecutive frame in charge on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., pulling ahead of Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" and claiming sole possession of second place on the all-time list. Carey's festive favorite isn't finished yet, though. When the 2025 holiday season arrives, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is likely to surge once again — as it does every year — and could very well reclaim the throne. If history repeats itself, the classic could add to its total by the end of 2025 and into early 2026. Even if "Die With a Smile" can fend off any challengers in the coming weeks, it still faces a daunting challenge to tie the all-time leader. The cut would need roughly a month longer at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. to match the 19-week reign set by "Apt.," a goal that feels attainable…but far from guaranteed. Gaga and Mars are also still in charge of the Billboard Global 200 as well. "Die With a Smile" earns its eighteenth week at No. 1 on the worldwide ranking, pushing it just one frame away from matching the all-time record. Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" holds the benchmark, with 19 nonconsecutive weeks spent atop the tally. That makes next week crucial. If "Die With a Smile" can cling to its crown a little longer, it will tie with Carey for the most time spent at No. 1 on the ranking.

AC/DC Brings Multiple Singles Back To The Billboard Charts
AC/DC is climbing the Billboard charts once again, thanks to a handful of timeless smashes — and not just in the U.S., but globally as well. The legendary rockers appear on more than half a dozen rankings this frame, as both albums and singles reemerge and rise across several tallies. Three songs by AC/DC find their way onto the rosters this week, with two of them making notable comebacks on one tally apiece. "You Shook Me All Night Long" is the highest-flying return from AC/DC at the moment. The familiar cut reenters the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart at No. 10, bringing it to the top 10 once more. At the same time, the fan favorite also improves slightly on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart, lifting to No. 21. Meanwhile, "Thunderstruck" continues to live up to its reputation as AC/DC's biggest hit. The anthem appears on five different rankings this frame, making it the group's most visible song right now. 'Thunderstruck' reappears on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. at No. 178, and its international appeal is on display once more. Simultaneously, it rockets up the Billboard Global 200, which tracks the most-consumed songs worldwide including U.S. figures – while the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. removes sales and streaming info from America – soaring more than 30 spaces to No. 142. That's a new all-time peak for the cut on the planet-spanning roster. In America, "Thunderstruck" nearly reclaims the throne on several genre-specific lists. It settles at No. 2 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart, just missing out on the top spot, while also coming in third place on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs ranking. Over on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, the cut breaks back into the top 10, advancing from No. 11 to No. 9. It's not just individual tracks that perform well when it comes to AC/DC's catalog. The band's Back in Black album is also enjoying a notable resurgence, as it climbs on three separate Billboard charts this week. On the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, Back in Black finds its way back into the top 10. The title track from the release is also growing, improving from No. 21 to No. 19 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs list. It's the only AC/DC tune to appear on a single roster. Back in Black was originally released in 1980 and remains one of the most successful projects in hard rock history. The album is still actually one of the bestselling full-lengths of all time, regardless of style.

Lady Gaga Pushes Past Harry Styles And Miley Cyrus
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars's 'Die With a Smile' spends a fourteenth week at No. 1 on the Billboard ... More Global Excl. U.S. chart, tying Mariah Carey's holiday smash as the second-longest-running leader ever. INDIO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 11: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Lady Gaga performs at the Coachella Stage during the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at Empire Polo Club on April 11, 2025 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are steady at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart this week — again. The duo's collaboration 'Die With a Smile' continues to prove itself to be a true powerhouse, and every frame it keeps at No. 1, it inches closer and closer to being named the most successful song of all time on that tally. 'Die With a Smile' rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for a fourteenth nonconsecutive week, putting Gaga and Mars in rare company. The tally, which only counts sales and streams from outside the U.S. to show what the world is listening to, is one of two major worldwide charts Billboard compiles each week, and the single is currently in charge of both. With its fourteenth frame at No. 1, 'Die With a Smile' matches Mariah Carey's holiday staple 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' as the second-longest-running chart-topper in the history of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. If the pair can hold on for one more week — and all signs suggest they will — they'll break that newly-formed tie and claim the runner-up spot outright. That said, Carey may return to reclaim her place later this year. Her beloved Christmas anthem typically surges up the Billboard charts in December, and another seasonal run to the top could shuffle this ranking again. Just last week, 'Die With a Smile' was tied as the third-longest-running No. 1 in the chart's history. It had matched the 13-frame runs logged by Harry Styles's 'As It Was' and Miley Cyrus's 'Flowers,' both of which dominated in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Now, the Grammy-winning duet pushes ahead of both of those tracks for good. Mars isn't just sharing this win with Gaga — he's also making history on his own terms. With 'Die With a Smile' now among the sturdiest leaders ever on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., the singer-songwriter claims a rare distinction: he appears on two of the three longest-running No. 1s in the chart's history. His collaboration with Blackpink star Rosé, 'Apt.,' a Korean/English duet that took the world by storm last year, still leads the pack. That track managed a staggering 19-week reign at No. 1 — more than a month longer than Carey's holiday favorite. At this point, it's hard to say whether 'Die With a Smile' has another five weeks (or more) at No. 1 in it. That continued success is certainly not impossible for the cut, though it's also far from guaranteed – but in only a few more frames, Mars may match his own best showing, making history again.

Lady Gaga Matches Miley Cyrus In A Historic Showing
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile' leads both Billboard global charts again, now with 13 ... More weeks at No. 1 outside the U.S. NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 5: Lady Gaga is seen signing autographs on March 5, 2025 in New York, New York. (Photo by MEGA/GC Images) Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are still on top of the world. The duo's hit 'Die with a Smile' reclaims its spot as the biggest song on the planet this week, once again leading both of Billboard's worldwide tallies. That includes the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., with the difference between them being that the latter strips out all American listening data to show what the rest of the world is playing on repeat. In both cases, 'Die with a Smile' is out front, giving Gaga and Mars another historic win to add to their already-impressive tenures as superstars. On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., 'Die with a Smile' leads for a thirteenth frame. That's a lucky number this time around, as it pushes the track into rarefied territory. With this latest stint on top, Gaga and Mars tie two of the most successful songs in the chart's short but competitive lifespan. 'Die with a Smile' is now even with Miley Cyrus' 'Flowers' and Harry Styles' 'As It Was,' as all three cuts have ruled the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for exactly 13 weeks. That trio now shares the bronze medal as the third-longest-running No. 1s in the ranking's history. If 'Die with a Smile' can manage to hold on for just one more frame — which, at this point, seems highly likely — Gaga and Mars will break the tie they just formed and move up the all-time ranking. One more week at No. 1 would bring them to an even 14 periods, enough to match the runner-up record, which is currently held by Mariah Carey's holiday smash 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.' That annual favorite will almost certainly return to the top spot again this December. While 'Die with a Smile' is making history, it still has a long way to go before it catches up to the all-time champion. The current record-holder for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. is another track featuring Mars: 'Apt.,' his collaboration with Rosé. That release enjoyed an incredible 19-frame reign atop the tally, and it's still comfortable in the runner-up rung this time around. 'Die with a Smile' could theoretically match that number, but it would need to continue ruling for more than a month to get there. That's a tall order, especially for a tune that's already logged 13 frames in charge – though it's certainly not impossible.
