Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars's 'Die With a Smile' spends a fourteenth week at No. 1 on the Billboard ... More Global Excl. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars are steady at No. 1 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart this week — again. The duo's collaboration 'Die With a Smile' continues to prove itself to be a true powerhouse, and every frame it keeps at No. 1, it inches closer and closer to being named the most successful song of all time on that tally.
'Die With a Smile' rules the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. for a fourteenth nonconsecutive week, putting Gaga and Mars in rare company. The tally, which only counts sales and streams from outside the U.S. to show what the world is listening to, is one of two major worldwide charts Billboard compiles each week, and the single is currently in charge of both.
With its fourteenth frame at No. 1, 'Die With a Smile' matches Mariah Carey's holiday staple 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' as the second-longest-running chart-topper in the history of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. If the pair can hold on for one more week — and all signs suggest they will — they'll break that newly-formed tie and claim the runner-up spot outright.
That said, Carey may return to reclaim her place later this year. Her beloved Christmas anthem typically surges up the Billboard charts in December, and another seasonal run to the top could shuffle this ranking again.
Just last week, 'Die With a Smile' was tied as the third-longest-running No. 1 in the chart's history. It had matched the 13-frame runs logged by Harry Styles's 'As It Was' and Miley Cyrus's 'Flowers,' both of which dominated in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Now, the Grammy-winning duet pushes ahead of both of those tracks for good.
Mars isn't just sharing this win with Gaga — he's also making history on his own terms. With 'Die With a Smile' now among the sturdiest leaders ever on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., the singer-songwriter claims a rare distinction: he appears on two of the three longest-running No. 1s in the chart's history.
His collaboration with Blackpink star Rosé, 'Apt.,' a Korean/English duet that took the world by storm last year, still leads the pack. That track managed a staggering 19-week reign at No. 1 — more than a month longer than Carey's holiday favorite.
At this point, it's hard to say whether 'Die With a Smile' has another five weeks (or more) at No. 1 in it. That continued success is certainly not impossible for the cut, though it's also far from guaranteed – but in only a few more frames, Mars may match his own best showing, making history again.

Human-sized Labubu doll sells for more than $150,000

A human-sized Labubu doll was sold this week for a record 1.08m yuan ($150,324; £110,465), according to a Chinese auction house. The 131cm (4ft 4in) figurine was sold at the Yongle International Auction in Beijing. The auctioneer said it is now the most expensive toy of its kind in the world. Labubu dolls are quirky monster characters created a decade ago by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, which have increased in popularity in recent years after a number of celebrity endorsements. Labubu dolls, sold by Chinese toy company Pop Mart, usually cost around 50 yuan. This week's auction was dedicated entirely to Labubu. Forty eight items were put on sale with around 200 people in attendance. The auction house said it raised a total of 3.37m yuan. The figurines have sparked a global buying frenzy after frequently appearing in social media posts by Lisa from the K-pop group Blackpink. The soft toys became a viral TikTok trend after being worn by other celebrities like Rihanna and Dua Lipa. Former England football captain David Beckham also posted a photo on Instagram of a Labubu attached to his bag. Earlier this year, Pop Mart pulled the dolls from all UK stores following reports of customers fighting over them. The Chinese retailer often sells the collectable toys in mystery "blind boxes". These items are popular with customers who only find out the design of the figurine once they have opened the packaging.

Lorde Calls Charli xcx, Chappell Roan & Gracie Abrams on Live Radio & Catches One of Them Mid-Hangover

Lorde was on the air with BBC Radio 1 recently — and unbeknownst at first to Gracie Abrams, Charli xcx and Chappell Roan, they were, too. In a TikTok clip posted Wednesday (June 11), the New Zealand native played a hilarious game of 'Sitting or Standing' on the English radio station, during which she was tasked with guessing whether a few of the famous friends in her contact list were on their feet or seated at that very moment before calling to check. Starting with the 'That's So True' singer, Lorde incorrectly bet that she would be sitting. The Auckland native was 0 for 2 when she also guessed that the 'Pink Pony Club' artist would be sitting down. 'I'm so sorry, I'm on Radio 1, I'm doing this horrible show where they make me ask this ridiculous question,' a playfully frustrated Lorde explained to Roan after hearing her answer, to which the perplexed latter asked, 'Wait, so is this on the radio?' When it came time to call Charli, the 'Von Dutch' singer was immediately suspicious as Lorde asked whether she was sitting or standing. 'What is happening?' she said warily. 'I'm lying down.' 'I'm so hungover,' Charli drawled as the 'Royals' singer laughed. 'Oh, hi everyone. I can't believe I'm on the radio like this.' 'You're perfect,' Lorde responded. 'Keep lying down, I love you. I owe you.' The two-time Grammy winner has strong friendships with all three of the artists she called. In her April Billboard cover story, Abrams gushed that her pal is 'like 800 years old inside … whenever we're together, I feel my nervous system regulate differently,' while Roan said last year that Lorde reached out and gave her a list of advice for handling the 'abusive' elements of fame. Lorde's relationship with Charli has been a little bumpier, with the two women going through a rough patch before publicly resolving their issues on the 'Girl, So Confusing' remix supporting Charli's Brat album. They would later team up to perform the track during Charli's Coachella set earlier this year. The 'Green Light' artist is now gearing up to drop an LP titled Virgin on June 27, marking her first full-length in four years. So far, she's shared two singles from the project: 'What Was That' and 'Man of the Year,' which has recently been taking flight on TikTok thanks to a trend that finds users posting screenshots of toxic messages sent by ex-boyfriends. Also on Monday, Lorde hilariously reacted to the trend by posting a video of herself widening her eyes and shaking her head in disappointment. 'These messages…….,' she wrote in her caption. Ananda Lewis, Influential MTV Host, Dies at 52

Ananda Lewis, who had a celebrated run on MTV as a veejay and as the host of shows including Total Request Live and Hot Zone, has died at age 52. News of Lewis' death was confirmed in a Facebook post by her sister, Lakshmi Emory. In 2020, Lewis revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, saying that she had long avoided mammograms and urged early testing. If you're in a healthy body, you're holding a winning lotto ticket. PLEASE learn how to avoid cancer. Because you still can.' Lewis is survived by her son, Langston, who is 14. Born in Los Angeles, Lewis attended Howard University and then came to cultural prominence in the late '90s as an MTV veejay. After joining the network in 1997, she hosted programs including the countdown show Total Request Live and Hot Zone, which featured music videos and Lewis' artist interviews. The network also called upon Lewis to host specials on school violence after the 1999 Columbine shooting along with a tribute program following the 2001 death of Aaliyah. Lewis launched The Ananda Lewis Show in 2001 and later served as a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight spin-off The Insider, eventually leaving that project to pursue carpentry. Her final project was as the host of TLC's While You Were Out. On social media, fellow former MTV veejay Dave Holmes remembered Lewis writing 'Well, this is awful. Ananda Lewis has died. She was the best: friendly funny kind clever cool committed passionate patient stylish and smart. If you were working with her, you knew you'd be having fun, and you'd want to step your game up to match her effortless charisma. You couldn't, but the trying made you better. We bonded over our shared love of this song, it has reminded me of her ever since, and now it always will. All my love to her family.'
